Daylight Star | Echidona & Lucy
“Latin…” Lucy repeated, wonder evident in her tone. “I guess I should have expected that. It makes sense.” It was intriguing to say the least. It made her wonder just how old the slates were. They must have been ancient…but where did they even come from to begin with? Did they just appear there? “That’s right. It’s just the two of us right now, so I haven’t really had the chance to do a lot of testing with it but that’s our current theory anyway. He’s been a huge help to me, since he was part of another clan before we met.” But things had happened and now there they were, the King and her lionheart.
“Dominion over the stars?” Her eyes widened slightly before a small smile tugged at her lips. “It’d make sense. Loke and I, we’re also in the astronomy club at Konohana University. And our base just…sort of became the local planetarium.” Between that and the zodiac constellations, she could sort of understand that. “Loke works there, after all, so it just became a habit to meet up there…not that we’ve really needed it. We’re not a particularly powerful clan.”
She listened carefully as the other continued, speaking about the Blue King and her own. “I was vaguely sort of aware of it,” she noted. “He mentioned something like that when I registered.” She hadn’t thought much of it then, but listening to Echidona’s explanation, it made sense why they’d be at odds. She nodded, carefully nibbling on her cookie as she spoke, not wanting to interrupt.
“Yeah, that makes sense,” she answered, once Echidona paused. From the name of this place, the Citadel of Dreams… “So you can control dreams too? So I’m still asleep in my bed right now?” Ah, that was kind of nice…she wouldn’t have to worry about the calories of the cookies. She took another sip of the tea, giving a small hum. “This tea is really good by the way. What kind is it?”
The witch quirked a brow at this, so subtly that the other before her may not have noticed the change. She had wondered if it was possible for one to wield more than one color or if strains could wield the power of a clansman or a King. To hear that there was someone that had indeed done so.. Well, her experiment would not all be for naught. After all, she was attempting to experiment if a King could gain the powers of another clan.
“So then, the King of Stars and her clansman had an interest in stars as well..” Echidona leaned forward, her elbows resting on the ornate table as she laced her fingers together, her black, reddish eyes watching the blonde as she mulled over the information she just learned. “Would you say you had an interest in stars before becoming King? Or after?” The slates that chose their King’s.. It felt as though they picked far too well. How did the slates choose?
“Of course. Right now your physical body is asleep back in the real world. Though your mind is much more active than usual, you shouldn’t feel too fatigued when you return, I imagine. As long as you don’t strain yourself too much. But we are, after all, leisurely enjoying tea and conversation together. Nothing strenuous at all.” Echidona smiled, her eyes closing as she registered the Yellow King’s next question.
“Well, this place is a part of me, so.. If I had to say frankly, it would be my body fluids.” No sense in beating around the bush there. Besides, it was already too late. The woman had already consumed the ‘tea’ and therefore Echidona once more trained her eyes on her, studying her for any sort of reaction. Well, it was possible nothing would happen, or if something did it would happen slowly over time. All these possibilities were apart of her calculations.
“There’s plenty of tea so feel free to have your fill!” She clapped her hands together, smiling widely as if revealing that the tea ingredients were no big deal.
