We are all broken, that’s how the light gets in.
Ernest Hemingway (via wordsnquotes)
You’ll get to a point in your life when you realize it’s been months, years, decades… and you forgot to live. Life is not Instagram. Life is not Facebook., Life is not texting. Life is forgetting your phone at home, going on an adventure with people that mean the most to you, feeling, sensing, actually looking around at the world and it’s beauty instead of your screen, and coming home with a huge smile on your face and a story to tell your grandkids. I’d challenge anyone to stop picking up his or her phone, stop walking around the city looking down at it, and try to remember what you experienced when you were a child. The universe is so much more interesting than any Instagram or text will ever be.

I do not think I have it in me anymore to struggle and fight and suffer; I want to be quiet and happy.
Martha Gellhorn, Selected Letters (via wordsnquotes)
And when at last you find someone to whom you feel you can pour out your soul, you stop in shock at the words you utter - they are so rusty, so ugly, so meaningless and feeble from being kept in the small cramped dark inside you so long.
Sylvia Plath (via wordsnquotes)
What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pales in comparison to what lies inside of you.
Ralph Waldo Emerson (via wordsnquotes)

i want to get better but being a mess is my entire identity
And I want to be happy. Like, seventy to eighty percent of the time. I want to be actively, thoughtfully happy.
Rainbow Rowell, Landline (via thequotejournals)
I exist too much, I feel too much, think too much. Reality is crushing the life out of me.
David Jones, Love and Space Dust (via wordsnquotes)
The female doesn’t want a rich man or a handsome man or even a poet, she wants a man who understands her eyes if she gets sad, and points to his chest and say : ‘Here is your home country.’
Nizar Qabbani (via thelovejournals)
