Misinformation Spread in Shifting Communities
Without proper documentation and verification, finding information will always be a trial. Running into misinformation is part of the beast of researching something like this. Some of the misinformation isn't a big deal, but some of it can be downright dangerous so I'll be addressing some of it here.
☃ Lucid Dreaming and Shifting are completely different.
This is probably one of the most common chunks of misinformation I have seen spread around in Shifting spaces. If you've read some of my recent blogs, you already know this.
In case you haven't, I explain what Lucid Dreaming is in this post.
Another post on this topic can be found here, quoting and responding to some answers I was given by Shifters here on Tumblr regarding LD and RS.
☃ Symptoms are Proof/Signs You’re Shifting
Yes, those symptoms can be signs that you are shifting. However, they are not 100%. Our minds are insane, wild things that can trick us into feeling all kinds of things. If you are expecting certain symptoms, your mind can make you feel those symptoms to trick you into believing that you are shifting when you are not.
I believe this is what happens when people feel the symptoms but fail to actually shift. I believe that is just the mind playing a trick on you. So do keep that in mind. The human mind is powerful, capable of convincing us of a lot of things.
☃ There is Nothing Wrong With Shifting
I know that statement is going to upset some people, but it is something that needs to be addressed.
I covered the DR-Versions of us in this post, explaining that psychologically speaking they are different people due to the experiences in their lives that are unique to them.
I have not seen anyone in any Shifting community talk about consent and I need to talk about that here. None of the steps we take to Shift involve seeking consent from the person whose life we are hijacking. We don't take into consideration what it is like for them to lose that chunk of their life - whether those memories are a blank for them or not.
And them not being aware of us stepping in does not mean it's morally right. If you were to drug your friend and, while they were under the influence, make them spend their money on various stuff they needed and could afford - you still did something horrible even if no harm was done as a result, even if they weren't aware of what you did.
I actually drafted this post for a while because of this section in particular, trying to figure out a nicer way to put it but I can't sugarcoat this.
So Shifters - we need to figure out a way to get consent from the DR-US, if we can not get them, cross that Reality off our list and move onto one that will.
Getting consent from the DR-us should be a requirement, the one rule that all of us Shifters should agree on.
☃ Evidence that Reality Shifting is Real
I asked for information from the community here, but received only a little bit of feedback on this matter.
The only CIA document I know of is the one about The Gateway Process. A fascinating read, to be sure, but it is based on and about Astral Projection - not Reality Shifting.
While this can be wielded as handy evidence to support Reality Shifting, it is not proof of Reality Shifting and should not be claimed as such.
The same is true for Quantum Jumping, which is about a particular behaviour of electrons. While Quantum Jumping and Quantum physics in itself is absolutely fascinating, there is no actual proof within it that Reality Shifting is real.
Again, like The Gateway Process, it can be used as something to possibly support or explain Reality Shifting, but it is not proof and should not be claimed as such.
Claiming either The Gateway Process or Quantum Jumping as proof that Reality Shifting is real will only make things harder for the RS community as those who do some digging will know that they are supportive at best, but no actual proof, and that may make it even harder of them to believe you when you say your experiences are real.
☃ Reality Shifting isn't dangerous.
I know that sentence alone is going to upset some people but had to phrase it in a way to make sure I got your attention, because this is very important. So please hold off on reacting until you read what I have to say.
Claiming that Reality Shifting is completely safe is the most dangerous lie I've seen spread around the communities, especially in front of vulnerable people - the youth, the mentally ill, etc. The inherent danger isn't the Shifting itself, but in misinformation and advice that some members of the RS community are spreading.
I've addressed this in another post, giving out a warning, but there are members of the Shifting Community who are advising people to take sleeping pills to stay in their DR longer. Or advising them to go even further.
Honestly, if you suggested that you should be ashamed of yourself because that is life threatening advice. Do not take anything that isn't recommended an actual doctor and do not attempt yourself harm. Do not tell someone else what to take or to harm themselves.
The fact is, this is your life. Your CR. It is the one you live in. You can not guarantee where you reincarnate, if you even do. You will not stay in your DR if your CR body dies while you're visiting said DR - because that reality belongs to the DR-You, not the CR-you and your consciousness is tied to the CR-body.
So shifting itself isn't dangerous (Just morally wrong without consent from the DR-you) it's the misinformation that you can stay in your DR that is dangerous. Because you can't.
I apologise for anyone I may have upset with this information, but misinformation must not be allowed to spread and I feel it is my duty to step up and correct things as I see it.
You can believe what you want, that is perfectly fine, as long as you are not posing a danger to anyone else (like with the horrible advice I mentioned above). Furthermore, if you would like to be taken more seriously as a community (because I know I sure as hell would like to be taken more seriously) then stopping the misinformation, and being educated on the subjects, is the first step in ensuring that you are not dismissed as someone who was misguided.
