▶ @cadmxn-victxn meets the Noxian Boss.
Cerberus had been underground before, but tonight was the first of many in which she would face the tunnels alone. She left her spear behind, deeming it an ill fit for close quarters, and kept to the walls, following the path her liege’s retinue had shown her not too long ago.
A ways in, she began to hear them. The screams.
The voices only grew louder as she approached the hidden arena of which the retinue spoke. She listened for her own accent among the attendees, and sure enough, quite a few of them were nobles.
Her skin crawled.
The cambion found a man who gave her a rundown of the place and quickly took her leave -
Only to find herself disoriented.
She forced herself to move, pushing forward, pushing past that awful feeling clawing at her heart when she felt someone nearby.
“...Hello?”
Nothing happened on accident. Nothing. A man, one who had kept track of everything in this place, had seen the woman appear all but suddenly, and as soon as he had given her a run-down, he immediately reported her existence to the Boss.
Namely, Sett himself. Despite being a Wolf, he was notorious among his inner circle, his staff and fighters, for having the curiosity of a cat, following any curious scent or trail, in the hunt for something to amuse him. You’ll die for your curiosity, kitty, Eli would say, tilting his head to the side, and smiling coyly.
Curiosity killed the cat, Sett would reply, But satisfaction brought it back.
And thus he had found his way to the poor, confused girl.
“Don’t worry,” he said, immediately, “I don’t bite. Now, what’s an innocent lass like yourself doin’ down here? Lost?” He scanned over her. Something about her- it raised his hackles, and if he had any less self control, he’d probably be ready to fight. But, calming himself, he just examined her briefly, before making eye contact, a sweet, small smile. “If you don’t know this place,” he warned, voice soft and light on the air, “It may be better to go. I could show ya the way out, if you’re unsure.”
He knew better, he knew what he was toying with... to a degree, at least. But that’s what made it so fun, so interesting. Most people just cowered like terrified dogs around him, even if he himself was the dog, but when they didn’t... it meant they usually had a trick up their sleeve.
And tricks, no matter how cruel or painful, were always interesting.
