Do you see this?  The loveliness of the beautiful sugar filled coma that I, sadly, am not about to partake in.  Someone had the brilliant moment in life where they had all of these things together in a single moment in time and space.

I am jealous.  

I know its not very Christian to be a glutoneous jealous type.  But just look at that sugary goodness.

I love that after four years of advanced study, it is Shel Silverstein's poetry that I see and immediately recognize.  I love that it is the only poetry that I know from the top of my head.  I love that no matter how tired or grumpy or hungry I am, it is the poetry that can make me smile.

I love Shel Silverstein.  He is one of the reasons I started scribbling words onto the page, and he continues to be one of the reasons I pick up collections in the dark and lonely hours.

So thank you, dear poet.  For you have written the world for me.

Dear Potterheads,

I always wonder how Hermione's scar healed.  How she carried it with her, as a proud badge of her work against the dark arts, or a forgotten mark of the past, or a hidden identifier of her past.  It very much reminds me of the post-Concentration Camp marks of Holocaust survivors.  Every person must bear their scars, but it is how we carry them that marks us.
