Let It Out // Teddy & Felix
It was still unbelievable that they were holding handsÂ
But it was also very nice. An act so simple and sometimes unnoticed by others. But Teddy always saw the little things; the small acts that occurred between two people who shared the same feelings towards each other.Â
The feeling of Felix’s hand linked with his own was almost overwhelming to him but he loved it. Everything was okay between them. For once Teddy’s life seemed to be going towards a positive route. And it was all thanks to a blonde boy with comforting blue eyes.Â
He felt Felix glance at him and he immediately felt his cheeks heat up. Although he was already complimented tonight, he still couldn’t help but question his appearance.Â
"Well thank you.. that’s so kind of you," he smiled shyly before looking out and up at the sky as well. It was a beautiful sight, something you look forward to seeing with someone special. "Yeah," he breathed out, glancing down at him and noticing his shivering. "Oh are you cold? I-I can go grab a coat if you’d like."
Everything that was happening was so romantic and Felix couldn't help but feel overwhelmed. The stars, walking along the deck on a cruise ship, holding hands, everything was going perfect so far.
Except Felix was shivering and he cursed himself for being such a tiny person who can't put on weight to keep warm. God fucking dammit, Felix. Why can't you handle the goddamn cold? Oh right, it's because you live in Cali-fucking-fornia and the cold doesn't exist there. He rolled his eyes at himself and his thoughts.
"No, I'm fine." He clenched his teeth together and took deep breaths, trying not to shiver. He moved closer to Teddy, hoping his body heat would warm him up. Suddenly a gust of wind decided to flow through the air and hit them, making Felix freeze his steps and wrap an arm across his chest.
"Fuck," he muttered, still trying not to shiver. He looked down at the ground and let out a sigh. "I think that coat would be great right now."
Let It Out // Teddy & Felix
Teddy caught a glimpse of Felix’s hand as it retracted away from his own and although there was most likely a simple, positive, reason, he couldn’t help but tell himself that it was because the boy changed his mind in holding his hand. His shoulders slumped a tad in hidden disappointment and hands stayed at his sides sadly. That was how Teddy’s little mind worked. Negatively.
But that didn’t mean he wasn’t trying uplift his way of thinking. Especially for his one and only crush. He made a promise to get better and Felix was at the top of his list for the reasons why. So that’s why he made a move he never thought he’d have the guts to do. He reached over and took Felix’s hand in his.
It was such a simple act. Yet so much courage and bravery took place for it to happen. His cheeks were flushed pink and his eyes were staring out in front of them, too nervous to actually look at the blonde. His hand was shaky but hopefully it wasn’t too noticeable as his fingers shyly intertwined with ones that seemed to just fit perfectly between his own.Â
He didn’t want to make things any more awkward so he continued on with the conversation, his voice slightly timid after making such a bold move. “I um, saw it in a brochure or something and, well, I thought it’d be interesting to see. I hope you’re okay with that.”
Ever since he returned there seemed to be this strange tension between them. It was mostly during situations like these. Unlike when they’re completely alone, legs tangled, Teddy’s cheek pressed against Felix’s chest as they cuddled and talked about nothing and everything. Those moments were special, intimate. Yet whenever the two were out, it was as if they had just met or just recently admitted their feelings to one another. Teddy didn’t understand that. And he couldn’t really compare it to other scenarios in his past since he’s never been in a relationship like this before.
And even with all the confusion, that should lead Teddy into negative thoughts to back out of this, it only pulled him closer.
"Pay? Oh I- I brought money for the both of us.. you don’t have to pay," he tried to convince him. Though it was nice feeling that Felix had prepared to buy whatever tonight for them. It was strange yet genial and a small selfish part of him wanted to accept Felix’s offer in paying.
Anything can be meant to be a sign. From a certain song that starts playing to meeting a new person, they're all signs.
In this case, Teddy holding Felix's hand was a sign. A sign that they were okay, that they didn't need this awkward tension. They didn't need to act like they were close as strangers whenever they were out together and when they were behind closed doors they were almost inseparable.Â
Felix felt the warmth from Teddy's hand shoot up his arm and overwhelm his whole body, almost making him feel weak. A smile was present on his face and the mood was lifted, at least, to Felix it was. He felt Teddy intertwine their fingers together and that's when he was completely certain, one hundred percent positive, that the feeling was still and definitely mutual.
"Yeah, I'm okay with that," he answered, turning his head to look at him. Teddy was still beautiful as ever. If looks could kill, Felix would be dead by now.Â
"No, I'm paying," he reassured. "After all, I did ask you out first." He playfully nudged his shoulder and let out a chuckle, grinning. They were now outside, walking on the deck. It was chilly, which made Felix shiver a little, but he tried his best to not show it as he walked alongside Teddy. The night sky was filled with stars and the moon was shining its reflection on the surface of the ocean water. "What a nice night," he commented, watching himself let out a cold breath.
Let It Out // Teddy & Felix
A shy smile was present on his face when Felix complimented him. He couldn’t help but feel like he succeed in choosing the right outfit.Â
"Yeah I- I thought it might be good to change it a bit. Get the hair out of my eyes and stuff," he shrugged, digging the toe of his boot into the soft carpet underneath them. He remembered how his grandma would always push his hair back, telling him he should always want to show those adorable green eyes. He never listened though- always kept his fringe, hiding his face almost.
But now he was glad that he listened to her. Because he received such a positive reaction from the person he likes.Â
"Should we… go?" he asked, a little unsure. He patted his pockets to make sure his wallet and phone were both tucked away in each. He made sure to put a decent amount of money in. Enough for the show, and possible any food or drink Felix would want during and after.
"Yeah, come on. Let's go." Felix reached out to take Teddy's hand, but he quickly pulled back, unsure if he even wanted to hold his hand. He smiled a little and looked down, feeling his cheeks turn red as he walked out of his room and into the hallway.
"I didn't know you were into like, those shows and stuff," he said, trying to lift the mood and not make things awkward between the both of them. Their relationship with one another was always awkward, although there were times when Felix felt like he was at home whenever he was with Teddy, it was mostly just them standing beside each other not knowing what to say. Not that Felix didn't mind, he just wished the tension between them would lift.
"And if you want any food, just tell me. I'm paying for tonight," he added. He didn't want Teddy to pay for anything, since, after all, this was a date. And to Felix, the one taking the other out is the one who was supposed to pay for everything. And since it was Teddy, Felix didn't mind at all.
Let It Out // Teddy & Felix
He was already dressed and ready to leave about three hours before Felix was supposed to show up. He couldn’t help it. The nerves and excitement got the best of him and as soon as they planned the evening, Teddy was in the shower, scrubbing himself clean, and then picking out what to wear.
It took an hour to pick an outfit.
It was a difficult task- mainly because he wanted to impress Felix as best as he could. He left the ship on a bad note so this date meant everything to him for different reasons. All of which were equally important. Eventually he decided to go simple but nice. A black long sleeved button up with black jeans, and black boots. All black.
Was that too sad?
He had all those three hours to think about that but of course the thought occurred to him about five minutes before he heard a soft knock on the door. Felix had arrived. It was too late to change. So instead, he quickly fixed his hair- his usual fringe now styled up into a quiff. It was a new look but he hoped Felix would like the small hair change.
Once he felt he was ready, he let out a nervous breath and walked to the door, opening it and-
Damn he looked good.
Teddy’s eyes wandered down and back up Felix’s body, the dark red color of his shirt such a contrast to his pale, milky skin. He swallowed thickly and cleared his throat, stuffing his hands in his pockets (though was nearly impossible considering the tightness of his jeans).Â
"Hi Felix.." he finally spoke, voice quiet with shyness. "Y-You look.. you look really good," he complimented, smiling softly, cheeks tinted with a light shade of pink.
Once the door opened Felix felt a wave of relief crash onto him but as his eyes laid upon Teddy's appearance, he felt like he was being dragged down to hell.
"Hey, Teddy." The grin on his face was huge and the blush on his cheeks was evident from probably fifty miles away because damn, Teddy looked ridiculously good right now. "Thanks...you do too. You changed your hair a bit?" He gestured an upward motion with his hand on his hair.Â
The black attire made him look slim and just... beautiful. Put a halo over his head and give him a pair of wings and he looked like a true angel.
Now Felix was feeling even extra nervous and he hoped his sweat wouldn't be visible through the shirt he was wearing. He lifted his arms up a bit and placed them back down, silently thanking God or whoever was above that his underarms weren't sweating profusely and showing through his top.Â
Let It Out // Teddy & Felix
"You give me life, like lots of oxygen."
He wanted this night to be perfect.
Perfect as in no flaws. Everything had to run smoothly and in precise timing. Everything had to be good for Teddy. No making him uncomfortable, nervous, scared, hesitant--Felix just wanted everything to go well.
But now he was a nervous wreck, which definitely wasn't helping at all.
He was in his deep red button-up and dark jeans as he paced back and forth in his room, his fingers running through his combed up blonde hair and tugging at the ends.Â
"Fucking hell, Felix," he muttered to himself. "Get your act together. It's just Teddy."
That was the problem. He wasn't just Teddy. Teddy was important to him. He wanted to impress him and make him feel happy. He wanted to show him that there wasn't going to be any more awkward tension between them since he had left before.
Everything was going to be normal and Felix felt that their date was going to prove that.
"You got this," he said. "You can do this." He cleared his throat and grabbed his keys, walking out the door. Shoot. He ran back to his room and snatched his room key from his nightstand, quickly locking the door. Good thing I didn't forget.
The walk to Teddy's room was short--almost too short. Once Felix's eyes laid upon the numbers on his door, he gulped and slowly raised his arm up, knocking on it lightly. The boy took a couple steps back, clasping his hands together. His fingers fumbled together and he let out deep breaths, trying to calm himself down as he waited.
the world looks better through your eyes
You know both of them? I’m from Seattle, Washington. What about you?
Yeah, I do, actually. Both of them pretty well. That's cool. I'm from Los Angeles.
Yep, I’m happy to see him again
That's good, I guess.Â
Who said I was the only person? I’m probably just the only one to tell it to your face.
I haven't done anything to anybody, there's no reason for disliking me. Your reason is--oh, let me guess--I'm annoying, right? Even though the things I've done to you was because of shit you've done to me first?
No, I actually came on board because I knew he was coming.
Really? Oh, well, that's cool too, I guess.
Yeah we lived together, it was fun.
Oh, that's cool. Pretty coincidental that you two are on the same ship, yeah?
I met the twins! They’re both different like Zack and Cody, that’s cool. So, I’m Josh. Who are you?
Yeah, they definitely are. I'm Felix, nice to meet you. Where are you from, Josh?
Its okay. I’ll warn you next time. Or put a sign saying “Caution: Very hot”Â
That would be very helpful, thank you.
Yeah, thanks. Mhm! we were kind of like foster brothers when he was 14 and I was 16.
Really? So you both lived together?
You must think you’re so clever huh? Teddy’s the dumbass. He likes you for fucks sake. Something’s obviously wrong with his head.
Or maybe something is wrong with you because it seems like you're the only person who doesn't like me.
Lemme guess… because you don’t want to stop being yourself?
Um, I guess. Well, anyways. I don't think we've met before. I'm Felix.
