Alrighty, so I’ve got some reference images here for you guys as well as a template of the top of the box taken from the movie and Jack’s face for you to print out for your boxes.

Helpful tips on making your box (in no particular organized order, so sorry about that):

For the main body of the tooth box, I used a reflective gold paper found in the scrapbooking section of my local craft store. Gold wrapping paper will work too, but scrapbooking paper is more durable.

Speaking of wrapping paper, you’ll also be wanting the cardboard tube out of a role of wrapping paper to shape your whole box around. Toilet paper tubes and paper towel tubes aren’t as strong as most wrapping paper tubes.

Hot glue guns are your friend! But be careful with it not only because it’s hot, but because if you get the hot glue on your gold paper in spots where you don’t want it to be, getting the hot glue off can easily cause blemishes on the paper

A word of warning for when it does come time to attach the gold paper to the tooth box, if you are using scrapbooking paper, you might have to fight with it a bit depending upon how strong it is.

As for the top of your box:

An exacto knife is also very much your friend.

To get the correct coloring for the diamonds on Jack’s box, I used a couple different kinds of metallic nail polishes.

And watch out cause I’m about to save you a lot of hunting for that goddamn marble patterned paper on the top of Jack’s box!

Go to this site right here, and you can order a sample of some fabulous Peel-and-Stick marble contact paper for only 5.99 (free shipping, and be sure you select Sample, not the Actual Item). It’s nice and glossy, a pretty pattern, and the sample they send you will be more than enough for your tooth box!

(I can’t tell you how much time I wasted looking for something like this, everywhere else was selling way more than I needed for more than I wanted to spend.)
