It’s not often that our WoL/D is canonically rude or sassy via the MSQ, but we do have the opportunity to exercise a sharp tongue at times.

How blunt is your warrior in your own mind? Could they be considered curt or sarcastic? How often does this happen? Have they ever “suffered repercussions” from it?

What is their “brand” of humor? Are they the type to jab? Make remarks that tinge a bit of sexual innuendo? Are more snarky, pointing out the obvious that no one else is saying?

Who are they about to exercise this charming wit with that won’t be easily offended? Is there someone who travels with them that shares their humor and they can play off of at a whim?

How does your warrior handle it when the same humor is used on them?

Will-o-wisps

Strange lights that have been dancing across lonely bogs have terrified travelers for centuries but the stories between science and local lore tell two very different stories.

Across some regions, mysterious glowing lights were reported near bogs and peat lands for hundreds of years. Folklore calls them will-o’-the-wisps, fairy lights or jack-o’-lanterns.

Many believe they are mischievous spirits luring wanderers away from safe paths. Some stories say that the lights led the travelers into deep places where they vanished.

However science says it’s not spirits but gasses released by decay igniting or crating faint glowing particles by chemical reactions. Others say bioluminescence, atmospheric conditions like heat lightning, or simple misidentification.

Would your WoL/D follow mysterious lights across a lonely bog in the darkness?

Demons

We all have those things that torment us beyond measure in our subconscious. What is this for your WoL/D? What bitter truth are they trying not to face?

What deep dark secret has them lying away some nights and jumping at shadows in the daylight? Is this something that has anything to do with them before their adventuring days? Is it something that’s happened since their journey began? Is it a family secret or something that pertains only to them?

How do they handle this secret truth? Does anyone within their friends know about it? If so, how did they find out about it? What might happen if they let this secret out?

What subtle hints do you as a writer put into their story to tell this secret to your readers without your warrior revealing it?

Everyone has a vice.

We know that imagery of things like smoking, brothel clientele, and gambling have been generally saved for villains or other “unsavory” characters; unless of course you are a regular patron of the Golden Saucer in which gambling is more than encouraged.

As a human soul, what’s your WoL/Ds heaviest addiction? Are they a collector of odd artifacts? A street gambler? A connoisseur of mulled craftsmanship? A dabbler in spirits? A seeker of activities of any kind that some might consider unsavory?

Are they ashamed of it? How did they discover this? To what extent do they go to in order to hide it? How do they keep themselves in check when it comes to their habit? Has this interest ever become a problem for them?

The new arena allows for your WoL/D to have a “battle anthem”. Is there a real world song or any song in Soken’s collection of compositions that would suffice?

Does your warrior “wrote their own”? Do they take something someone else has written about them and make it theirs? Do they claim something that was written about someone else?

What would they want this “theme song” to say about them? What might it reveal about them that others have yet to discover? Might it mention their vulnerabilities? Would it dodge that suggestion entirely reinforcing their “invincible” reputation?

If such a song already exists, what is it? How does this make your warrior stand out from the static Meteor Survivor / Meteor Final Fantasy?

Your WoL/D has been told that this offer to fight in this new arena allows for them to fight with a companion. With the knowledge that other fighters they face will be given the same allowance.

If these fighters choose to utilize their chocobo companion they will face other fighters who have done the same. If they choose to fight alongside a blast lizard or tribe ally then their opponent will also have that same advantage.

What kind of battle buddy does your warrior recruit to their team? What advantage does this give them? How does this fit into the “gimmick” that we asked about yesterday? Otherwise, do they continue solo despite the obvious advantages?

What might encourage them to take on a partner in the arena?

Forgoing the death note means that your WoL/D has the opportunity to carry out the assassination on their own.

However, this is not a political statement. This is something that your WoL/D is doing entirely on their own with full understanding of the possible consequences. They are under the impression that they are righting a wrong, removing an evil and/or making the choice that Ethyrian leaders refuse to make.

Unlike the villains in the past there’s no real reason to consider this target a threat, other than a non-echo gut feeling that your warrior has. Others have a different opinion and caution your warrior against this course of action.

Does your Warrior heed their warnings? Do they act on instinct? How do they justify their actions? Do they wait and give the threat the chance to show their hand all for the warrior to have their “told you so” moment?

How does your WoL/D best equip their company issued companion for exploration and battle?

How do they go about obtaining these resources? Do they grow them all or leave that chore to others?

Do they know about these foods or have they neglected to learn about them? Are these a benefit that they use often?

Do they even summon their company chocobo? Or are they complete strangers? How does your chocobo like to spend his free time? What quirks does he have that makes him unique to others? What kind of barding does he like?

What is your profession?

Which “real world” job do you see your WoL/D being able to do easily? Not because you yourself have experience in said profession but because they themselves seem to have the personality for it.

Would they be the type to run a board room? Own a small and humble business? Work for a franchise or a chain? How about entrepreneurship? Would it be food service, fashion retail, something to do with one of their other disciple talents?

Would the be a type of animal control? Military? Cartography? Oceanography? Fisher?

How best would they find ways to make their living if they could not (had never) become an adventurer?

Death Note

Your WoL/D is given the chance to take out one or more "Death Notes”.

The consequences are the same, someone who uses the notes shortens their own lifespan.

The petitioner must specify the cause of death or “death” (as an entity) will resort to a simple heart attack.

There is no way to reverse this decision.

Does your WoL/D, who is more than a capable assassin, take this opportunity?

What is their reason for allowing someone else to take the responsibility?

Do they have a specific target in mind?

How do they carry out the deed? (What’s the cause of death?)

Is there any guilt associated with this decision?

What other consequences might arise from this action? Would they feel any kind of guilt? What about those who are closely associated or related to the target? What impact does this have on them? Are they included in the hit list?

How easily would it be for your warrior to consider this opportunity?

Primals (part 3)

Your not-so-secret admirer has found out about your primal.

They’re suddenly concerned that you are in fact possessed by a mysterious creature that is forcing you to act on such a way.

The Scions have been contracted to uncover the truth, no matter the cost.

Keeping in mind that your warrior would act in their original instincts rather than any logical thinking. Like a cat goes into hunt mode; primal instincts, no logical reasoning. They don't respond to commands, care what they're breaking, who they are hurting, only the hunt exists. The directive of those who summoned them.

Your Warrior is beyond logical reasoning, deaf to the pleas of those closest to their heart.

Your secret admirer knows this and is powerless to stop you. The Scions are well aware of this but are hesitant to take action. Yet somehow you must be stopped.

And stop you they will.

Primals part 2

We’ve seen creatures mimic the forms of our friends, most commonly recently the ones we call gels or slimes.

But what if this mimic was a Demi-primal such as the ones that mimicked Louisoix Leveilleur and Nael Van Darnus. Being that were brought into being by a remnant of their memory and a strong emotional situation.

Let’s say for instance that the Exarch was rumored to be among the people of the first again; but for whatever reason he was nomadic and never seen in the Crystarium. That this entity turns out to be a Demi-primal not unlike its sire but lives of the energy of his faithful friends.

Would your WoL/D step in to correct this situation? Would they step back to assess the threat? Might they let one live despite the threat they have on the aether and potential threat they pose if they grow too strong?

What if this mimic happens to be a very convincing twin of themselves? One that threatens to overtake your warrior “the imposter”. Let us say that the mimic Demi-primal is so convincing that it has fooled everyone that normally surrounds your warrior.
