I hardly had any winters back home so you at least know what it’s like. Camp got pretty cold but I legitimately can not stand it being cold everyday. Where could I even get one of those? I doubt they’d have them around here but if they did then I would definitely buy all of the heated coats, really.

What, were you from the hot side of the country? Camp was beautiful the entire time. It got chilly at night, that was it. Maybe you need a second layer of skin. Online. I don’t know, they might have them somewhere here. You just have to look. Don’t complain about anything if you’re not gonna try and fix it.

Yeah. Florida, actually. No snow whatsoever. Just sun and beach. It was sort of cold back home but not as cold as this. Both camp and Florida had good weather. Right, well I'm sort of in the process of fixing my problem, I'll just have to take a trip around town to find some good jackets.

I am no where close to getting use to it– it’s so cold!! And, oh– you bet I will put five hundred layers because if I don’t, then my itty bitty Floridian body is going to turn into an ice statue.

I know it is, but I swear it’s so beautiful the colder it gets. I fucking loved the winters back home. I didn’t even ski or anything, I just loved seeing it. You should invest in one of those heated coats. Just make sure you don’t catch yourself on fire.

Naomi felt like the luckiest girl in the world when she took a trip around the world with Josh for two-and-a-half years. He spoiled her nonstop, and, no matter how many times she refused, he only insisted more, giving the weakest of reasons like “just because” or “I never get you anything, just this once.” But she would eventually give in to his pleads each time– and noted mentally that she would definitely have to pay him back somehow.

Throughout the two-and-a-half years of traveling, Naomi found that she would enjoy her time with him, and that she started to see him slightly as more than a friend– more than a best friend. The girl remembered the way he treated her in her situation back at Camp Haven–he had been so gentle with her–and even now still so, and she couldn’t imagine not spending everyday with him like she had done for the past couple of years And maybe this more than a best friend thing had gone a little farther than that, and the two of them often wound up in the same bed, once even more than cuddling.

She found herself dwelling on what they exactly were when it came to their relationship, yet she was nervous, almost afraid, to bring it up for fear of ruining the connection they had now. Then again, Naomi liked whatever they had and–whatever it was–was enough for her– for now.

The siren woke up early this morning– as usual, and began her morning routine of waking herself up with a prolonged shower until she was satisfied and, once done, shrugged on lazy day clothes. It was then that she stepped out into the kitchen and began consuming a bagel and some apple juice while skimming through texts from the day before, but soon halted her scrolling when she heard footsteps and felt a kiss to her head, a gesture that she couldn’t help but to smile at every time. Peering up at the vampire, she nodded her head sleepily, despite that a shower should normally wake her up.

“Good morning.. Mm– great,” mumbled Naomi happily. “As always,” she soon added with a cheeky glance in his direction. “What about you?” It was a lame way to add on to the conversation but it would do.

He often found himself thinking back to the time at camp, where he had thought her dead and gone, and how distraught he had been. Josh recalled not eating for a good four days, and even when she was safely in his arms once again he didn’t go out for food until he was absolutely sure that she was going to be okay. Naomi had always been his first priority, and he didn’t think that was ever going to change. She meant a lot to him, and she always would.

And that’s why there was a sore feeling in the pit of his stomach. Sleeping with Naomi hadn’t been one of his best decisions, but he didn’t exactly regret it. The only thing he regretted was not figuring out what was going on in his head before he jumped into bed with her at the first sign of extreme passion. He wasn’t going to lie– there was something about Naomi that naturally drew the vampire to her, and he was more than comfortable around her and would do absolutely anything for her…but he was scared more than anything. He would lose Naomi, whether they stayed together or not. Immortality wasn’t the best thing to happen to Josh in certain situations.

Josh couldn’t help the small chuckle that escaped his lips at the sight of a sleepy Naomi, “Love, if you’re tired, maybe you should go back to bed.” He reached the fridge, pulling out one of the water bottles that had been emptied of water and refilled with O positive blood. He unscrewed the cap and dumped the contents in a cup, blasting the bodily fluid in the microwave until it was warm enough for his liking. Now that he had access to warm blood, he didn’t want to go back to drinking cold blood or eating human food unless he had to. Josh was healthier than he had been in years.

With his cup of blood in hand, he slid into the chair adjacent to Naomi, grinning cheekily right back at her. “I would hope so. I’m the best cuddly buddy and I’d probably be offended if you said you didn’t sleep well next to me.” He took a sip of the blood. “Good, actually. I slept like death,” he joked.

Naomi couldn't be more happy with someone like Josh at her side, simply knowing he could take care of her and help her when she was in need like he had at the camp. It had surprised her then how far he would go for her, how much he cared about her. But now, the feelings were mutual and she, in return, would do just about anything for him, though he may have a slight advantage by being immortal-- and that was something she thought about before. Would she go far enough for him to give him her life, and have it all taken away just like that to spend something like an eternity with him? It was a thought that reached her mind before, but she wasn't too worried about it-- she didn't need to be.

Refusing his suggestion, Naomi shook her head, and used a hand to brush stray, damp hairs from her face as her eyes trailed along with Josh while he made his way to the fridge. "It's too late to go back to bed," she stated casually, slumping back in her seat and taking another sip of the sweet juice.

She had always known that vampires drank blood, of course. Blood from blood bags and others times fresh from animals and even though Naomi had been around Josh for a good amount of time that she should have gotten used to it-- she just wasn't. She was a siren and despite that he own species had fangs, and that they "ate" their victims, Naomi just hadn't been used to it in so long so the sight of blood made her feel uneasy. Maybe it was the fact that she wasn't used to it still or maybe it was because of what had happened back at camp-- especially knowing that she had talked to the people who had done such things to her..

Thoughts aside, she wore a bright grin, and turned in her seat to face Josh. "Well-- I can't argue with that, now can I?" Naomi began, and cocked a brow at him. "I'm actually a bit surprised how well I sleep with you; you're quite warm for a cold-blooded vampire," she teased coolly, but smiled bashfully nonetheless. "Of course you have to be all punny and say you slept like death-- why not like a log, or a baby?" She suggested, and raised her eyebrows at the male.

I guess that’s good reasoning. You better get used to it quick, though, because it’s only going to get colder. I suggest five hundred layers wherever you go, but that’s my preference.

Oh don’t worry I won’t go too crazy. I’m more excited about just buying the alcohol than actually drinking it. Besides I live in a house with a three year old and I don’t feel like mentally scarring her yet.

Oh, yeah. That will be something you might have to watch yourself on. But, it must be your 21st birthday then? –I’m assuming so, so happy birthday. Live it, love it, enjoy the alcohol. I’m not really one to consume a whole bunch of alcohol. I had a little bit of it on my 21st and then sips on special occasions, but that’s about it.

No, you’re wrong. The snow is terrible. I have no idea why I would ever move here after being in Florida my whole life. This is basically death in weather form.
