When Hindustan motors, India's largest car manufacturer, created the ambassador, it became one of indias most popular whips in the 60's. And for good reason too. The Taj Mahal. They treat it like a Holy place. I wanted to document my experience here with my camera, microphone, and gimbal but security wasn't having it. I had to pay someone outside to hold my gear for me. Only still photography allowed. The building itself is quite impressive. What seemed to be a large well chiseled marble monument turned out to be much more. When you get close you can see delicate patterns of stone inlays that decorate the entire structure. No paint. All expensive stones from across Asia. I went to a local artisan in Agra who showed me how the designs were made. Simply incredible. And this is only one aspect that took my impression of the Taj to a whole new level. The Taj is a true masterpiece and a testament to Islamic architecture.
