Always Out Living Everyone || Sarah
“You’re always so thoughtful, I swear you memory is a thousand times better than mine.” Bucky praises as he relaxes back for a moment. He would get up soon to throw their trash in a bin on the quinjet, but for now he was enjoying the morning with the love of his life. He had known that this would be the longest that she was away from her boys. So, he wanted to do all he could to make her feel more secure in it.
“Remember when I was away on a recon mission a couple months ago for a few weeks and you and your boys called me every night? I know they’ll call you. Probably more than once a day too. Their evening will be our mornings.” Mentioning it while he takes one of Sarah’s hands into his own. Smiling with a nod. “Super mama has super friends. I can text Pete now if you’d like just to give him a heads up. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind swinging by if we ask him to.”
His expression softening, knowing how Sam would get sentimental when he was home with them. Even with Bucky having taken on somewhat of a fatherly role to Sarah’s boys, he didn’t cut off the moments that Sam had shared with his girlfriend’s kids. “He definitely deserves an uncle week with Cass and AJ.”
“It’s not that I’m worried about being away from them, they’ve spent days... weeks... away from home before. This is nothing.” She shrugs slightly, though she can’t help the little furrow in her brows. “I’m moreso worried about Sam, who I know is very capable and can handle this. But, it’s his first time having alone time with the boys for an extended period of time. He promised to call if anything went wrong or he needed help or something happens. I think it’s just the mother hen in me.” She lets out a little huff, shaking her head as she rests her head on his shoulder.
“Sorry, it’s fine. I mean, I think the boys will love hanging out with Peter. The kid has so much energy, the boys will be able to let all their energy out and just let loose for once.” A soft satisfied little noise escapes her and she closes her eyes just for a moment. “Just knowing they’re okay and safe is enough for me. I wasn’t always a hover mother, not before... everything happened.” She swallows hard, shaking her head a bit. “But, I try to give them their freedom. Within reason.”
Sarah can’t help the little giggle that spills from her lips at the mention of being called Super Mama. “Mm, super mama has a nice ring to it. Though, I don’t exactly have any powers like the rest of you do.” She hums softly, nodding a bit. “Oh, definitely. I think the boys are absolutely loving having their uncle all to themselves. But, they’re probably also running around stealing his shield any chance they get.” She laughs again, remembering the time AJ had tried to borrow the shield for show and tell.
“Thank you for easing my troubled mind. I know I can be a bit much sometimes. But, you manage to calm the restless waters of my emotions.” She presses a kiss to his cheek, smiling softly. “What would I do without you?”
