Honestly, I’m disappointed in the person who originally posted the screening code. I’m not surprised that people went and looked, just as I’m not surprised that Amazon noticed soon enough that the code was being used all over the world, and shut it down. Given that it was a TV Academy screener link code, and they go out to individual people, I’m sad that the person who handed out the personalised code will inevitably get into trouble from the Academy.

I wish that some people hadn’t watched Good Omens ahead of everyone else. I’m glad that most of the people who did haven’t spoiled anything. (Even if you can’t wait until Christmas, it’s not fair to open other people’s Christmas presents for them, after all.)

Please don’t post things like this, and if you do, don’t tag me in them. I’ve spent four whole years of my life writing and making Good Omens, and for me a big part of the pleasure of making a show is watching people’s reactions to it and letting it happen all together. I didn’t pick the release date, but it’s only a little over two weeks to go.

Sometimes it’s part of the communal joy to wait for the special day, and do something together. I can’t wait until the day when people can see Good Omens, can argue and exult and explain and talk and share ideas about it together. But I have to wait for that day too. And I’m good with that.
