"how i think? oh, i do not know about that." alysanne said with a wrinkle of her nose and some blonde hair falling into her face. she didn't know if anyone would should think like her, especially with what she had been through and seen. however, she wouldn't tell roselie that, because getting into past ventures? that was not something alysanne exactly wanted to get into either. "why do you think that?"

emilie couldn't stop the small smile as she saw the excitement on alysanne's face. seeing someone who loved books that much, made her feel warm and giddy inside. "amazing." she nodded dreamily. fingers moving to run over the spine of one of the near by books. amazing was an understatement. it was surreal. she was lost in a world that wasn't hers. one she became a part of as soon as she started the first line. her next question, had her tilting her head. the smile slipping just slightly. it was a feeling she knew all too well. a feeling she wouldn't wish on anyone else. "they make me feel like I finally have a purpose. like i'm somewhere with adventure. some place that I fit in. i don't have to worry about being the odd one anymore." emilie was rambling, something she didn't do often, but she hated it when she did.

"that makes perfect sense." aly said, her blue hues on the book store owner known as emilie. for a moment, aly felt like she was geting along with someone and someone understood her, it didn't happen often, but she was feeling like maybe she belonged somewhere, and that was within the books around her. she smiled, her lips pursing into a wide grin. for once, alysanne didn't have to question if anyone understood her, because it was obvious this woman did; books were wonderful, and they influenced everyone differently.

"i am good with plants, i like to work with them because it makes me calm down and bring me peace. i know it sounds weird, but it makes sense to me." she said, her hues on him as she shrugged her shoulders. sometimes, alysanne thought she was a little strange, and maybe she was, but a lot of things could calm her down and snap her straight out of her thoughts and worries. plants being one of them. she watched the pumpkin morph into something that she was proud of and it made her feel better about herself, almost making her feel successful.

"i've never carved anything before, much less a pumpkin." she said happily, her blue hues on him as she looked at the male who had invited her to carve next to him. she didn't know if she wanted to, but she was somewhat intrigued, and she honestly couldn't hide that. who carved pumpkins? obviously people here! she looked at the pumpkin and shrugged. "sure, i'll give it a shot!" she said with a wide grin.

" then you're in luck ! i'm a great teacher. " that much was true but he wasn't exactly an expert in pumpkin carving. still he could show her the basics. " first you gotta decide if you want it hollow or not, some people use the guts for decoration. " he pointed a finger towards a pumpkin that'd already been completed with little bits of the pumpkin goo hanging out of it's open mouth. " i haven't gotten there yet but there's no wrong way to do it. then it's really just artistic freedom, follow your heart. i was trying to make a piano with wings but it's not exactly working out the way i intended. "

"i don't think anything works out the way we intended, does it?" she laughed, her words coming out slowly and surely as she began to carve the pumpkin. alysanne was the kind of person who loved having fun--trying new things, and this was no different. why be afraid to try new things, when you could have fun and do something along the way? she looked at him and pursed her lips. "i'm not one for playing with guts though, that's where i quit." she grinned, her lips pursing as she looked at him and shrugged her shoulders.

amir loved the harvest festival. it was his favorite time of year, the kind of weekend he'd been chatting on about for months. he’d made sure to get here early, determined to try every booth and game before settling in for the main event: the pumpkin carving contest. he entered every year, and every year he lost spectacularly, but this year … this year was going to be different. or so he promised himself an hour ago. now he sat at one of the long tables, pumpkin guts smeared across his cheek like war paint, sleeves rolled to his elbows, and his so called masterpiece looking more like an accident than art. still, his grin shone bright as ever, curling wide and boyish across his face. " i swear i had a plan , " he said to no one in particular, holding up the carving knife like it might defend his honor. his fingers held the ring carefully as he lined up his shot once more, taking aim for what must have been the dozenth time. and as he let the little plastic ring rip, he could feel the excitement build within him as it appeared to fly through the air with the exact precision he desired. and then, at the very last moment, the ring bounced off the top of the glass bottle and landed on the ground with the others.

freddie sighed heavily and shoved his hands deep into his pockets, deciding then and there it simply wasn't worth yet another go. "careful now, i have a sneaking suspicion this game might be rigged," he teased playfully at the person beside him.

"Rigged? of course not!" she sounded appalled, and maybe she was, but alysanne had never heard something so silly in her life! she laughed, a chuckle coming from deep in her throat as she looked at him. "do you think you could win something?" the blonde asked, her blue hues on him as she pursed her lips. she had been excited to play, but she had been having a hard time winning, and she knew that she was going to continue to lose.

roselie looked at the other surprised, not by her admission that'd she'd never ridden before – but by her question. " oh, goodness, no! " the blonde exclaimed with a short laugh and a shake of her head. " you do not want me teaching anyone how to ride, that is certain. " roselie thought she could, at least, once upon a time when she rode often. it had been so long though, she wasn't sure that she herself remembered how.

" i am good with horses though, i could certainly show you how to approach one! "

"approaching one is the first step!" alysanne said with her whimsical personality, a grin on her face as she looked at the other woman. "i think if you can teach someone how to approach someone, or at least show them? then maybe riding won't be as hard, you know?" the blonde said, her blue hues looking over at roselie as she grinned from ear to ear. she knew her logic didn't make much sense, but it made sense to herself, and that was all that mattered to alysanne really.

His eyes scanned the room quickly, trying to place the source of the sound. “Yes?” he responded, his voice quiet, almost mechanical, as he waited for whoever it was to identify themselves.

"You're Henrik, right?" Alysanne said, the name coming off her lips with vigor but also curiosity. The blonde was always curious but moreso she was someone who never met a stranger. This was often something that got her into trouble even though she didn't want to admit to it. Her striking blue hues looked at him and she raised her eyebrows, he had responded to her, but now it seemed that he was looking into the abyss or somewhere else.

Sometimes Alysanne found herself lost in thought too. It was a nasty habit that she couldn't drop, but she knew that she would have to snap into reality one day, her insanity often becoming too much at times. She looked at him and smiled gingerly. "I'm Alysanne." She said, her eyes on him with a gentleness that she normally did NOT have with other people. She knew this look, he was thinking too hard.

the distant chime ringing in her ears. the bell above the bookstores door going off to alert the her of a new customer. only this time it didn't register. her face shoved in the open book, taking in the stories of faraway places, the unobtainable lands. dreams too big for somewhere so small, too insane for a woman of her status. in this book and every other, she could pretend.

a book she was supposed to be putting back, instead she was lost in it. reading when she should have been working.

"no, i'm just looking! i do love books." alysanne said softly, blue hues looking at the femme before her. she didn't recognize her, but that was nothing new, she didn't know a lot of people in this place, and she simply found herself wanting to explore and look around which led her to the book store. she walked slowly through the shelves, her hues looking from left to right, it was obvious alysanne was immersed. "what's your favorite genre?"

alysanne looked out at the horses, her blue eyes amazed. mostly, because she had never seen something so beautiful but also so intimidating. she was the kind of person who loved animals and would choose to be around them moreso than people, but she had never ridden a horse and found herself mentally slapping herself for it. "i haven't rode a horse before no. do you teach others?"
