Yule Herbs 🌿
A WITCH’S COZY BUTTERNUT WINTER SOUP
This soup is sooooo good! It really puts me in the spirit for yule, and the ending of fall, into the transition of winter. Stir in a clockwise motion to bring cozy vibes into your houses atmosphere and dance to some winter songs to release stagnate energy from a days hard work! P.S. Yule Log Cake recipe coming up in a few day so look out for that !
Ingredients:
1 large butternut squash
1 large yellow onion
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 red pepper
2 cloves garlic
Salt and Pepper
1 tbsp tomato paste
1 sweet potato
3 cups chicken stock
Sprigs of thyme and rosemary
2 (28 oz) cans whole tomatoes
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp cinnamon
½ tsp ground ginger
¼ tsp ground cloves
½ tsp cayenne pepper
Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 375 F. Cut your butternut squash in half and scoop out the seeded part. Do the same for your red pepper and sweet potato. Brush with olive oil and season with the spices listed above. Bake for 1 ½ hours.
2. In a deep large pot, cook your onions and garlic until fragrant and translucent. Transfer that into a large food blender and add your tomatoes, pepper, flesh of your butternut squash and the insides of your sweet potato. Blend until very smooth and transfer back into the pot.
3. Add more seasoning to taste, chicken stock, and your sprigs of thyme and rosemary. Bring to a boil over high heat. Then turn it down to a lower heat, cover, and let simmer for at least 30 minutes.
4. Serve with grated parmesan, toasted bread, and laddle into bowls. Enjoy!
Stuffed Acorn Squash
A yummy vegetarian entree for my veggie witch friends this Yule!
Ingredients:
3 good-sized acorn squash
4 - 6 tbsp butter or margarine
2 garlic cloves, minched
1 medium carrot, diced
1 medium onion, chopped
1 celery stalk, strings removed, diced
1 cup cubed squash (pumpkin, acorn, butternut, hubbard, or kabocha)
½ cup mushrooms, diced
3 - 4 cups stale French or country bread, in bite-sized pieces
2 eggs, lightly beaten (OPTIONAL)
½ cup chopped fresh parsley
¼ cup chopped fresh sage (or 1 - 2 tbsp dried sage leaf)
1/3 cup chopped nuts (optional)
2 cups (or more) vegetable broth, salted
1 cup (or more) hot apple cider or sweet white wine (optional)
Preheat the oven to 350 F.
Wash the whole acorn squash and cut them into halves lengthwise. (This will make six bowls.) Remove the seeds and stringy stuff and set aside the cleaned acorn halves.
In a heavy skillet, heat the butter or margarine. Add the garlic, onion, carrot, celery, cubed squash, and mushrooms. Saute this mixture over medium-high heat until the vegetables are tender.
In a large bowl, mix the bread pieces, (eggs, if desired) parsley, sage, and chopped nuts. Add the sauteed vegetables to the bread mixture and stir to mix thoroughly, then add the vegetable broth and salt to taste. Continue to mix, squishing with your hands if you like, until the stuffing is very moist and soft.
Mount the stuffing into the squash halves, place the stuffed squash bowls on a large baking sheet, cover with foil, and bake until the squash is tender and the stuffing is done (about 1 hour).
Alternative: Place the stuffed squash in a baking dish into which you have poured a cup or more of hot apple cider or sweet white wine, leave halves uncovered, and baste every 15 minutes with pan juices until done.
Serve hot. Makes 6 stuffed squash bowls.

To Lady Hekate for protection during the night
Hear me, Light-bringer Hekate,
Daughter of Star-bright Asteria and Perses the Destroyer.
She who guided Holy Demeter on her search for Maiden Persephone, with her flaming torches that oversaw their reunion,
Tender-hearted Hekate who is worshipped as a protector of oikos and travel,
If I have ever honoured your spirits, accept this prayer, Mighty Hekate,
I ask for your protection during the night and to grant me safe passage to my destination,
I ask for your favour with a token of my praise, I offer to you (offering)

Friendly reminder I have an entire free website dedicated to Norse Heathen practice, including what it is and how to do it:

“Motivation”
Sigil magic is one of my favorite kinds and throughout my practice I’ve made so many so I figured why not share them with everyone! This one is obviously for motivation. Use it to give yourself a boost of motivation, in spells that may require it, or for anything else that your heart desires.
yall, please reblog and share this post because i am seeing more and more people taking road trips instead of flying. which i understand cause it’s cheaper and and safer cause of rona but i want you guys to stay safe.

⭐️ Strengthen Our Bond ⭐️
A couple people asked me to post the spell for the spell jar I made the other day! This is the first spell I’ve posted, so let me know if you need clarification with anything. I’m happy to answer any questions 💖
This spell jar is intended to create a stronger connection with your loved one and protect the connection from weakening.
Note: Any of these ingredients can be substituted, omitted, or things can be added for a more specific intent.
What you’ll need:
A cute jar! *Himalayan Pink Salt - friendship, love and purification *Rose Petals - healing, love and protection *Peppermint Leaves - love, lust and protection (use tea if you don’t have mint leaves on you!) I also used peppermint flowers because they’re so pretty 😊 *Coltsfoot - love and peace *Rose Quartz - friendship, happiness and love *Amethyst - peace and protection *Apple seeds - love, protection and purification. (And fertility if that’s what you’re going for) *Lavender - happiness, love, peace, protection and purification *Jasmine - love Incense - I used strawberry for love (and it smells really good!) but you can use jasmine, rose, or lavender if you’d like! String (pink if you have it!) White and pink candles A funnel for the herbs if you need it!
* - going into the jar
So first I layered all of the ingredients in the order they are listed in the jar. Focus on the correspondence you feel in each item as you place them into the jar. Then, I sealed the jar with white and pink wax. Practice fire safety when doing this, please! And don’t get wax in your carpet like I did.
Next comes the string - it’s a perfect opportunity to incorporate knot magick if you practice that! Visualize the connection between you and your lover growing tighter and stronger as you pull the knot closed. Giving it a few extra tugs doesn’t hurt!
Finally, I passed the spell jar through my incense and sung a love song. If you’re not comfortable singing, try saying a poem out loud that reminds you of your beloved!
I’m planning to give this jar to my beloved on Valentine’s Day, but you can always give it to yourself for some self-love 💕
“Feel A Little Better” Bath Spell
A simple bath spell for when you feel at your lowest.
You will need:
Rose Quartz
Rose Petals
Mint
Tea Lights (any candles would work though)
This spell is best performed at night, before bed.
Draw yourself a bath, and light your candles. Set them (safely!) around your bathroom and turn off any harsh lights. Sprinkle in your mint (for starting fresh) and your rose (for self love) and get into the bath.
Take your rose quartz and hold it close. Pour your emotions into it and visualize the steam from the bath rising through the crystal and taking them away. Breathe in the scent of the mint and rose and feel yourself being filled with positive emotion. Meditate on these feelings for a moment before getting out of the bath.
Feel free to make yourself a cup of tea from the same herbs afterwards.
Just as you found this post, may you find money flowing effortlessly into your life from henceforward.
Blessed are you who read this. Manifest the receiving an abundance of money now. As the universe has been good to you, be good to another. Bless a friend and bless a stranger.
Reblog to cast and pass the blessing!
Blanca Bitchcraft
This is such a cool idea 😍
I don’t know who needs to hear this but
Do NOT cast spells for positive effects that involve:
Burning a picture of yourself*
Burning a piece of paper that anywhere contains your name*
Burning a piece of hair or other taglock*
*Unless you really know what you’re doing
I don’t know how sigil culture got people to think that burning anything = sending it off for spirits, but NO. Across pretty much every magical practice, burning involving a person = destruction. Burning as a means of generically sending things off is mainly used for offerings.
On a similar vein, do not cast spells for positive effects that involve taking a human figure and ripping up, burning, submerging in soil or water, or doing anything else to that figure that would maim or kill a real human. (unless you really know what you’re doing)
Remember the Law of Similarity. Destruction of an image = destruction of the thing itself.
Keep in mind that some crystals don’t like sun, salt, or water :)
