I love that the medieval epic poetry task was assumed to be “catch the cat” because that’s 100% what all the bad suitors would try to do - succeed through force. Meanwhile the impoverished but kind hearted suitor would understand the value of kindness and humility and so on and take the time to befriend the cat, thereby outsmarting what is meant to be an unbeatable challenge established by some possessive father.
