📚Dorm Room Witch Tips📦

While you’re getting ready to move into your dorm room, keep these tips in mind to help create a witchy experience for you in the dorm.

📦 Take a small box with you. Fill it with your tools and keep it under the bed or on your desk. It conceals it from others’ eyes (you can also have it open if you’re open with your craft) while it’s near you and it helps to keep things organized and out of the way. 📦 Bring a blanket, rug, towel, or tapestry with you. You can keep these things folded under your bed and then lay them out when you feel like meditating or praying. You can also use these for your work space if your desk doesn’t have enough room to work with. 📦 Change your alarm clock noise to sound like a bell if it’s possible. Each time it goes off, it will cleanse the room. 📦 Use an essential oil diffuser as a substitute to incense or candle smoke. A cheap way to diffuse oils is to pour the essential oil of your choice on some Himalayan pink salt. This will also cover up any gross smells from the cafeteria or other peoples’ microwaves. 📦 If you have a window, keep crystals on the windowsill (unless they fade in sunlight). This keeps them off your desk and it also looks really pretty! 📦 You can also make a mobile with your crystals as long as they aren’t too big. You can hang this anywhere in your room and it won’t take up a lot of space. 📦 Use fake candles or fire salt instead of real candles. Most dorms don’t allow open flames, so do not risk getting caught for a spell. Use a substitute instead, which can be fake candles, fire salt, chili pepper, or any other symbol of the element.  📦 Enchant, like, everything. If you can find a purpose for an object, enchant it. Want to enchant your desk chair to be more comfortable? Do it. Want to enchant your desk to help you get your homework done? Do it. Want to enchant your clothes to keep attention away from you? Go ahead. Make life easier with some enchantments! 📦 Bring a chalkboard or a dry erase board. It doesn’t have to be huge, but these can be really handy, especially if you use them for sigils. You can draw whatever sigils on them whenever you like and erase those you don’t want to have around anymore. Simply charge them (perhaps with an enchanted marker) after you draw them! 📦 Bring something to motivate or reconnect you with witchcraft. During school, we may fall out of practice. School gets busy and tough, so don’t feel down about not being able to practice 24/7, but definitely bring something to motivate you for those days when you are free and could be practicing, but you don’t because you may be feeling disconnected or something. It could be a poster, crystal, sachet, or a charm. Have it where you can see and touch it- it could be above your bed, on your desk, wherever. Use it to help you practice again.

Don’t assume that burying automatically means straight in the earth, or not on one’s property. It could mean buried in a flower pot, in a box in a garden bed, wrapped in protective material and buried under a rose bush etc.

Common sense goes a long way in witchcraft.

📚Back to School Witch Tips⏰

📌 Enchant your calendar and/or syllabus so you can remember important deadlines 📌 Enchant blue pens so you can remember the notes you write. It’s said that blue ink helps your memory! 📌 If you’re a secret witch, use a school notebook as a grimoire or book of shadows 📌 Put tea bags in your gym shoes to make them smell nicer and to leave behind the correspondences of the tea bags 📌 Put mint and rosemary in a sachet and carry it with you to help your memory 📌 Put sigils on your school supplies to help you remember important notes and/or for extra luck on tests 📌 Before you eat breakfast or a snack, say or think a chant with the intent to boost your energy and/or memory 📌 Enchant your headphones so they last longer and so that they are hidden from the teachers’ eyes 📌 Enchant your papers before turning them in with the intent that your teacher will enjoy what you wrote 📌 Use a ruler as a wand if you need a wand and don’t have one on you 📌 If you have glasses, enchant your glasses so that you can easily read textbooks and help remember important notes from them 📌 Put a sigil on your alarm clock so that it’s loud enough to wake you up so you won’t miss your classes

Help a disabled agender kid battle dysphoria

I say kid, I’m 21. But I do battle dysphoria every single day, and having top surgery would improve my mental and physical health drastically. I have EDS, a chronic condition that causes joint instability and widespread chronic pain, and binding every day, to give the appearance of a flat chest, is causing me additional back pain, as well as weakening my upper back muscles and making my shoulders more unstable. 

I’ve been outed to my parents as agender, but they don’t support my goal of getting top surgery and so I have to raise this money myself or deal with dysphoria for another 4 or 5 years at least to get top surgery on the NHS. Being disabled and in full-time education makes finding a job, and by extension saving money, really hard. I’m doing what I can, but I would be incredibly grateful for any spare change you could send me - if all my followers donated just £2, I would reach my goal. My partner is offering perks in the forms of art commissions and fidget toys, and I can offer tarot readings in return for a donation.

Pen Enchantment Spell

A spell to enchant your pen to improve your writing, drawing, and creativity when using it.

You Will Need:

✒ Aventurine ✒ Carnelian ✒ Howlite ✒ Clear Quartz ✒ Sigil for Creativity

Steps:

✒ Cleanse yourself and your pen before performing spell

✒ In a cleared space place down your pen on top of the sigil you drew for creativity

✒ Encircle your pen with the crystals listed above in however manner you personally like

✒ Hover your hands above your pen

✒ “I enchant you, to bring me ideas, as I hold you in my hand, I will be inspired. I enchant you.” and repeat ‘I enchant you’ for as long as you desire.

✒ Leave over night once you finish the chant to ensure it gets well charged and enchanted by the energies of the sigil and the crystals

Note: cleanse pen regularly in salt or in the moonlight to keep negativity and art/writing block away from it

Astral Projection 101

This will be an extremely basic explanation of how astral projection works. This is only one of several paths to the astral. Many also use lucid dreaming. I will break it into three steps. At each step there are countless methods and tricks, and you will need to find one that works for you. Trance Induction: First, you must be in the right mindset. This is also the first step of hypnosis and most meditation. It may be achieved by breathwork, visualizations, and many other methods. I will include my favorite. Lay down comfortably, relax, deep breaths. In through nose out through mouth. Focus on one muscle at a time and relax each one from the toes up. Leaving Your Body: The next step is bilocation, the out of body experience. Now that you are in a trance state, visualize moving the self without the body. For this you must become conscious that you are not your body. You are a soul wearing a body. A meat suit. Feel where your body ends and you begin. Feel that you are inside your body but not part of it. Now attempt to move your true self, your etheric body, without moving the meat suit. Starting with a finger is easiest. Once you can do that, slowly sit up out of your body. Look around, stand up and look back at your unoccupied body. You may also be able to see the “silver cord” of energy which connects you to your body when you are not in it. This is how you will be able to find your way back if you get into real trouble. Enter Another Plane: Now you need to leave this plane for another. There are countless visualizations for this. Stepping through a mirror, climbing a tree, or a mountain. A staircase into the earth for other planes. Some form of crossing a boundary, preferably symbolic of your destination, and with a firm idea in your mind of where you want to go.

This is wonderful, and, again, many routes for this. Find what works for you!

I personally settle into a deep meditative state and reach that boundary where you feel like you’re asleep even though you know you aren’t? Yup, that’s the one. Once there, I just chill until I pull myself outside of my physical body.

“How do you get back to your body?” you may be wondering. Well, I bilocate–I’m both in my body and my happy little soul self about to go into astral for a bit. There’s a mark on my astral body that is basically a “gtfo and get back into real body.” Yes, there have been occasions I have hastily hauled ass, but those are for another day. Maybe. [Someone should ask. Super obvious hint here.]

Anyway. Cute little soul, still bound to body so there’s a solid way back. Y no Astral Plane?

Like Dove said, visualization. DON’T EVER ASTRAL WITHOUT A CLEAR DESTINATION. I almost got seriously in trouble with this one spirit cause I was in a place I soooo should not have been. You don’t want to throw yourself into the full astral plane off bat, either, especially not prepared. It’s like an mmo. Don’t be the level 1 rookie that walks into the world thinking you can own shit. Visualize some space that is your own–yes, you can do this (astral plane is legit, fam). This is a great place to practice, familiarize, and interact with any sort of companions you may have.

Now, how to get to the visualized place is really up to you. Some use stairs. Some climb up. Some are as simple as opening a door. Me? I dive. I literally picture myself floating on the water’s surface of the physical plane, and, once I’m ready, I dive into the depths to reach the Astral Plane. It’s what works for me.

And there you go. This is a hot topic for people, especially people just starting out. I found that hearing more personal accounts helped me, so I hope this helped! I wish you the best and BE SAFE.

And yes, as I’ve said elsewhere many times, the astral plane is as dangerous and as safe as the physical one, and spirits are as dangerous or as safe as living humans. Which is to say listen to your survival instincts and don’t go places that feel unsafe or trust people too deeply if you don’t know them.

Absolutely! Secular witchcraft is definitely a thing.

Atheist Witchcraft is a thing! And is definitely the thing anon is looking for.

If anon is looking to practice nonreligiously, then they are looking for atheistic secular witchcraft. Secular is not the equivalent of Atheism.

Depending on how anon practices with those energy beliefs there, anon could be doing a religion. There are many atheistic religions (sometimes in the occult, sometimes not), so there might already be an established religion for anon if thats what they want to do.
