“Me? Picky. I don’t think I’m picky at all. I just happen to have decent standards.” He said, with a smirk. “Oh really? Why not, huh? We’re nice enough guys? We wouldn’t bother you.”

“Uh, because it’s weird.” He replied. “No thanks, I’m good.” It wasn’t about them not bothering him, it was about knowing they had company and it was just weird.

“I should say two of the main ones. There are countless others that I didn’t even comprehend to later.” She corrected herself. “The other one was honor. You could have said the word and I would have followed you to the ends of the earth. But because you knew it wouldn’t be safe you stuck to your guns and left. You put away your own wants and needs to protect me. Even waiting till the last night to kiss me proves what a man you really are. You lassoed my heart Woody Hazzard. Through and through.” 

“Leaving you was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.” It tore him apart. “But, I...I couldn’t put you in danger.” He moved closer and kissed her softly. “I love you. I’ve loved you probably from the moment we met.” A slight grin took over his features. “Well, you lassoed mine too, Ms. Shepherd. So, I think we’re even.”

“Hey, I’ve had plenty of decent dates. I can’t help they don’t go past one date.” He said, with a shake of his head. “You can sleep in your own bed whenever you want, pal.” He smirked.

“You can help it. If you weren’t so picky.” He joked. He then shook his head. “Uh, no. I’m not having a sleepover with my girlfriend when my roommates are home. Between you and Buzz and the job, I have enough trouble getting time alone with her. I’ll just stick with her place.”

The couple were definately two peas in a pod of southern charm. She too had no idea how to dress outside of her comfort zone. Just flowery dresses that bode well in the south was all that really sang to her. He was right, Molly did much better than the two of them at these sorts of things. “Just the usual then.” She said with a flush of pink cheeks loving when he called her beautiful. “Cowboy boots and flannel, is one of two reasons I fell in love with you.” 

He grinned at her lightly. “One of two huh? And what was the other? My dashing good looks?” He was teasing her now, but he was genuinely curious. For him, there had just been something about her that drew him in. Her personality, her wit. Brandy was beautiful inside and out and it still was a mystery to him how he had gotten so lucky.

“Not lately. But I’ll be sure to file that away somewhere useful.” He said, with a smirk. “I guess the joke would be on you then, yeah. I’d probably get a few dozen phone calls. But after weeding through the ones that weren’t so fun. I’d fine a handful or so that were useful.”

“Well, maybe you’d actually get a decent date and I would have the apartment to myself for a change.” He teased. “Not that I mind staying over at Brandy’s place but every now and then, I’d like to sleep in my own bed.”

“But, making fun is really all I have in life aside from work.” He insisted, with a smirk. “Is that why you’re making me pay? I thought it was because you were cheap.” He said, with a roll of his eyes and a laugh. “Let’s go before I change my mind and you’re drinking the cheapest watered down liquor in the place.”

“Have I told you lately that you’re an ass, because you’re an ass.” He joked. “Do it and I’ll post your phone number on the precinct bulletin board.” What a prank that would be. “Of course, you might actually enjoy that, so then the joke would be on me, wouldn’t it?”

“Well if you ever get confused on what to do…just hold out your arm and I’ll do a twirl. I’ll be right there with you, and if you fail we will fail together.”  She drops her hands on her head as if she had forgotten something. “What dress do I wear to these types of things?”

“Noted.” He chuckled lightly, grateful that his girlfriend always knew what to make him feel at ease. However, at her question, Woody shrugged. “Don’t look at me. I’m a cowboy boots and flannel type of guy. If you want fashion advice, your best bet is to go find Molly. But, for the record, you always look beautiful.”

“The coolest? What are we, 12?” He joked. “Alright, I won’t say that. But you have horrible taste in arguments.” He insisted, with a shake of his head. He got up from his seat on the couch and headed to grab his jacket by the door. “The most expensive drink they’ve got? And what if you won’t even drink it.” He said, with a shake of his head. “Could be a huge waste of money.”

“Don’t make fun.” He then grinned. “Well, that’s why I’m making you pay, Davis. If it ain’t my money, then it ain’t my problem.” Woody teased. Of course, he’d never do that to his friend, but he could joke.

“Wow, you guys have the best arguments. Remind me to pull up a seat and check them out next time.” He said, his tone one of obvious teasing. “If you say so. I think you two might both have terrible taste when it comes to certain things. But that’s just me.” He laughed, lightly. “You should. You got a pretty damn good one if I do say so.” He paused for a moment. “Alright, let’s go. First round is on me.”

“I know we do. That’s why we’re the coolest.” He joked. “Well, just don’t say I have horrible taste in women, because then I might have to punch you, no offense.” Brandy was the best, and that was a fact. “Hey, if you’re paying for the first round, I’m ordering the most expensive drink they’ve got.” He teased.

“We have become a bit like home bodies…” Bo leans in giving him a peck on the cheek. “I got invited to one of those roof top parties people always talk about here. We should later tonight. They might have dancing. If not we can just be the ones that start the trend.”

“Let’s do it. We’ll give ‘em something to talk about.” He teased. “Although, I’m not too sure my dancing abilities are up to par. I’m a bit rusty.” It’s not like he’d had a lot of practice over the last few years.

“I am on no one’s side. Are you two really arguing over Batman and Superman, again? I mean, aren’t there better things to argue about?” Not that he could really think of any at the moment. “Personally, I’d rather be totally well adjusted and not have any superpowers. But that’s just me. I mean, I think my life is pretty good as is.” He shrugged. “Anyway, did you want to watch a movie or grab a drink or are you and Buzz going to hash out this Batman and Superman thing for awhile?”

“Well, it was that or whether the Flintstones or the Jetsons were better.” He shrugged. “I can’t help it if I have better taste in television and movies than our dear friend Buzz Lightyear.” He chuckled lightly, as he could practically hear Buzz’ voice in his head telling him he was full of shit. “True. I mean, I like my life.” It was pretty damn good. “Sure, we can do that. I’m done. Buzz knows he’s wrong.”

“Hey, babe? What do you say we go out tonight? A night on the town? It’s been awhile, and might be kind of nice.” They could go for dinner and dancing perhaps?

Woody groaned. “Don’t tell me you’re on Buzz’ side. Look, I’ll make it real simple. Batman was a rich orphan with a nifty tool-belt. Superman was an alien with superpowers. It’s kind of a no-brainer. Besides, would you rather walk around the city dressed as a brooding bat? Or would you rather be able to fly, super-speed and have x-ray vision?

“Very true. Especially when you’re working for yourself.”

“I’ve always thought working for myself would be great. Setting my own hours, Only having to answer to myself. But, when you put it that way, damn. I hadn’t even though about that part of it. Makes me grateful for my job.”

“You’re probably right, but I do appreciate the extra business around holidays.”

“Well, no harm in that. It’s always good to make extra money.”

He’d…dropped his notebook from the tree he’d been sitting in. Again. Oops. Except this time, he’d heard an ‘ow’, or something like it. Double oops. Grimacing, Levi dropped from his place on a branch, and stood in front of whoever he’d dropped his stuff on. “My b, there was a squirrel being a total dick. You good?”

Woody rubbed his head, where a notebook had hit him. He groaned lightly looking over at the perpetrator. “So, you would’ve dropped your notebook on a helpless squirrel?” Woody asked, giving him a look. “You know there are laws against animal cruelty.”

“I will give almost any holiday this: people certainly like getting photographs done for them.”

“I think, for some people, they don’t even need a holiday as an excuse.” Woody replied. Some people just like getting their photos taken.
