It was his own fault because he fails so hard at talking to girls, or at least he did. There were girls who were interested, but he never realized it. Neil was always the kinda guy who got caught up on “Miss Unobtainable” and didn’t see who was right in front of him.

Pippy sat on the edge of the fountain as she waited for her new friend. She hadn’t expected anything really coming out of joining Tumblr. Perhaps running into old friends, discovering new ones, not that the former actually happened. The latter hardly happened either, she wasn’t on enough to really form a bond with anyone. Then there was the whole thing in Tulsa. Nevertheless, Hayley seemed like a nice enough girl. It’d be nice to talk about photography outside of school. And if she snagged a friend out of this, that’d just top it off.

Hayley aimed her camera lens towards the fountain, and that was when she saw her. Her smile brightened, and she put her camera away, approaching with a wave. "Hi! Oh, wow, you're even prettier in person," she said in greeting. It felt good to be out and about and to be meeting with someone. She didn't think she'd been in Seattle long enough to miss it, but she did. Hopefully making a friend would help soften that blow.

"Sorry, I didn't realize you were waiting here. I hope you haven't been here long freezing your butt off."

Uncharted || Pippa and Hayley

New York was a lot like Seattle in so many ways, but it could still get a bit overwhelming. She'd been fortunate to have a few people from her high school with her at college in Washington, but so far all she had in NYC was her brother. Things with Neil were tentative at best, so she wasn't actively seeking out time to hang out with him though-- and even if they weren't, she sure didn't want to spend all of her time with just him. She was fortunate to meet Pippa on tumblr, and while a couple of their plans had fallen through before (Hayley had ended up needing to go on a job interview at a clothing store), she was finally free to meet up with her to talk photography and coffee and whatever else. Hayley was excited about it because she didn't really have a lady friend to talk to here, and she hoped Pippa would fit the bill.

Central Park was surprisingly occupied despite the snow still on the ground. Hayley had gotten their early, wrapped up in her coat in scarf, so she took a few minutes to take some photos, snapping pics of the people going by, the leafless trees, the gray sky.
