lots going on here, my favourite being how somebody wrote "DYKE" over mine- like, yeah, I am a dyke, is there a point or...? also, somebody wrote "TOY" over segue's classic "doesn't bash back cuz he doesn't hit women", reminder to him that he contributed to a climate wherein my very identity is used as an insult!
No transphobia! No sex worker hate!
This hate-speach stencil is found in a few places in the Gay Village in Montreal. It reads ” OUT clients prostitution travelos (demeaning word in french for trans people) OUT ”. Most of the time the stencil is exactly on the territory of trans sex workers.
Stela and I are on a mission to erase these hate speaches from our neighborhood!
Saw this awesome sticker on a newspaper box somewhere along Dundas Street between Yonge St and Spadina Ave.
End Rape Culture campaign in Toronto, Canada.
I’ve found these around the city as I walk around. Sometimes I see them and I feel a little braver.
GIRL is fantastic and I keep seeing more and more awesome street artists in Toronto speaking out about rape culture. Good things are a’happening in Toronto

a few gems from today’s trips to chinatown and downtown toronto
Found these stickers behind University College on University of Toronto - St. George campus.
Credit to GIRL for these stickers!
I love this! #workofgirl #fearthisqueer #queer #bashback

hey i just wanted to say that i aplaud what your doing, but i dont fully agree with your message. fighting against rape and the culture the breeds it is importand and a fully valid reason to protest loudly and proudly but phrases like "kill your rapist & bash back" promote fighting violence with violence, atrocity with atrocity. i dont condone that act of murder any more than i condone rape. and i have always believed that meeting violence with violencewas a ignorent way to deal. -evil one, swm

You know, the only people who’ve been really obviously opposed to it are rape apologists and rapists and abusers (and Segue, make of that what you will)- so I guess if they’re upset I’m doing something really right? Like, I really don’t care about their feelings, unless their feelings are “fear”, in which case that’s basically exactly what I want.
Listen, okay- you saying it promotes “fighting violence with violence” insinuates that we are playing (fighting) on level playing fields here. If that were so, you might have a point. But we’re not playing on level playing fields, because systematic institutional oppression is, you know, a thing, and it’s a thing that skews favour way towards some folks and way away from others. This is a fact! Racism, sexism, cissexism, ableism, heterosexism, and on and on and on mean we’re all not equal, and these are things that contribute to a culture wherein some people rape and abuse and assault and think (know!!) they’re going to get away with it.
I know, as a feminist activist, people are going to call me hysterical and say I’m overreacting and a bitch and whatever else. So I’m going to go the full nine yards, and really be a hysterical bitch and own that shit, which means I… make angry stickers. Like, please, that is literally all I am doing. People are sometimes angrier about my stickers than they are about the fact that rape is an actual thing that happens. Please think about that for five minutes, okay! Reread that sentence!
What do you think my message is, exactly? It’s really great to fantasize about killing abusers, but what do you actually get from this? I make rapists and abusers and their apologists afraid, or angry… and I make some survivors feel not alone, I tell other queer people I’m here too, I take back a little public space. And maybe for a few minutes we imagine killing our abusers, yeah. This doesn’t suddenly mean the scales are tipped and we’re all nice and level.
Get back to me when that happens, then maybe your argument will hold some water. Until then, you do you, and Imma do me.

if your reaction to me saying "kill your rapist" is "oh yeah bitch please", I'm going to safely assume you're probably a rapist!

in case you ever wondered why I would get so angry about/disgusted by "Segue is afraid of no queer"- dude fed directly into a culture wherein some people want us dead. this shit doesn't happen in a vacuum and stickers on the street are going to be seen by people who aren't going to know his shit is a reaction to mine (which is, of course, a reaction to mindsets like the above); they're going to see "Segue is afraid of no queer" and they're going to dig the fact that there is a fellow homophobic asshole making his opinion known.
Segue hasn't been putting up that shit series lately, but he's been a big boy by putting up his No Fun Press and BOTY over my stuff. cute, dude. you want me to stop- won't fucking happen- maybe you shouldn't have been a major douche.
