Last year, I was introduced to a fabulous shopping app and website that had a powerful message behind its mission. Orange Harp is a unique and special company that have one of kind products from companies that have ties to giving back to the community in some way or another.
With gift giving season right around the corner, and coming right off my birthday yesterday, it’s the best time to start looking at what you might be giving a loved one in December!

Just like floral prints I discussed yesterday, tropical prints are big this summer too! Who would have thought that the shirts from a Halloween “Tacky Tourist” costume are making a positive fashion statement. I for one am a huge fan of the look. It gives a more laid back approach to the floral look. This Forever 21 shirt is super versatile. It works with muted tones of sea foam green, white and…

Study Abroad: The Perfect 10!
Study Abroad: The Perfect 10!
I don’t even know where to begin when it comes to summarizing this semester without feeling a sense of joy and sadness as I close this amazing chapter of my college experience and of my life. As this last week in London has come to a close, it’s crazy to believe that these 5 months are over and it’s time to head back to “reality” when this semester has been nothing short of unreal. When I look…

I’m writing this blog in complete shock that this is my last post about traveling outside of London. For the last destination of these five months, we decided on going to somewhere really different from anywhere any of us had seen in Europe with a beach climate to escape the rather grey and wet London we’d been experiencing the last couple of weeks. Greece was a country on my bucket list I was stunned that I could manage to get to this semester and I couldn’t be happier that I got to spend five days there.
The first stop was Athens, where we traveled the city center ruins like the Parthenon at the Acropolis. Although a bit of a trek up the hill, it was totally worth it and having the sun beaming down on us didn’t hurt either.
We took a ferry to the island of Santorini the second night from Athens and woke up the next morning in our hostel, which with a pool and double bed, and felt like a luxury hotel suite ;). The day was spent tanning at Perrisa Beach before getting ourselves to the city of Fira for a one of a kind of view of the island.
The second full day in Santorini included renting ATVs and exploring the island (a must do if you go!) We stopped by the Red Sea, Akrotiri, and Pygros before going to the other end of the island to the city of Oia, where we got the perfect view of the sunset and saw the more traditional white buildings with blue roofs while having some donkeys interrupt our dinner. Seeing the entire island and watching the clouds fall over the mountains on the ATV was something I’ll never forget.
Of course being on the island made our journey home a lengthy one, including bus rides, a 7 hour ferry, and a 6 hour camp out in the Athens airport but the struggle home was completely worth it. I loved the Greek culture where everyone treats you like family and I couldn’t get enough baked feta or pita bread.
Now I’m heading into the final TEN days of being in London and I know I’ll go by so fast but will be an amazing week and half.

King Of the Court
Just the other day I was singing to the tune of “Seizing the May” and only four days in, so much has happened: a trip to Wales, a visit to a palace and the Royal Baby arrived! Although I had nothing to do with that last part, Princess Charlotte has London a buzz as UK’s newest tabloid star and the city is celebrating by lighting up all the major monuments in a shade of pink!
The day the Royal…

Seize the May!
April might not have showered, but it did bring May, and at quicker pace than usually I might ad. With only 30 days left of this amazing semester abroad, it’s the final countdown to make the most of my time in London. So far, I’ve been lucky enough to see a lot of countries, meet lots of people and do things I hadn’t even imagine I would be able to do. Today I have no trip details or outfit post…

Pretty In Prague
Yesterday you read about my trip to Berlin, but while I was there, I was able to take two day trips to see other parts of Germany and Europe. One day I spent the afternoon in Prague, Czech Republic and the following day, a day trip to Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp, which was eye opening experience.
A long morning on the train to Prague, which took about 5 hours, gave us just about the same…

Beauty in Berlin
I think after every trip I say that it was the “longest trip” or “longest weekend of my life” but perhaps this time I actually mean it! Although I’ve been to Germany once before, Munich about 8 years ago, Berlin was a completely different city and we managed to jam it full of history, sites and as much food as possible. I’m splitting my long weekend into two parts, today focuses on Berlin, which…

Home Sweet Stockholm
As promised,  I’m posting about part two of my Scandinavian Spring led me to the capital of Sweden, Stockholm! Even more so than Denmark, I came with little knowledge on the country, only having IKEA and Chicago brunch staple Ann Sather’s as references. To no surprise it was even better than I expected! Once landing we navigated our way to the shopping strip of Stockholm and later sat at a park…

Even when you’re living abroad and everyday is “Spring Break,” you sometimes need a break from spring break. After my family came for the first week, I got to travel to two parts of Scandinavia, Denmark and Sweden. All the trips I’ve been on thus far have been very planned and I’ve had a lot of knowledge on the destination and what it looked like. Scandinavia is a place that I knew nothing about, barely doing a Google image search on the two cities I went to with.
The first destination was Copenhagen, Denmark! When looking into Spring Break trips, I found a cheap flight and figured why not, and now it’s probably one of my favorite places I’ve been to in a really long time. We were greeted with sunshine as we walked around the city, stumbling upon the famous nyhavn canal filled with color buildings and sail boats.
After exploring on foot, we hopped on a boat cruise and got a brief history lesson on the city before walking to an amazing dinner at an Italian restaurant. If there’s one thing I will do when I travel, it’s make a good reservation.
Like I said, I didn’t know much about Copenhagen but I read that Tivoli Gardens was a must see, and luckily it was two blocks away form our hostel. Tivoli Gardens is part garden part amusement park and it was equally fun as it was beautiful. Seeing a Danish version of “It’s a small world” and riding themed rides was a fun break from my normal travel agenda.
After the park, we finished off our day with a great dinner and got ready to head to Stockholm. Safe to say Denmark left it’s mark on me and the colors of Copenhagen are unmatched! A beautiful city to see as spring comes into full bloom!
My post on Sweden to follow soon,

First and foremost, Happy St. Patrick’s Day!, or as I learned from the Irish, St. Paddy’s Day. Today’s post goes hand in the hand with the holiday because I spent the weekend where it began, Ireland.
I got into Cork, Ireland on Friday Morning and was welcoming by clear skies and lush green fields. The instant we stepped into the cab, we were greeted by a friendly taxi driver who was giving us ideas on what to do. As the trip went on, I realized that Irish people are probably the friendliest and most helpful people I’ve experienced in a long time! They are willing to give you travel tips, directions and are really funny.
The first day was spent walking around Cork and seeing the city center. The best parts were the Old English Market with holiday decorations and meat, fish and fruit stands and we also stopped by Saint Finn Barre’s Cathedral which was a gorgeous and look almost haunted.
The next morning we ventured to Dublin for some St. Paddy’s Day exploring. After a two and half hour train ride, we went straight to the Guinness Storehouse that can be best described as the beer version of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. After pouring the perfect pint there, we headed to Temple bar and did some pub crawling. I was so happy I got to spend the holiday weekend there because I got to witness the holiday culture first hand.
Our final day in Ireland took us to the beautiful and famous Blarney Castle. It’s not just a castle, it’s a picturesque park with gardens and caves leading up to the the famous Blarney Stone, which after waiting 90 mins, I kissed and the myth is that you gain eloquence after doing so. (fingers crossed)
I really enjoyed Ireland because the people were so welcoming and the sites were beautiful, a perfect way to spend St. Paddy’s Day weekend!

Don’t you love when you hit that stride in your shopping? As someone who prides themselves on a good sale, having a few shopping successes in a row truly makes my week. Today’s post features not one but two different pieces I’ve found here that I could not be more excited about in the scenic and rustic Notting Hill area.

I’ve mentioned this in another post since I’ve been here, but seriously, whoever said the food in London wasn’t good must have been in a different London because I’ve found that this city is chock full of amazing places to eat. One place that is guaranteed to have the best food is one of the many street markets. Since being here, I’ve been to handful, with hopes of going to more.
The markets are chaotic but for all the right reasons. Each with unique food stands, varying from spiced wines, giant cookies and food from every country you can imagine. So far I’ve been to Camden Market, perhaps the busiest and largest of the three I’ve seen. It has a great variety of foods and I chowed down on a shrimp burger. Greenwich Market was smaller but the choices seemed more speciality including ramen noodle burgers, and gourmet donuts. My most recent market trip was to Borough Market, which was a little more upscale but still impressive. Sipping on sangria and people watching is the perfect way to spend a Saturday in London.
More food Instagrams (are there really enough?) and posts coming soon! Have a good week!

Fashion Week-ness
Before I get to today’s post, let’s all have a collective freakout for the fact that it’s MARCH! Honestly not sure where February went but that’s not to say it wasn’t a great month. Although it may be the shortest month of the year, it also could be considered the most fashionable month too. February is when the biggest names in fashion come together for Fashion Week in cities like New York,…

The best thing about being abroad is that you can make a weekend into a two country vacation! This past weekend I went to Amsterdam and Brugge, both unique and different from any city I’ve been to before. Although the weekend went by quickly, that didn’t mean we didn’t do our best to get as much in as possible.
We were greeted in Amsterdam by a river boat cruise. Although raining, it was clear that Amsterdam is a beautiful city with lots of history. We walked around the famous Red Light District which was really interesting to see and then explored the night life. The next morning we took a little trip to Zaanse Schans, which was like a little Holland Disney World with clogs, cheese and windmills, what else could you really want?
The rest of the day was ours to explore the city, tour the Anne Frank House and have one last night in Amsterdam. In the morning, a 3 hour bus ride took us to Brugge, which was honestly the highlight of the trip for me. I stopped in a French Frie Museum (no one loves fries more than me) walked up the Belfry and got a Belgium waffle of course.
These trips, whether big or small, all have great stories and keep me grateful for this experience!

An American Redcoat
New Post! An American Redcoat
Even though it took me some time, I finally have an outfit post for London! Between classes, traveling and everything else in between, I just haven’t felt strongly enough about anything outfit wise to post, until now. London shopping is no joke and I’m so happy I found something worthy to purchase and share with you.
The British army was famously called “Redcoats” during the American Revolution…
