PM: To be fair, I didn’t ask Kurt to be his co-captain. I went over his head and asked Miss Roselle. I’m not sure if he would have chosen me if he’d had the option.

I saw an interview with Maggie Gyllenhaal where she was asked about how she seems to partner so well in movies. She said that she found a way to fall in love with all of her co-stars. I consider myself a method actor, so I made a strong connection with this idea. When I have to work with people I don’t like, I try to see things from their perspective. Imagine Kurt as a character. His boyfriend has been mugged, in a coma, held captive for a month being made to do who knows what… His relative and one of his best friends left the school and abandoned said boyfriend’s brother. Mason just got here and needs to transition, and Cameron might still be with Charlie right now if Kurt and Phoenix hadn’t stepped in.

He has a difficult, complicated life. He tried to make it easier by choosing a co-captain who he could work with comfortably, and correctly thought that wasn't you. The fact that you're calling him out on his bullshit seems like proof that he made the right decision. But even if you did manage to convince him that you are the right person for Glee, he’d have to humble himself to fix everything. He’d have to say, “You’re right, I was wrong. I chose based on my own personal issues rather than who would be best for Glee. I will now go and tell the new foreign kid that he doesn’t get the position of co-captain. After that, I’ll make a giant poster that says ‘KURT HUMMEL IS A DOMINANT WHO MADE A MISTAKE. When I said that I would be superior to him, I wasn’t implying that I’d be a better Dominant or anything like that, I was merely teasing and being my typical self-absorbed self by implying that I’m better than everyone. Hunter grabbed their knives and forks as he placed their food at the table, watching where he stepped as he did since Winnie had a habit of making sure she was standing wherever his foot was about to land. He was almost sure she did it on purpose to get sympathy and to have an excuse to claw at his ankle a bit. “It’s fine if it’s illegal, as long as you don’t get caught.” He said with a smirk and a wink in Daniel’s direction.

Hunter sat down in front of his plate while listening to Daniel speak, his eyes widening at the mention of a tracker. “If you think that is necessary I don’t mind having it. It would probably come in handy more when we’ve left school and we’re out in the world, as it is now I’d never be that far away from you since we’re not even allowed off campus. I could always just text you regularly about where I am.”

Daniel glanced longingly at the couch and television in the living room, but decided to be mannerly and sit with Hunter. After guiding Winnie out of the way with his foot and hissing at her in warning, he fell into the chair noisily. "The only time I've ever been caught is when I turned myself in. I'm a Korean ninja."

Frowning and picking at his food, Daniel shrugged. "I like knowing where you are. I don't think texting me is a feasible option. You are a social person. It'd be a lot of effort on your part."

Hunter’s eyes closed as Daniel kissed his forehead, giving him a smile as he pulled back. “Seeing claims fall apart makes me worried…So it bothered you that I didn’t seem excited? I think talking over rules for the trial claim would make me excited.” He hinted, looking hopeful.

He chucked as Daniel hit his head on the cabinet behind him, reaching up to rub the back of his head before he grabbed under the other man’s knees and pulled him forward a little away from the cabinet. “I wouldn’t say that too loud if I were you, I don’t think that would do your campaign for student council any good.” He teased him before letting go of his knees and going over to the food to plate it.

"Me, too." Daniel was a little dazed and dreamy as he stared after Hunter. He caught himself almost immediately and was embarrassed enough to physically shake himself free of the fog. He jumped off the counter and got their drinks out of the fridge for something to do. "It's not illegal to think... Although I suppose it is illegal to plan as thoroughly as I do."

He closed the refrigerator with his hip and followed Hunter out of the kitchen, hugging their drinks to his chest as he fished his phone out of his pocket again. If they were going to talk about rules, he was going to take notes. "I like our daily lives as they are right now for the most part, but I would like to be more aware of where you are, when, etc. Instead of keeping a schedule, would you mind if I gave you a GPS tracker?"

PM: “ Gi-nam is talented, he’s kind, he talks to most people, his application was impressive and I think we’ll make a good team. I don’t need to give you any more justification than that,” was his final explanation. Originally he’d said that his application was better, that he chose Gi, because my talents are better suited for the stage, not off it. When I asked for more, he basically implied he believed I would give myself all the solos in our competitions, and he added that Gi’s application had more variety. I’ve already come to the conclusion that we are no longer friends, if we ever were.

PM: There’s a lot of reasons why Kurt could have chosen Gi over you. He said your talents are more suited for the stage, so I can imagine him wanting to spread Glee’s responsibilities among as many people as possible. He's also a very good follower, whereas I’m starting to see that you’re remarkably feisty. Kurt might be the type of person who would prefer someone more easygoing than challenging.

If I could give you a suggestion, I would say that you should try not to end friendships with people you need. If you can find a way to see things from his side, it might pay off for you later. It seems like being able to find something to like about your coworkers is a necessary evil in the entertainment industry.

Could you really respect a Dominant who you’re superior to? Could they respect themselves? That’s why I feel a relationship is better with a switch. A switch who can stand toe-to-toe with you is a successful switch; a Dominant who is lesser than you is someone who is a shitty Dominant.

Isn’t having your claims as servants really just free labor, i.e. slavery? Miss Corcoran tried to give me this anti-slavery tirade when I went to her for a Dom assessment, and I told her, “This school constantly encourages us to use the blue and purple roses for chores, and then expects us not to see them as slaves?”
