Artemis, huntress of the moon, make my aim true. Give me goals to seek and the constant determination to achieve them.Grant me communion with nature, allow me to live surrounded by plants and animals that I can grow, protect and nurture.Allow me the strength and wisdom to be my own mistress, not defined by the expectations of others. And sustain my sexuality to be as yours â wild and free as nature itself.
We have all been told at one time or another to take a deep breath, and have felt the powerful and almost immediate calming effects of a mindful controlled deep breath.
As we breathe in, the diaphragm, the large umbrella like muscle at the bottom of the lungs, powers the inhale by contracting and pulling downwards towards the abdomen filling the lungs.
The Vagus nerve, a major nerve responsible for stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system or ârest and digestâ response, runs right through this muscle. Just the act of conscious diaphragmatic breathing can deepen the breath and have a great benefit by moderating the central nervous system, balancing out the all too common state of stress or âfight or flightâ of our sympathetic nervous system.
Because the state of relaxation is, in part, associated with digestion and increased blood flow to the digestive tract deep in the belly, we naturally have an abundance of parasympathetic nerves woven throughout our abdomen. A deep long focused breath will bring movement and suppleness to the abdomen, and help to increase the stimulation of the vital balancing rest and digest side of our nervous system. - Tiffany CruikshankÂ

You do not need to know precisely what is happening, or exactly where it is all going. What you need is to recognize the possibilities and challenges offered by the present moment, and to embrace them with courage, faith and hope.

âIf you do follow your bliss, you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while waiting for you, and the life you ought to be living is the one you are living. When you can see that, you begin to meet people who are in the field of your bliss, and they open the doors to you. I say, follow your bliss and donât be afraid, and doors will open where you didnât know they were going to be. If you follow your bliss, doors will open for you that wouldnât have opened for anyone else.â
