What is a pre workout and which one do you use?
A preworkout is formulated to help you get energy and maintain endurance through your workout. There are tons of variety some target some things more than others. It is not a protein shake-- which is a common misconception.
Waist trainers, yay or nay?
Yay, if you're going to wear it right. Do your research and buy the right size first and foremost. Don't rush to tighter clamps. All that will do is make it tight and uncomfortable. Do not wear it for 8 hours that is really unnecessary. I only wear mine at the gym while I workout and I don't wear it while I do abs. Your waist is not going to just disappear drink water (so you can sweat) and exercise!!
What was the most effective was of losing weight?
I lost 30 pounds through the Insanity workout video. Insanity uses HIIT (high intensity interval training) workouts-- which is intense kick ass workouts with little to no breaks in between. I did it in the middle of summer in my in-laws garage. I always tell people I did this to kick start my weight loss because people often think they have to get in a gym or that workout videos don't work.
What are some results from yoga?
Helped the definition in my core. I warm up and cool down with yoga. Overall I have improved on my flexibility with my splits, back bends, balance, and control. When I'm sore this helps me heal! I recommend stretching because it prevents injury especially when you plan on going hard.
Have you ever hit a plateau with your fitness journey?
Yes, I'm at a plateau right now I feel like I’ve been trying to lose weight this month and I don't think I'm doing a good job. I know its my diet though. I’ve been so reckless with my eating habits.
The million dollar question, and the answer is a balance between the two. My upper body and core I use little to no weight at all. And when I work out my butt and legs I used 50-150 pounds.
I personally I have someone I go to the gym with, my boyfriend. We don’t work out together all the time but we go everyday so we keep each other motivated. I workout alone because I talk too much if I’m with someone else. I know it sounds funny but headphones + the right playlist is how I keep focused.
Do you participate in any workout classes?
Only yoga and cycling (5 minutes into the class I was done), but I do recommend trying a class especially if you don’t understand how to work out. Like ab burner classes or what ever sounds like it’ll help your work out goals. Attending a class or two will really help to give you examples of workouts you can do on your own.
Do you keep a workout schedule (e.i.: T-Legday W-Arms F-Rest)?
No. I walk into the gym take my workout and I decide what I want to work on. I switch it up on myself all the time it works for me.
