Remember that every dollop of lotion you rub on your skin, every little nap you take to be well again, every glass of water you drink to take care of yourself, is blessed by Aphrodite. Sheās always there to have a moment with you.
Hail Ares!
He of an unbreakable will,
Protector of the weak, defender of the innocent,
The spirit of revolt, of the everlong fight!
Standing by our sides with shield and spear,
Echoing our cries of revolution with his very own!
There to lean on after a hard-fought battle,
And there to hug with everything you have after a bloody victory.
May He never leave my side, and may the strength to fight never leave my soul!

š Good day, Witches of Tumblr! š
Not everyone may have the habit of smoking, but smoking has always had a sacred purpose in every culture and many religions. The history of smoking began in shamanistic rituals that took place as early as 4000 bc. It is considered a very social activity and was used as a social tool.
While some may say the smell of smoke is unpleasant, and people donāt want it around them. But did you know you can smoke certain herbs, and actually make a very lovely tasting, and even pleasant smelling, blend? Some herbs are highly medicinal and can give you benefits. Keep reading if you want to know more!
š¹ āāāā¦āą¼» šæ ą¼ŗāā¦āāāāš¹
**Disclaimer**
it is very important you do the proper research to see if you can smoke a certain herb. Also if you start feeling sick after smoking it cease use of it immediately. You may be fine ingesting a certain herb, but you could have an allergy to smoking said herb. Please note that some of these could be poisonous if eaten, we are speaking of smoking only. I also donāt recommend replacing smoking herbs with getting medical treatment if you need assistance. Be very careful if you have health conditions and donāt smoke if youāre pregnant. I am also not trying to persuade you or anyone else to smoke!
š¹ āāāā¦āą¼» šæ ą¼ŗāā¦āāāāš¹

PLANTS CAN BE WITCHES TOO
Memento Mori by Sarah Lawless
āFor those who arenāt animists, this might be a hard thing to wrap your head around, but some plants are witches too. Not all plants, but a select number around the world are. Some plants are just natural sorcerers and magicians just like people with the powers to curse or heal, enchant or uncross. They each have their specialties. Itās not always the traditional poisonous plants associated with witchcraft either like the usual suspects of Aconite, Belladonna, Datura, Henbane, Mandrake, or Nightshades, no, sometimes itās a completely harmless plant most people wouldnāt even notice like Blackberry, Coltsfoot, Enchanterās Nightshade, ferns, Mugwort, and Mullein. Trees can be witches too, the most well known witch-trees being Blackthorn, Hawthorn, Elder, and Rowan.
I have always been very drawn to these sorcerous plants. They whisper spells, recipes for potions, and how to make them into talismans. Working with many of these plants is like being in a coven where each individual witch brings their own talents and knowledge to the table. Eventually you learn which pairings can be ācovensā that work best together and which donāt get along at all and shouldnāt be put in a herb coven. To keep it simple like seems to like their like. Herbs that ābelongā to certain deities are usually well-paired as they serve the same master or mistress. For the most part the Solanaceae get along together and that is why most of them are often found together in old flying ointment recipes. Conjure roots that both like moist wet soil pair well together like Sweetflag and False Solomonās Seal. Large woody roots with medicinal barks like Oregon Grape and Devilās Club also pair well together ā especially when it comes to protection, healing, and banishing evil spirits.
Alrauns, herbal root fetishes, are little witches and should be treated like a teacher or helper in the craft. They need to be fed, cared for, and talked to like a good friend or they will either curse the owner of the root or rescind all the help theyāve given and abandon the root they housed.
If we sorcerers start treating plants and trees like fellow magicians weād sure get a lot more from our work with them. Our spells and rites would work so much better with the aid of willing plant spirit allies rather than āherb correspondencesā. Letās make plants willing participants in our magic instead of dried inanimate objects we āhopeā will do something to enhance our magic and rites. Letās start telling the plants what weāre doing with them and why we need their help. Letās start thanking them in return for that help. Letās stop taking power from nature and start asking for it. We might just find that the dynamics and efficacy of our magic changes completely for the better.
Give a shit and get involved in the magical lives of plants! Research them, grow them, harvest them, talk to them, and work with them as partners in magic and ritual.ā
Man, I donāt like her all the time, but she has some good stuff, that Lawless.
Has anyone passed around a ritual or a ritual guide for the Black Moon tomorrow?I cant really find one, and im not so good at coming up with things on my own.
Table for reading regular playing cards for divination
Travellerās Hymn to Hathor
Mother Hathor, to you I pray
protect my travels every day.
You, Mistress of Foreign Places,
I beg of you to watch my paces.
And keep me safe in the dark,
O, pilot of the Evening Barque.
So no matter how far I roam
please, bring me back home.
I mixed a little DamianaĀ with my weed for valentines.
Salt scrub body wash is a great way to scrub off the negative energy of the day. Likewise, sugar scrub can scrub the bad out and infuse the good!

Was It A Sign?
Well, maybe. Maybe not. Here are some little things that may help you figure out if it was really a grand message or not! The more of these you have, the more likely it is.
š¦Itās unusual. Letās say you saw a deer. Sweet! Thatās cool, but if you live in a wooded area and deer are really common, itās really not that profound. It could be a message, or it could just be a deer.
š¦You asked for a sign. If you asked the universe or a certain deity for a sign, perhaps this is the follow through! For this type of thing, itās usually good to ask for something specific enough that you couldnāt expect it every day, but not so much that itās impossible. (My go to is a rose or a purple feather.) That way, you know that X thing is your sign without worrying too hard about it!
š¦It felt⦠different. Maybe the event isnāt terribly wild on its own, but it just really hit you, or the feeling was incredibly profound. Especially after doing research, and seeing how many things are symbols, your brain will make connections really quickly. That means sometimes we make something out of nothing. A strong emotional response is a good sign of a sign.
š¦It immediately felt like a sign. Letās say you see a rainbow, and itās really pretty. You enjoy it for a few minutes then go back inside. Later, you think, āHm, that could have been a sign.ā Maybe. But it also could be your brain going hey, I know things associated with rainbows! (In my opinion, this is the most important one. I feel like if you have to wonder if it was a sign, it wasnāt a sign. You might not know what itās a sign of, but you will know itās a sign. Thatās just my UPG, though.)
š¦Any post-research lines up. If you get a neat vision and run the details through Google, you may find details that line up with certain lore. Maybe you knew this before, maybe not. If you didnāt, and connections keep happening with surprising accuracy, itās a pretty good indicator!
š¦Think of why you want it to be a sign, if you do. Thereās a big narrative that everybody involved in magic, Paganism, etc. is constantly having these profound religious experiences. This simply isnāt true. Thereās no shame in wanting a story to share, or to feel special, or to āfit inā by getting signs from the universe. Sometimes we want signs for the sake of receiving signs, so if youāre trying to manufacture them by pulling on every little thing, youāre distracting yourself from enjoying the world exactly how it is. Donāt worry about signs and enjoy yourself. Animals and rainbows and all that are still pretty great even if every little thing doesnāt have a personal meaning.
