“Go figure Gotham is where I have to go to not be known. But no, I don’t have the honour of being an amazon. They did train me though, which is amazing. My father is Zeus, so I just sort of fit in. All this about me...what was your name?”

   “ not exactly !!  i mean, i looked up to superman a lot when i was a kid.  but the closest thing i had to an idol was batman.  and i’ve already been batman.  it sucks. ”

“That’s actually really unfortunate. I guess sometimes it’s true when they say never meet your heroes. But there’s just something so powerful about having someone to look up to. Well, I’m sure there’s lots of people who look up to you anyways.”

“Are you kidding me?” Cassie laughed at the preposterous idea. “Nothing will ever happen to Wonder Woman, let’s me real. And if she wasn’t using the title anymore and Donna wanted it, I would let her have it. I would let her beat me up for it even. I mean, it would be an honour to be punched by Donna Troy.”

☼. || ❝ no, i just got here. ❞ kara replied. she didn’t look at cassie for a few seconds, eyes focused on the utter disaster that laid before her. her hands began to rub together with anxiety building up in her chest. this was mortifying. ❝ it’s not worth the outcome. i don’t like that is even exists, if we’re being honest. ❞ the kryptonian knelt down, gingerly making her cape into a makeshift pouch and collecting the pills on the ground. though in a perfect world, she wouldn’t even have to go near these things.     

Cassie’s heart broke a little. When all this started, her eager young adult self thought this was her team’s chance to help out more, but seeing this now made it clear she was being naive. She bent down to help pick up the pills. “I hate this. I remember when I still had to wish I could have powers, but I can’t believe people would stoop so low for this,” she sighed. “We’ll put an end to this soon, we have to. With so many teams working together for this one thing, it can’t take us that long, right?” Even she could hear the doubt in her own voice.

Oswald chuckled listening to the other “ Wonder Women,  is quite a women, strong, confident, and beautiful the whole package so to say. I take it your a fan?”

“Her biggest fan, actually. You don’t go around calling yourself Wonder Girl if you don’t fully idolize the woman you’re named after. You know, you missed incredibly intelligent and kind in that description there, she’s all of the above.”

“what, nah man, green lantern is like…totally tactical. he gotta protect outer space, like, how is he gonna do that if he’s not 100% on his shit, seems impossible.” gavin did not know the green lantern, and would later come to find that he had made some incredibly….generous assumptions. 

“And you think Wonder Woman isn’t just as capable? She isn’t limited by what she can make with a green light, and she has years more experience than Green Lantern.” Cassie wasn’t backing down, any doubts on her idol had to be squashed according to her.

“Exactly! Oh Hera, she’s just so cool. Do you have an idol like that? I guess I just always assume everyone has to like Wonder Woman most.”

    “ nah, i’m not that petty.  we can have two superboys. ”  kon’s very comfy in himself, thanks.  he grins at cassie, blowing her a kiss.  “ sorry, i’ll try to up my other wonder girl respect for your sake. ”

Cassie still couldn’t help smiling when he did things like that. “Thank you, much appreciated. Besides, she’s Troia now, we can see who won that battle,” she joked. Then she felt uneasy, her smile turned to a frown, and her brows furrowed together. “Please don’t tell her I said that.”

What do you think of Superman?

“Oh Hera, my first love has half his genetics so I guess I’m pretty fond of the guy. That and I just really love all the Supers, it would be pretty cool to get to know him more.”

What is your favorite thing to do with your team mates?

“As much as I love kicking butt with them, my favourite moments are when we get a night off and order a pizza, then just play games all night. Video games, board games, it always ends up being fun no matter what.”

What does being a hero mean to you? What do you consider your hardest moment in your career as Wonder girl?

“Being a hero means using your gifts to help those around you. It means putting your life on the line to save those of innocent people, because if I die even saving one person, it’ll be worth it. But that ties in to my hardest moment too. It wasn’t really a moment, more like three moments coming together to make everything horrible. Kon’s death, then Bart’s, then Tim taking some time away. Losing them was like losing pieces of myself, they have always been my family and I can hardly remember the time before they were around. I try not to need people, but the truth is I need them.”

☼. || ❝ … this is … this is terrifying. ❞ kara remarks as she stares into what looks like an alley that has been utterly DEMOLISHED - open dumpsters, smoking objects, trash and broken objects making a red carpet of debris. but no people, the only traces being what looks like blood smeared on the walls, and small pills that lay on the concrete like they were spilled out of a bag. ❝ is … is that what THAT THING does to people ?? because it looks like whoever our guy was went on a rampage and … some people didn’t make it out too great. ❞ almost makes her sick. and this is kara - she’s seen a whole lot.

Cassie stared at the scene before her, this was nothing like that one on one transaction she busted. This was right out of the list of worst scenarios. She looked at the red-smeared walls, the mess around them, and then back to Kara. “I’ve...never seen this up close. Why does anyone think this is worth the outcome?” It made her sad more than anything. “Did you see who did this?”

“—do you know…what a fucking honor it would be…to have my ass kicked by wonder woman? i agree with that 100%. or wait, like, 99%. like, what about superman. or like, green lantern…or steele. he has an arrow dude.” he laughed a bit. “that last one was a joke but don’t tell him.”

“No, you were right the first time,” Cassie assured him, nodding sternly. “She could totally take Superman and Green Lantern. And arrows wouldn’t stand a chance against her. She was raised a warrior, she knows so much more than just physical strength.”

“ i don’t know what you’re talking about, cassie.  as far as i’ve heard, you’re the original, one & only wonder girl. ”  yes, she & bart & tim get the same treatment. as far as he’s concerned, they’re the originals.  and no, he can’t imagine that krypto would ever so much as nip at cassie’s heels, much less actually bite her.  

 “ i’m just too stubborn to pick a new codename. ”

“Listen, I love that you’re so loyal to me on that one but don’t go disrespecting my girl Donna around me,” she warned. Although she was really kidding, she was sure everyone knew about Kon’s tendency to see his friends as the one and only versions of their aliases. Cassie stood up from petting Krypto. 

“Well, physically you’re older. Just make him pick a new codename. Superkid or something. I’m not ready to call anyone else Superboy anyways.”

    “ you know what ??  that’s tea. ”  he’s affecting the language of young people to infiltrate their ranks and stay relevant.  shh.

“Did you just say it’s tea?” Cassie couldn’t help laughing, sometimes she felt like she had too much of her own lingo to keep up with the people around her. “Either way, it really is. I never lie about Wonder Woman.”

“I don’t care what anyone says,” Cassie stated with complete conviction. “Wonder Woman could kick any man’s butt, any day. Those who say otherwise are just being naive.”
