More good news!!!

I just got off a really mind-blowingly awesome phone call with the Principal Rural Fire Officer of the North Canterbury Rural Fire District. He told me that as of now, I am officially the template for any learning disabled person who wants to join Fire and Emergency New Zealand in an operational or non-operational role. Plus, he also told me I have his express permission to take officer training and become a Crew Leader as well. So excited!!! *runs in circles screaming*

Good news!! I have been offered a position in Fire and Emergency New Zealand as part of their Diversity and Inclusion Team. I will be helping create strategies to employ more disabled people, like myself :)

New Year’s Eve 2017

Tomorrow night is going to be “fun” I can tell you... >_>

We are holding the annual Waikuku Beach Volunteer Rural Fire Force raffle at the camping ground and then I will be on beach patrol looking out for illegally set bonfires (we have been in a Prohibited Fire Season since 1st December).

It will be “fun” trying to talk sense into drunk people who have no idea what they are doing... fingers crossed they don’t get too aggro and pissed off...
