“Sounds fair enough.” Smiling Tae watches the woman’s actions.

“Tae-Yun” Thinking about the words she makes a face. What did she want to know? She wanted to know plenty of things about herself. But would it be better to just look for one thing? “I suppose… love.”

“oh? that’s interesting. people usually end up too embarrassed to actually ask for their love line right off the bat. alright,” ravana leaned in closer to the girl’s hand and looked over the lines that were engraved in her palm. “your line starts with a split. two faint lines, then then turns into a very defined set line. so you can expect to come to some kind of crossroads where you have to decide whether you want to be with a person, or choose between two people, or something of that kind of nature. it seems like it’d be smooth sailing after that though.”

“Yeah,” Kasim responded, looking back at her. Unknowingly, he felt the same. There was no way to ask if she was human without putting himself out there in a way he wasn’t comfortable with. “I’m starting to feel like this town has that effect on…people.” If she understood the implications of his words, it meant she wasn’t human. If she didn’t, it wasn’t a strange enough sentence to raise any alarm.

“Yeah,” he replied. “Fingers crossed.”

ravana eyed him for a moment as he spoke with suggestion. she knew the queues that people gave about their species. she relaxed back against the brick behind her and nodded. “alright then.” she smiled. a new curiosity came over her as she wondered just what kind of super he was. she had a few assumptions, but you never could ever really tell. “well, as politely as a can put it; what exactly are you?”

“Yeah, I’m sure that there is something around here that we can waste time with.” She replied as she rested for a moment.

“you know, it almost feel ironic. i’ve always wanted to come in here to get a coffee but next got the chance to.”

“I don’t think there’s a good kind,” Kasim said, drawing one last hit off his cigarette before stomping it under foot and rising to his feet. “Some of us just get lucky with the results of our bad fate,” he mused, exhaling his smoke through his nose once more. “Yeah, packing and unpacking isn’t my style. And I know what you mean about apartment rules. Not my style either. A lease is so…binding.” He leaned back against the wall, pressing his palms against the brick. “I’m starting to think there’s something pretty binding about this whole town, though,” he said, looking past Ravana to the opening of the alleyway where flocks of people still bustled by in panick.

“yeah...” she pressed her lips into a flat line. she didn’t know if this guy was part of the supernatural community or not. she wanted to say that some people in the town had no choice but to be there. they were some supers sentenced to be watched. she wasn’t about to put herself out there like that without having at least a hunch though. “some people just can’t manage to get out.” she murmured a bit dismissively. “give it a few minutes and the crowds will relax. hopefully we won’t have to camp out here for too long.”

“It’s fine, take your time.” She replied softly as she continued to apply the gauze to her cut. “I think that it would be best to hide out here, I don’t want to back outside for another little while.”

“yeah, i think you’re right.” ravana softly smiled as she finished up the last bit of bandaging the girl’s head. “maybe we can find something to occupy us while we’re here.” she hummed out as she looked around the room.

“What, you got a lot of experience with fate?” Kasim asked, quirking an eyebrow. “I wouldn’t know about fate, I guess. Not my department, but I think fate’s thrown me a bone or two.” He shook Ravana’s hand as firmly as she shook his. “The pleasure’s all mine,” he drawled. “I’m all about bad timing. That’s why I’m calling it fate.” He stretched, loosely clamping the cigarette between his teeth and talking around it. “I have no plans so far. I’ve been more or less in and out of my car for years. No need to settle if you live in your car, yeah?” He laughed to himself, smoke puffing out of his nose.

ravana smirked at the idea of having experience with fate. “i guess so, but not the good kind.” she answered. it sounded dramatic, but it felt accurate at least.  she understood how living out of your car could be such a plus in his situation. “yeah, if you move a lot then never really having to pack and unpack is pretty convenient.” she mused and she took a finalizing draw from her cigarette. dropping the butt she stepped it out before looking back over him. “i kind of did that when i was staying in seattle.” she nodded. “city apartment life didn’t like me all that much. i’m too loud, and there’s so many rules just to live somewhere, ya know.”

Kasim scoured her face for any tells that she wasn’t being truthful. It took her too long to answer the question and he smirked. “Ain’t cheap enough if you ask me,” he said, smirk widening. He took a slow drag off his cigarette and nodded as he exhaled. “I hoped it wouldn’t be like this all the time. That would be too much for me. I’d be packing up sooner than I thought.” He looked down at the cigarette between his fingers and flicked off the ash. “What brought me here? No reason, really,” he said, the corners of his lips playing up into another smirk. “Fate. Destiny. Some shit like that made me circle Asteria Falls, yeah?” It wasn’t really a question so much as a statement, but he offered the woman a toothy grin and extended a hand. “I’m Kasim, by the way. And you are…?”

ravana rolled her eyes playfully. “claiming fate seems a bit loaded.” she closed her eyes and let out a breath, tasting the smoke that rolled off of her tongue. “fate didn’t choose this place. it never does.” she smirked and extended her hand back out to him. she took it and have it a firm shake. “ravana. it’s lovely to meet you kasim.” she greeted him genuinely. “i hope that you end up with better luck while you’re here. you certainly seemed to come in at the actual worst timing possible. you have any idea on where you’re going to end up staying once you settle?”

Lecia stayed still, brushing her hair from her face once again as she came over with the gauze. She winced a little as she started to put it on but soon a small smile appeared on her lips. “Just a little.”

ravana gave an apologetic smile. “sorry. i’m almost done.” she reassured as she used a band aide to attach the gauze. “done... would you want to hide out in here for awhile? or we can find somewhere else to keep safe too.”

Kasim accepted the lighter, lighting his own cigarette and passing it back. He let out an easy, breathy laugh and let his head drop back against the brick. “Too damn small is right,” he said, looking at his companion. “Smallest town I been in for awhile.” He pulled his knees up to his chest and rested his elbows on his knees. “Nah, I’m not from here. Just breezed in or whatever. Not usually my style, a town like this.” He drew another quick breath of his cigarette and exhaled slowly. “What about this place makes you stay? I can’t ever seem to find a place to settle.” He leaned forward to look down the alley toward the crowd. “’specially not a town this…wild. It ain’t always like this, is it?” 

ravana tucked the lighter back in her pocket and nodded. thinking on what kept her here was hard. she looked down at the ground and sighed. what kept her here? a best friend. a house that was left to her by her late parents. her clients. a lost love. there was a lot that anchored her down. she didn’t want to get into all of that through. “no reason really.” she lied. “cheap. convenient.” she shrugged. “it’s not like this typically. i mean, sometimes. it’s usually a semi annual kinda thing.” which was sad in it’s own right, but she brushed it off. “what brought you here? it’s not exactly a circled on most people’s maps.”

She winced a little as she began to clean up the blood off of her forehead, it catching the wound just a little bit. “They better, they have to have it close by.” She replied.

ravana hunted around for a short amount of time before she found one. it was pretty bare; only having a couple pieces of gauze and a few band aides. it wasn’t a lot but it would do for now. “let me see that again.” she leaned in and started to place the gauze on the injured girl’s wound. “sorry if that hurts...” she apologized with a half smile.

Kasim followed as close as he could, trying to look out for himself, but also this woman. Once they were safely out of the way, he dropped to the ground, leaning against the wall beside her. “I don’t run. Like ever. My lungs aren’t made for running,” he said, patting his pockets looking for his lighter before realizing he’d probably dropped it. “I don’t know what’s going on. D’you have a light? I dropped mine,” Kasim said, still panting. “Gunshots and shit and now everyone’s goin’ ballistic.” 

ravana let out a breath, leaning her head against the brick of the wall behind her. “running’s not my strong suit either.” she admitted as she reached in her pocket out pulled out her pack of cigarettes. her lighter was safely tucked i the clear plastic that held the pack. she pulled it out with the intention of handing it over to the stranger but it made her realize that she desperately needed one as well. lighting her own first, she then handed it over to him. “this town is too damn small for this level of shit.” she muttered, letting out a satisfied breath of smoke. “you’re not from here.” she commented, getting a better look of him. she realized that the statement probably sounded strange. “i grew up here so i can tell. you new? or been here for awhile?”

Kasim scanned their surroundings for any other option. The crowd just kept on coming, so he gave a curt not and gestured for his savior to go. “Ladies first,” he said, side stepping so that he could make sure she would be safe from behind. The alleyway wasn’t perfect, but it seemed good enough for the time being. They could both lay low until all the commotion had died down a bit. Plus, he needed to get the hell out of the way in case the police were involved when he had drug paraphenalia on his person. 

ravana took a breath and started off running. she made sure that the stranger was behind her as they made their way the short distance to the alley way. pulling off into the narrow path, she gripped his arm and pulled him in as well. heavy breaths and nervous looking around followed before she plopped against one of the buildings walls. “christ, you okay?” she breathed out. “what the hell is going on here? everything seemed so chill just a few moments ago.”

Lecia was so glad that she had ran in to her as if she didn’t, she would have been wandering around for quite some time. She followed her in to the back room of a nearby coffee shop.  She brushed some of her hair out of her face so she could get a good look at it. “I…I feel light headed.”

ravana looked over the wound on lecia’s head. it looked like she had taken a nasty fall. “yeah, i can see why you do.” her hands grabbed some towels and patted it over the girl’s forehead to soak up some of the blood that trickled down. “i wonder of they have a first aid kit here...” she hummed as she looked around

CHAOTIC EVIL

A chaotic evil character does whatever their greed, hatred, and lust for destruction drive them to do. They are hot-tempered, vicious, arbitrarily violent, and unpredictable. If they are simply out for whatever he can get, they are ruthless and brutal.

Kasim had literally just come into town. He parked his car and wandered, cigarette in his mouth, not a single care given. That is, until he heard something that sounded like gunshots. He supposed it could be fireworks, but a scream immediately after the shot was enough to tell him that he needed to get the hell out. Not to attract attention, Kasim turned heal and started fast walking away as the crowd surged around him. Back turned, he hadn’t even seen that he was in someone’s way until he was being pulled out of the path of the man. “F-fuck,” he stammered, eyes wide as he reeled. He looked at the woman that had grabbed him, then back at the frenzied crowd. “I don’t know, but I think I heard gunshots, so my thought is we should get the hell outta dodge, lady.” 

“we certainly have the same thought process.” she muttered as she watched the seemingly endless flow of people. her eyes looked over the man. she didn’t recognize him and figured that he must be new. “okay, so there’s a break in the buildings just up there. we can probably get into that alley way and chill out and hide for awhile.” it wasn’t necessarily the best plan, but it was definitely better than standing only slightly to the side of a panicked crowd. her eyes looked back and and waited for enough of a break in the people that was big enough for them to safely make a run for it. once she saw one, she prepared herself. “unless you have any better idea this is our chance.”

It wasn’t exactly how she expects her night to end with. Running aimlessly from the woods, just minutes after the fireworks began, followed by the gunshots. She was no longer with Kita, who was off to find his sister. Making the most useful of herself, Luna looked around and began to lead the people away from the scene. The only way she could think of was the clearings not far from where she stood. As she turned around, she feels an arm yanked her to the side just a slight moment before someone trampled into her. A familiar face greeted her sight as she nodded.

“–Yeah, I’m fine and I’m afraid I don’t know about it yet.. Are you alright?”

“yeah, i just walked out of the cafe into all of this madness.” she answered. more heards of people were coming through and she knew that they needed to get out of there fast. “come on let’s get out of here...” her hand locked onto the other girl’s wrist to ensure that they wouldn’t get separated. “my place is at the edge of town or if you know of anywhere closer that can work too. let’s buddy-system this though.”

THE VAMPIRE CLOSED HIS EYES AS HE LEANED INTO HER TOUCH. “ i don’t really know what’s wrong with me. i just.. i just know something’s wrong — something feels so wrong. ” he tried to explains, hands clasping together as if to stop the shaking. “ i thought getting the book would be easy. well, it was. but the consequences were apparently, not. ”

he opened his eyes, looking up at the witch. “ i stole the book from the wrong people. ”

ravana quietly nodded her head and assessed his behaviors. he was trembling. whoever he did take it from sure made a point to fuck him up in the process. she pressed her lips into a flat line with suspicion before taking his wrist and pushing the sleeve up his forearm. her eyes scanned his skin, stopping once she sees marking that looked like under-skin tattoo peeking through. “you’ve been cursed.” she said simply. standing up from her spot she moved across the room and grabbed a book. she flipped through for a few moments trying to find the right page. “did they touch you and say some kind of spell in latin? or was it from a distance?”
