“Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.” - 2 Corinthians 7:10 Because of sin, sorrow is inevitable, but two types of sorrow can lead you into two different directions for your life. Godly sorrow will lead you to repent from your sin and turn back to God. You are no longer bounded by your sin, but free in Christ to stand up again. However, worldly sorrow only leads you deeper and deeper into sorrow and shame over your sin. You’ll find yourself feeling guilty and hopeless, as you hold onto your sin and personal desires, as opposed to God’s plan for you. When you find yourself entangled by sin, acknowledge it, repent of it sincerely, and turn back to God. Let go of the sin you desire, and allow God to cleanse you. He longs to fill your heart with His desires so that you experience fullness of joy. Worldly sorrow will lead you to hopelessness in this world; Godly sorrow will lead you to God. Sunshine peeking through lace is something easily ignored. But when it becomes an unexpected glimmer of joy at the end of your day, a little piece of you is reminded that, while you chase after dreams, what you've already been given is enough. #gratitude #joy
There is such a thing as ‘thanks-feeling’ - feeling thankful. This ought to be the general, universal spirit of the Christian. - Charles Spurgeon #WTSInspire
