Sara looked at the piece of paper and pen with a blank face, like student not sure what to write on his test. Her apartment was even more bare than usual. The sheets were stripped off her bed, the fridge was empty, and most notably Lemon wasn’t running about. She’d dropped the pup off at her brother’s place earlier today, much to the joy of Joey and Mary. As the kids pet and cooed with the old dog Michael went into full big brother mode. “Are you sure about this?”
“It’s not forever,” she told him, her hands buried in her jean pockets.
“Then how long is it?” Sara never replied.
Back in her apartment and back with the paper she decided to just write. What’s the worse that could happen? Someone reads it and then.... waits for her? Yeah. That would actually be nice. To come back and find someone waiting for her.
