My most recent venture into dating was so jarring. I was really looking forward to getting to know this person but they used their like of me and potential for our connection as an excuse to fast track the relationship and push past my boundaries. Very low stakes boundaries but the resistance I received was alarming and made me question what about for larger things, would I be meet with such hostility again. I always feel like men see my boundaries as lack of interest but honestly it’s a way for us to be close. Men who don’t prioritize safety, no matter how unreasonable you feel a woman’s safety requests are, are unsafe period.
