TOMORROW!
i spoke with sheila heti about women in clothes over at vice magazine
I donât remember how I stumbled upon this book. I believe I was on Twitter and The Cut mentioned it and I instantly became fascinated. I checked out the website and took a glance at the survey. Here are some questions from it:
WHEN DO YOU FEEL AT YOUR MOST ATTRACTIVE?
DO YOU NOTICE WOMEN ON THE STREET? IF SO, WHAT SORT OF WOMEN DO YOU TEND TO NOTICE OR ADMIRE?
WAS THERE A MOMENT IN YOUR LIFE WHEN SOMETHING âCLICKEDâ FOR YOU ABOUT FASHION OR DRESSING OR MAKE-UP OR HAIR? WHAT? WHY DID IT HAPPEN THEN, DO YOU THINK?
IS THERE ANY FASHION TREND YOUâVE REFUSED TO PARTICIPATE IN AND WHY?Â
CAN YOU SAY A BIT ABOUT HOW YOUR MOTHERâS BODY AND STYLE HAS BEEN PASSED DOWN TO YOU, OR NOT?
WAS THERE A POINT IN YOUR LIFE WHEN YOUR STYLE CHANGED DRAMATICALLY? WHAT HAPPENED?
WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO ACHIEVE WHEN YOU DRESS?
 DO YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF PHOTOGENIC?
So on and so forth. I remember when I decided to do something about my wardrobe â I was walking around New York City and noticed women wearing trenchcoats. That was when I told myself I would achieve that look and dress more timeless and classic. It wasnât until June when I took it seriously and started cleaning out my closet and rebuilding my wardrobe.
I just started this book and will quote it here and there. Itâs really great so far!
"Emily - when you want that dress with the buttons back just say." - Harpreet Purewal on borrowed clothes. See her survey on our site: http://www.womeninclothes.com/view/by-author/entry/265/
"If I could, I would fill bathtubs with glitter and just roll in them." - Marlena Kaesler http://www.womeninclothes.com/view/by-author/entry/204/
Reading Women in Clothes and have questions? Not reading Women in Clothes and want to know what the deal is with it? Or are sartorial dilemmas just getting you down? Whatever the reason, join us on twitter tomorrow at 2pm EST to chat it out with Sheila, Heidi & Leanne - just tag your tweet #womeninclothes
Thank you, all you New Yorkers in clothes, for coming to our launch last night. We had so much fun swapping clothes with you!
Next to quitting this sounds like a pretty good idea.
