Managed by @marionetteangie , this is the place on Tumblr for all the content I upload on https://worldchorusarchive.blogspot.com/ ! Disclaimer!! Everything found here is either publicly available, sent to me, or created by me!
I did something I’ve been wanting to do for YEARS and updated the Fandom page for World Chorus because it was outdated 5 years ago and remains outdated. So here I am!
The mods have been good at cleaning up my infodump 😂
World Chorus was a walk-through attraction at Disneyland Paris located at the exit of It's a Small World. It was created due to the sponsors
Hey guys! Yesterday I was scrubbing through some of the World Chorus videos I’ve compiled: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLyD683ZvQYu-bK4psEQ0whQfds1VWPxB_&si=aXk8HE9dqZ--kold and I thought it might be fun to try screenshotting some of the Jules frames you can find! It will give us all a laugh and also just be some fun content for the blog, since it’s been a while since I made a post about something memeable or silly here! So without further ado, I’ve got some cute frames and some really silly ones, and I just love Jules with all my heart even when he looks like a silly lil guy <3
Tfw you're trying to make an archive all about a lost post show and blogspot keeps corrupting images so they become lost AGAIN -_- (I have them backed up on my computer but c'mon, I have hundreds and cannot remember where they're supposed to go :,D)
Hey guys! Today I was scrubbing through some of the World Chorus videos I’ve compiled: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLyD683ZvQYu-bK4p
I feel a bit guilty I can't put everything from the archive onto Tumblr but it's due to the fact the site is annoying about images and how many I can put at a time, it's not my fault UnU
I wanted to show you some of the characters I’ve been building over the last (almost) 5 years, so I hope you all enjoy it!
Though the Archive doesn’t exactly have any “goals”, I hope this year it keeps growing, and more and more people find it!
Another small note is I absolutely love it when I receive fanart, art trades, anything! So feel free to DM me on Instagram for any of those, at GoldenHeartArt_, or contact my email [email protected]. Alternatively, come “attack” me in July on ArtFight, and all your beautiful art will be saved to my phone folder so I can admire it forever <3
Today I bring you another, more creative, post! These are some of my headcanons for the various kids who live in World Chorus, as well as the group as a whole! I’ve spoken about them before, but I’d like to expand on how I view each of the characters, how they differ from their canon counterparts, and the group as a whole!
Here we go!
Full group headcanon:
If any of the World Chorus kids (except Jules, Zuri and Rouge) step outside the glass windows, they fall through and become little 3D dolls! They’re about as tall as a funko pop would be, and Jules leads them, both as their conductor and their older brother figure
Any silhouettes on the wall can come alive and 3D, and also the ones around Jules, as seen above.
The entire group is a choir and band called The World Chorus
When a character lives in a country, this is only in animation. When 3D, they all call the World Chorus building their home
During park hours, they can’t leave their animation windows, and perform the same loop over and over, essentially being unaware they do so. But when they’re doing concerts, special events, or it’s nighttime, they have free will.
They can’t eat when in 3D form, but due to animation logic, they can when they’re in their screens.
The characters on the exit banner don’t come to life (so far, I might change this one day, but it’s due to the fact that Jules is depicted outside of the Eiffel Tower, and for continuity I don’t like having more than one Jules running around!)
Jules can step inside the glass by putting his hand on it, but any Jules in the animation is either a representation of him inside the Eiffel Tower (such as in the choir scene, I imagine that is just him in performance mode), or pre-recorded (such as with Abby and Addi.)
Jules:
The conductor of World Chorus
Zuri’s boyfriend
Obsessed with music and composing
Speaks French and English though he typically speaks in English
He can play any instrument due to his programming, and is in charge of managing sheet music for various things, like when it’s a small world appears in Disney On Ice
He takes care of all the World Chorus kids and acts as their older brother
He’s very sweet and kind and very caring toward the other people, and can be quite humble and easily charmed, but he always practices self-care too!
His baton is sentient and sometimes moves on its own, and is VERY mischievous and troublesome when it wants to be, though most of the time it behaves and does music magic properly (he takes sheet music off the page and levitates it to make sound and music)
Jules has a switch on his shoulder that allows him to be powered on and off (all small world dolls do)
His bowtie turns pink/red when he gets flustered/blushes, especially around Zuri
He has many different suits, some more casual, some more fancy, all matching the ones he wears in the attraction and some I’ve designed for him
(Very self-indulgent but whatever he’s basically my OC after 5 years of drawing him), he’d remember me from when I was young and be happy I still remember him and make art/do crafts of him etc
He’s got a (fictional) father figure in an older cast member named Jean, because originally I was gonna name him Jean but I thought it didn’t sound right, so very early on he got renamed to Jules!
He and the rest of the dolls are mentally around 10 years old, and cannot age physically OR mentally (some of the World Chorus kids are mentally younger but none of them exceed 9, and Rouge would be closer to 11 maturity-wise)
He’s a bit shy about singing but he will occasionally join in if he’s convinced to do so, usually by the other World Chorus kids or by Zuri
Jules’s relationships:
Zuri (Girlfriend)
Rouge (Older brother)
The rest of the kids (Family)
Jean (father figure)
Me (Bestie :D)
Zuri:
A doll who lives inside the ‘it’s a small world’ ride
Jules’s girlfriend
She leads the tambourine troupe inside the ride
She really likes Esmerelda
She can be feisty and hates when anyone insults Jules or leaves the boats in the rides (which unfortunately is becoming more and more common)
She’s got a unique angle on fashion due to her choice to wear a niqab, and likes coordinating her outfits to make sure it looks good
She used to not like Rouge but nowadays sees him as a sort of older brother, since he calmed down and stopped being so blinded by his selfishness.
Zuri’s relationships:
Jules (Boyfriend)
Rouge (Older brother)
The rest of the kids (Family)
Rouge Rose:
A doll who lives inside the ‘it’s a small world’ ride
He used to be way more antagonistic and selfish, but he calmed down and became much nicer, since his programming was changed by the cast members after an incident
He learned more about morality and faces a lot of guilt deep down for how he treated Jules and Zuri back then, and wants to atone for what he did, acting as an older brother to both of them and in turn, the rest of the World Chorus kids
Rouge didn’t originally come from the ride, rather a Paris Fashion House where the cutthroat environment was what he was programmed for, as he was a doll used to model clothes in a shop window instead of a singing, dancing doll
Since he doesn’t have performing arts talent, he manages technical things like the curtain or lighting (he sings like a seagull TOT)
Rouge’s relationships:
Zuri and Jules (Younger siblings)
The rest of the kids (Family)
Arthur:
Likes to design things and play games (as evidenced by him creating the poster with Pascal)
He’s very easy to make laugh, and he likes watching Pascal’s cat cause mischief. He likes to tell jokes with Lorenzo
He’s the graphic designer of World Chorus, but also sings in Dutch and can speak French and German. He’s Belgian.
He’s friendly with Julia since she likes his posters a lot
Arthur’s relationships:
Pascal (Best friend)
Lorenzo (Close friend)
Julia (Friend)
The rest of the kids + Jules (Family)
Pascal:
Also likes to design things, and loves cats
He’s a gamer too but often gets beat by Arthur, which causes them to bicker playfully.
Friends with Moses and Victoria as well, sharing his love for cats with Victoria
He helps Jules organize all the concerts and designs posters with Arthur. He also sings in Arabic.
Pascal’s relationships:
Arthur (Best friend)
Moses and Victoria (Close friends)
The rest of the kids + Jules (Family)
Some of these guys don’t have names yet! ^^;
Moses:
In charge of distributing the sheet music amongst everyone due to his fax machine
Sings in Arabic and enjoys performing with Jules
Has a fear of the dark
Can sight read (I’m jealous TnT)
The first one who discovered they could leave their screens and go into reality as little 3D dolls!
Friends with Pascal and they often harmonize together when singing
Moses’s relationships:

Jules likes to ask him for help with chords and harmonies
He speaks French, Spanish, English, and Portuguese!
He likes to talk to Adrian, since they can get into mischief when together!
He’s also friendly with Lucky, and since they both play guitar, they either play together or have little rival jam sessions, with Jules usually being forced to judge and calling them both his little winners XD
Miguel’s relationships:
Charlotte (Best friend)
Adrian (Close friend)
Lucky (Close friend)
Jules (older brother figure)
The rest of the kids (Family)
Charlotte:
Loves pastries, milkshakes and hot chocolate, which is why she goes to the cafe so often! (Even though dolls can’t really eat, but it’s cartoon logic right?)
She loves flowers, especially roses, and explores the foliage outside the ride a lot with Olivia
She loves hanging out with Miguel and how he plays his guitar. She admires him and wants to learn, so he’s taught her a little.
She talks in French with Jules and Miguel, but English with everyone else, and sometimes interchanges depending on who she’s with.
She’s Celine’s penpal!
Charlotte’s relationships:
Miguel (Best friend)
Olivia (Close friend)
Celine (Friend)
The rest of the kids + Jules (Family)
Lucky:
Usually chilled out, but can be enthusiastic to join in depending on what Jules plans for the group, especially if it involves going to Frontierland
He likes to dance with his best friend Daphne, and knows quite a few styles of dancing
He’s also friends with the ginger cowgirl, one of Moses’s friends, and plays guitar whilst she sings.
He admires one of my other OCs, Clyde, who is part of my little group of ‘Park Protectors’, and a fellow cowboy.
He likes adrenaline rushes, so he always begs Jules to take him on Big Thunder after the park closes, and wants to solve all the mysteries of Thunder Mesa, even though he’s supposed to stay in World Chorus most of the time.
Lucky’s relationships:
Daphne (Best friend)
Ginger Cowgirl (Close friend)
The rest of the kids + Jules (Family)
Daphne:
Speaks English and Spanish, and interchanges them when she’s with someone like Miguel.
She’s the one who taught Lucky how to dance, and knows many different styles, so she often choreographs their performances at concerts.
She sings in their choir, and sometimes Lorenzo lets her borrow his stage for practice.
Surprisingly, she’s good at cooking, even though dolls can’t exactly eat, but she helps the cast members occasionally.
Daphne’s relationships:
Lucky (Best friend)
Lorenzo (friend)
Miguel (friend)
The rest of the kids + Jules (Family)
Makoto:
Loves cherry blossoms and cute, soft things
He likes to digitize sheet music, so Jules often goes to him for help with it
He’s often sleepy and stays indoors, but will go outside if it’s with his best friend Diego
He can be very sweet and warm, and is pretty chill with everyone, but he can get annoyed at Alex and Conrad’s bickering
He speaks English and Japanese, and wants to go to Tokyo Disney Resort with his family
He’s pretty good with tech, which is an advantage when it comes to an attraction all about telecommunications, and he can fix most things!
Makoto’s relationships:
Diego (Best friend)
Alex and Conrad (friends but he keeps them in line)
The rest of the kids + Jules (Family)
Diego:
Super enthusiastic all the time, like he’s on a sugar high
He’s one of the youngest, but he insists on being taken seriously despite that
He likes to wake up early and sleep late, and tries to get Makoto out of bed even though Makoto loves his sleep
He likes to sing the music Makoto digitizes, so insists Makoto sends it to him every time
Despite how fun and silly he can be, Diego really cares about everyone, and loves his family dearly
Diego’s relationships:
Makoto (Best friend)
The rest of the kids + Jules (Family)
Julia:
A huge dog person
She loves to collect posters, so she’s friendly with Arthur and likes to see what he designs.
Posters also often hold special memories for her, like trips or concerts, which is why they mean so much to her
She enjoys singing and likes to train her voice with Victoria, and the two often talk about cats and dogs together
Her orange card is special to her, since it lets her rewatch videos of the past concerts, similarly to the one Abigail and Adrian have, and since it’s precious to her, she takes it with her everywhere.
She can be a bit introverted but she loves hugs.
Juliette often encourages her to dress how she likes and makes her custom outfits, such as the art of her dressed like ShellieMay.

Olivia:
Can be quite shy, but gets talkative when she’s with Lorenzo

She also really likes listening to music and singing, but her favourite thing to do is watch Lorenzo onstage, since she admires his confidence in performance
Olivia’s relationships:
Lorenzo (Best friend)
Charlotte (Close friend)
The rest of the kids + Jules (Family)
Victoria:
A huge cat person
Loves to sing and has her own little recording studio setup, which was kindly made for her by Jules
Usually Jules asks her to help him test harmonies and vocals, and she encourages him to sing with her even though he’s a bit shy about his voice
She has an older brother named Harry and they can be a bit competitive with each other, doing singing battles etc, but they also love each other very, very much.
Pascal also likes cats, so they get along well
Victoria’s relationships:
Julia (Best friend)
Harry (Older brother)
Frisky (Her cat)
Pascal (Close friend)
The rest of the kids + Jules (Family)
Leonardo:
Refuses to walk anywhere, only to use his plane, and complains about his feet hurting a lot haha
His plane can turn 3D if he flies it through the glass, just like everyone’s instruments, pets, etc
He was given his green scarf by Hans, his best friend.
He wears his headphones even outside of his plane because they provide him a certain amount of security, comfort, and he likes to listen to music with them (relatable)
Leonardo’s relationships:
Hans (Best friend)
The rest of the kids + Jules (Family)
Hans:
Likes to read messages from Leonardo when he can’t visit him, but also loves to fly in his plane whenever they’re together
He’s Leo’s best friend and loves to give him presents
His dog, Patches, comforts him when he’s scared or lonely, as he gets a bit of stage fright before performances
He likes to dance despite this, so he admires Lorenzo and Daphne from afar, because he’s a little introverted
He’s Conrad’s cousin, but unlike Conrad, he’s a lot more soft and sweet, which makes him a bit of a pushover. He does love his big cousin though, and really enjoys spending time with him.
Hans’s relationships:
Leonardo (Best friend)
Patches (Beloved doggo)
Conrad (Cousin)
The rest of the kids + Jules (Family)
Abigail:
Adrian’s fraternal twin
Despite how different they look, she can be similar to him in terms of personality, and they like to do things together, since their interests complement each other
Abigail loves music and the idea of exploring the ocean
She read the book 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and prefers it to the movie, but her favourite character is Captain Nemo, and she often gets Jules to read her the book as a bedtime story.
She calls Adrian ‘Addi’
Abigail’s relationships:
Adrian (Twin)

Adrian:
Abigail’s fraternal twin
Despite how different they look, he can be similar to her in terms of personality, and they like to do things together, since their interests complement each other

He’s a bit of a social butterfly, since he’s easy-going and finds making friends comes naturally to him
He has tribal lineage and likes to teach his friends about diverse customs and traditions
He loves his parrot Feathers, and refuses to be separated from him
He also likes playing outside and exploring nooks and crannies, he’s a bit infamous for his curiosity and tendency to poke around where he shouldn’t!
Hahn’s relationships:
3 friends (Best friends)
Feathers (Favourite lil birb!)
The rest of the kids + Jules (Family)
Friends of Hahn:
The eskimo girl can be shy and talks less than everyone else, sometimes preferring to write instead of speak, but Hahn easily interprets what she’s thinking. She likes to listen to Lumina, and her favourite member is Emilio
The Japanese girl is very organized, which comes in handy for Jules since she’s the type of person to have a thousand ‘to-do’ lists already made for him. Hahn is good at getting her to lighten up though when she overthinks and becomes stressed, since he’s good at helping her relax. She’s usually online, and listens to music when she’s working. She doesn’t appreciate being called short, which typically happens a lot!
The European boy is very chatty and energetic, and is closest with Hahn out of the trio. He often loses sleep due to going on calls or hanging out late with Hahn, but he’s got a bit of a fear of bugs and doesn’t like getting dirty, so sometimes he gets a bit grouchy if Hahn makes him go outside!
Helen:
Leader of the small choir, and one of the oldest and most mature of the World Chorus kids.
She’s friendly with Juli since Juli designed their choir outfits and she finds them beautiful.
She’s known for her punctuality, and has an alto voice, which compliments Priscilla’s soprano voice very well.
She’s good with hair and likes to style Priscilla’s, the two of them are pretty close.
She’s also best friends with Brittany, and treats her like a little sister just like Mark.
I like to think Helen, Brittany and Priscilla would have girly nights sometimes where they watch Disney movies and play dress-up
Helen’s relationships:
Priscilla (Best friend)
Brittany (Best friend)
Juliette (Close friend)
Rest of the choir (Close friends)
The rest of the kids + Jules (Family)
Mark:
Very relaxed and chill, but also known for his talent at keeping the choir in order, and stopping Brittany and Christopher from being too rowdy.
He ‘s best friends with and protective of Brittany, since she reminds him of his little brother, Harold, who lives in Ireland whilst he lives in England.
He often phones Harold, and checks up on him since he can be a little protective, despite the fact Harold is quite independent.
If he ever played it, I imagine he’d find Hero a little relatable from Omori.
He organises when the choir practices, and is a peacekeeper like Helen
Mark’s relationships:
Brittany (Best friend)
Rest of the choir (Close friends)
Harold (Little brother)
The rest of the kids + Jules (Family)
Christopher:
The shortest of the group and subjected to height jokes quite often
He likes to tell jokes and is often the funniest person in the room, sometimes rivalling Lorenzo with his humor!
He’s very enthusiastic about performing and always gives it 110%
He sometimes gets into little arguments with Brittany, mostly about stupid stuff like who sings better.
He likes Priscilla taking care of him and goes quite soft around her, whereas with the others he can be a bit brash and boastful if he gets in a mood, but with Priscilla he’s got a lot of respect for her and sees her like a big sister.
Christopher’s relationships:

Shyest girl in the choir, but she really brightens up when onstage
She’s very sweet and warm, and likes to show love through acts of care, like getting everyone blankets when they’re tired from a long day of practice.
She’s got a soprano voice and can reach tough high notes with it
She usually doesn’t say much, but she likes spending time with the other girls and Christopher, who really warms up to her, but she’s a peacekeeper like the other two older members.
Her favourite princesses are Snow White and Cinderella, and she likes to dress up like them
She’s the girliest out of the choir, and Jules got her some autographs from the princesses as a gift, by scanning them and shrinking them down for her!

She loves her goldfish Bubbles with all her heart, and will fight you if you try to separate them
She’s got a good fashion sense and loves trying on new clothes, making her a good friend to Juli!
She’s Alberto’s best friend and complements his quieter nature with her loud and fun personality, and she helps him step out of his comfort zone!
She likes Makoto but gets slightly afraid of his fury whenever he loses his chill
She has a big sister in Lumina, Polina, and knows a little balalaika thanks to her! She really admires Polina and loves when she visits!
Alexandra’s relationships:

Juli (Close friend)
Makoto (Friend)
Bubbles (Beloved fishy)
Conrad (Rival)
The rest of the kids + Jules (Family)

He wears a headscarf and often gets advice from Zuri about styling it, since she wears a niqab
He prefers long sleeved clothes more than short sleeved, and usually layers them to keep warm
He likes to go to cafes after sailing, and likes Italian opera!
Alberto’s relationships:
Alexandra (Best friend)
Zuri (Close friend)
Tito (Friend)
Gondolier (Friend)
The rest of the kids + Jules (Family)

He can be argumentative and insults people often, but underneath he’s very insecure and wants to be brave, often going to great lengths to prove himself
He secretly wants to be friends with Alexandra, but doesn’t know how to approach her, and it’s the same vice versa
He curses in German often, using the word ‘nervige’, and Jules blocks it out with his symphonies
He’s one of the oldest and wants to be perceived as more mature than he actually is
Since he’s Hans’s older cousin, he can be a little protective of him, but also tries to impress him when they’re together. He does love him a lot though, and would do anything for him.
He teaches Ken how to play piano, and is a bit of a prodigy when it comes to it, often helping Jules figure out melodies
He loves bluebirds and has many of them as pets, and they can understand him when he speaks, too!
He’s also a little spooked whenever Makoto loses his chill haha!

He dreams of being a world-class pianist and owning his own grand piano like Conrad’s, but for now Conrad is happy to share.
He likes to stay indoors and can be a bit shy, but he likes Conrad’s bluebirds and plays with them sometimes
He and Alberto have their softness in common, but they don’t get to talk often since they’re usually dragging Conrad and Alex away from ripping each other to pieces!
Ken’s relationships:

He’s very much similar to Mark in that he’s good at keeping the others in his group out of trouble and cares for his younger sibling
He can be quite formal and polite at times, but he’d never judge anyone and always tries to see the best in them, rather than looking down on them or something like that.
Harry’s relationships:
Victoria (Little sister)
Juli and Harry (Close friends)
Lorenzo (Friend)
The rest of the kids + Jules (Family)
Fiyero:
Stubborn and impatient, with a short temper
He’s always stuck waiting for his sleepy bull to wake tf up so he gets annoyed a lot
He plays the castanets, and he’s one of the younger members of the band, so he’s forgiven for his short fuse, and Jules finds it a bit endearing since he’s willing to fight for what he loves.
He doesn’t actually fight his bull, just play fights him, and his bull is like his pet so they don’t harm each other and it’s just a fun thing for them.
Fiyero’s relationships:
Bull (ANGY at him but also loves him, he wouldn’t actually fight him, they’d just playfight)

Harold:
Part of the “CGI gang” who can pop out of the Small World Small Talk screens!
He’s the youngest in the CGI gang and lives in Ireland, away from his big brother Mark.
He likes to dance, so he and Palila get along really well
He was the one who discovered the CGI gang could leave the CGI phone boxes like the rest of the World Chorus, and looks up to the other World Chorus kids and wants to be like them (it’s cute since he’s still discovering what makes him unique, in a sense)
He likes to talk to Mark on the phone, and despite having a good heart he can be mischievous!
Ah, the it's a small world hat. Something I often see on ebay and unfortunately do not own, however I do have a theory about this hat. And some of you are probably like, “Miss World Chorus Archivist, how the hell can you make a theory based on a HAT?! That’s delusional!” and to that I say…tsk tsk tsk I have been researching a children’s post-ride walkthrough for four years of my life, I’m already delusional so hear me out and SILENCE.
Embark on the happiest cruise that ever sailed each time you don this colorful baseball cap inspired by Disney it's a small world attraction. There's just one moon and one golden sun - but this hat will shade almost anyone!

First, let’s take a look at what is written on the actual site. The hat was made for both US Disney parks, and has several travel patches. These hint toward other aspects of it’s a small world not present in the ‘boat tour’ aspect. And these are where my hat theory comes in. As we can see on the provided images, there are two patches on the left side of the hat. One of these is a patch which says “Small Boat, Big Hearts”, which honestly I believe could refer to the guests who board the attraction, no matter where they’re from or who they are. It could also potentially be some sort of reference to Hong Kong or Tokyo, but it’s largely unimportant, just symbolising the love we share. We are also given a quick history lesson on the US versions of the attraction, (“Walt Disney's ''it's a small world'' opened at The New York World's Fair in 1964, then moved to Disneyland in 1966 and opened at Walt Disney World in 1971”), and then we have another especially important patch. This patch represents Disneyland Paris’s version of the attraction, stating “Day and Night Boat Tours”, obviously referring to their version of the facade depicting the sun and moon instead of the typical smiling clock face (Glockenspiel). So, we have a potential representation of WDW/California with the boat tour applique, a representation of the guests with the hearts, or the 2 other locations if you prefer, and the Paris version of the attraction.
Now let’s flip the cap around…
2 more patches, one once again representing California, stating “Sailing Together since 1966”, and as said by the little historical tidbit in the cap description, the ride opened in Disneyland Park in 1966, with the iconic original facade we all know and love. But this is where things get interesting! The second patch is a small triangle with an Eiffel Tower in the centre, with the phrase “Tour the world in minutes”.
Now what does that sound like? Just add a conductor! XD
In all seriousness, well as serious as this stupid hat theory can be, this is quite possibly an incredibly well-hidden reference to the former post show from 2019, which may mean someone at Disney still remembers it! While the model of the tower isn’t identical to the one in World Chorus (That had an extra split for mechanics, lighting, the doll, and also accuracy), it is pretty close and the use of the phrase “Tour the world in minutes” also reminds me of that walkthrough. It doesn’t say “sail around the world in minutes”, like the other boat-related phrases on the hat, but rather focuses on the idea of a tour, potentially a walking tour!
For comparison, the hat omits the middle section for a more simplified design.
Overall, it would make me so happy if this was a reference to the post show, because 5 years is quite recent for them to still be talking about it, considering it’s been around 14 years since the post show closed. It would be great if they eventually went into more detail about the closure and what became of the place, considering many of the concept arts were sold on Heritage Auctions, but for now, we have unanswered questions and my dumb hat theory!
Update 4th April: Photos got corrupted so attempted to restore post :)))
How to contact me if you have a photo or video you’d like to share
I have a few main ways that you can contact me to share anything to do with the post show, which will have occasional update posts with any new photos or videos.
This inbox has been created specifically to hold anything I’m sent from viewers of this blog.
It can be used for sending higher-quality images, as well as information such as articles, videos, and any other media you find.

You can also either tag or DM me on my Instagram, though please know since that is my main platform, I have had trouble with managing DMs in the past and thus prefer an individualised email.
If you are sending me anything on Instagram, please preface it by explaining you came from the blog, as sometimes it can be hard to tell why someone is messaging me.
Alternatively, you can comment with links to anything you may have found, any and all comments are appreciated!
The silhouetted children of World Chorus were found on the walls of the attraction, on the outside before people entered the spiral. They were very simple shadow and light effects that acted as the first ‘stage’ in the complexity of the animation (before Small World Small Talk, the room had a sort of progression that acted as shadows -> 2D animation -> 3D doll), and they depicted characters from all over the world using telecommunication to talk to each other, or devices to take photos, record etc. They activated when a fibre-optic shooting star ‘hit’ a building, though this effect didn’t work in the last few years of operation.
A similar effect was also used for the shadows surrounding the conductor doll, but in 3D.

Though there wasn’t much in the realm of merchandise for the attraction, there were a few notable pieces.
France Telecom had a pin that showed their sponsorship of the attraction, though not necessarily one that depicted World Chorus.
There was also a telecarte, which I happen to own! These were used to make phone calls way back when.
My little display, with a tiny Jules plush someone made me sitting next to the telecarte, on top of the Tokyo popcorn bucket and in front of two small world dolls (there's also a teeny drawing in the corner by her too).
‘France Télécom, Official Partner of Euro Disney, presents, in the Euro Disneyland park, the attraction "It's a Small World" which takes you on a journey around the planet, followed by "The World Chorus", the wonderful world of telecommunications.
Discover, by visiting this pavilion, how France Telecom makes the world closer and how, thanks to its products and services, you can be present everywhere, instantly.’
(Looks like there were 2,000,000 copies worldwide, which is why they aren’t especially rare.)
There were a few other Small World themed telecartes too.
Both simply say: ‘France Telecom presents the attraction "It's a Small World" and its pavilion "The World Chorus" in the Euro Disneyland park.’
Other interesting things that aren’t necessarily merchandise.

My realm of expertise and curiosity alike, here is the section on the conductor doll of World Chorus!
He was about as tall as an average adult human’s head, as shown by this image.
This is in contrast to a regular small world doll, which comes up to around a torso, as shown here.
We can also deduce his hair isn’t the regular yarn, unlike these small world dolls, and his face is a different sculpt. No image of him has a smile, he seems to be a little serious fella!
In terms of his overall design, he seemed to be pale, and had black hair, a black jacket, a white shirt, a red or black bow tie, a red sash, and black trousers and shoes.
Other depictions of the conductor give him brown hair, a white bowtie, either a closed or open black jacket. He also sometimes gets a grey sash, as shown in the choir image.
Concert poster gave him brown hair, black jacket with tailcoat, black trousers, white shirt and bow.
Open tuxedo, brown hair, white bow, white shirt
Brown hair, white open tuxedo, white bow
Fuzzy concert poster with brown hair, black and closed tuxedo, and white shirt
This depiction has brown hair, open tuxedo, grey sash (shown when he jumps in the animation) and white gloves.
This depiction has a black tuxedo, red bow, brown hair, red waistcoat, and white shirt
Debatably a depiction considering it’s just a guess, the last figure on the right looks similar to the conductor, especially with his inconsistent design.
Some image editing on ibispaintX to try and find his mouth shape, concluding with a serious but still friendly-looking sculpt.
A video of him in action

Here are some of the concept arts that were sold on Heritage Auctions and shown on Instagram, back when the account Barry Johnson Esq. existed, and also a video of them in action by someone who now owns them.
The characters depicted are Abigail and Adrian, and also the small conductor on their television!
And here’s some concept art of the big choir scene!
Small World Small Talk was an interactive feature added to World Chorus in 2001-2006
According to some source code that I translated from French (it may not be perfect but it was incredibly hard to find and translate, I can’t even remember the website now):
'Small World Small Talk
The attraction born from a partnership between Disney and France Telecom
The Small World Small Talk attraction is the result of a collaboration between Disney's artistic teams and several research entities of France Telecom, including the Creative Studio, the Small World Small Talk attraction was inaugurated on 2 April 2004, in the France Telecom post show of the It's a Small World attraction at Disneyland Paris park.
A partnership to boost the It's a Small World attraction
On 18 December 2001, Disney and France Telecom signed a partnership agreement giving France Telecom sponsorship rights for the It's a Small World attraction.
Work was in progress between the project team to rebrand France Telecom's image in the post show.
Its renovation and improvement had to take into account both the upheavals of France Telecom's evolution and communications since its conception 10 years ago, and the potential evolutions in the years to come so that it would not quickly become obsolete.
At stake: the way in which the Group and the applications of telecommunications are presented to the millions of visitors to the Park. This is a tough challenge for a sector that is constantly changing!
The first phase consisted of updating the obsolete references presented to the public, to repaint the post show in accordance with the Group's charter and the evolution of public preferences. It soon became clear that it was important to show visitors an innovative image of the Group.
The Creative Studio teams worked with Disney Imagineering to define what would become a new small attraction in the park, evoking the world of telecommunications in the making.
After an analysis of the innovations being developed in France Telecom's laboratories and their potential integration into attraction scenarios conceived by the Disney Imagineering teams, the project team chose Small World Small Talk
This animation allows both young and old visitors to the park to interact in an interactive kiosk by means of avatars. It presents an advanced communication situation in a transparent, simple and fun way.
But a Chat with 3D Disney characters that speak and animate with your own voice, that's the new attraction!
The innovation lies in the integration of facial and body animations in real time within the attraction: that give rhythm to the dialogue and characterise each character, the use of a voice recognition system that extracts the phonemes in real time from the speech signal (visitors' voices) to animate the face and in particular to move the lips (labialisation), a multimodal interface in four languages (English, French, German, Spanish) with user assistance via voice-overs explaining the game, double animated characters by comedians who take you into their into their little world.
The application is presented on two stations, connected within the kiosk with touch screens, which allow the two visitors to interact in real time through an avatar.
The terminal will be in operation until 2006 in the park: to test the technologies proposed by the application in a real context of use, in particular the clone and avatar
The objective for France Telecom RD is twofold: to test the technologies proposed by the application in a real context of use, in particular the clone and avatar technologies for an initial deployment in a general public environment to test new uses in a real-life context in order to prepare the future services proposed by the France Telecom Group.'
The terminals seemed to have a few little phones, having the appearance of a phone box, and seemed to put you in the role of one of the animated characters, or World Chorus kids.
There seemed to be 2 terminals, and they utilised a microphone and animation system, like a lip-sync!
Before World Chorus closed, there was a proposed update that seemed to be along these lines, according to a YouTube comment which I also translated from French.« I worked at the time in the innovation laboratory of France Telecom on what was to be the V2 of the post show, which has become a bit dusty due to the use cases shown (fax, fixed telephone, etc.). I had worked with Disney Imagineers on a principle of magic mirrors that allowed people to talk to each other from a distance in the room, as if the "magic of telecoms" erased distances, by transforming themselves into a doll from It's a Small World! Unfortunately, the prohibitive cost of the renovation and development required (Disney's teams don't do any favours and it's VERY expensive) got the better of this project, and this post-show was left untouched until the end of sponsorship in 2009. In the meantime, Orange had taken over by sponsoring the attraction at the entrance of the Walt Disney Studio park. An attraction that has also disappeared… »

The theming of World Chorus existed not only within the spiral of buildings itself, but outside the attraction too!
Entrance!
Gotta love the blairesque font! ^^
The entrance changed a little over the years. At one point it had banners matching the cloud banners over the ride’s queue line.
Blurry but it appears there is an African boy, French girl, American boy, Indian girl, Russian boy or Beefeater, and the conductor!
Now there are new banners to match the banners in the ride’s queue, and a redone version of the previous banner. Could you call this the entrance to the exit? XD
End of the pavilion
There were 2 exits to the pavilion, a direct one if you wanted to skip the fun walkthrough (why would you??) and an indirect one (that was a little higher up once you followed the spiral) that led to a cute banner. Both had the same cloud walls that were in the entire attraction, and the same double doors.
The end of the pavilion had this banner, which had the slogan of France Telecom, and depicted a Dutch girl, African boy, Peruvian girl, the conductor, Thai girl, American cowboy, and Belgian girl.
The theming of World Chorus existed not only within the spiral of buildings itself, but outside the attraction too! Entrance! Gotta love the
These are images of the buildings inside World Chorus. The walls of the attraction were decorated in yellow, purple, pink and orange, and had handrails to guide people and also avoid them getting too close to the buildings and characters inside, likely to keep illusions and ensure there was no damage. The room was framed to hide the lighting through the use of several orange clouds, which also gave the appearance of a spiral, and the entire room gave the idea of enlarging, as the animation became progressively more and more advanced as the buildings increased in scale and size.
Tumblr won't let me upload all of them, so see more here!!
Overview These are images of the buildings inside World Chorus. The walls of the attraction were decorated in yellow, purple, pink and orang
Inside World Chorus's windows, there were 15 different scenes, though there may be more according to the numerics from the Technology for Storytelling YouTube Video (In which there were 16 windows on the title card, and the disc was specifically stated to be Disc 1, indicating there may be more discs and thus more loops) and the Disney wiki states that all the children in the videos have names. Some of their images have been lost to time, for example the Brazilian girl called Daphne. But the rest are still able to be found on various videos and such.
The Italian pilot was called Leonardo, he had a yellow aeroplane and sent a message to a boy called Hans, who was German and danced in excitement
The Egyptian boy lived in the Sphinx and is called Moses, and he talked to three different friends through what was basically a zoom call. He sent music through fax to them and they all sang.
The Russian girl who lived in St Basil’s was called Alexandra and she had a goldfish called Bubbles. Then she got a phone call from an Italian gondolier named Alberto and the two sang together.
The English girl was called Victoria and she lived in Big Ben. She checked her wristwatch while signing and called Austria, revealing a little cat being fed and her excitedly watching.
There were two English kids called Abigail and Adrian, who I believe lived in a Scottish castle. They watched TV together, watching Treasure Island and 20,000 leagues under the sea, until Abigail pulled out a little grey card and handed it to Adrian, who put it in the TV. This caused a concert at the Eiffel Tower to be shown, with a little conductor shown and the kids singing along.
There was a Spanish kid called Miguel who lived in two different places: What looks like an Incan Temple, and the Torre de Belem. He played guitar but broke a string, so he called a French girl named Charlotte on the phone and the two sang together.
An Asian boy called Makoto sent an email with music notes before he fell asleep. Then, his Venezuelan friend Diego receives his message and sings the song Makoto sent him.
An American cowboy named Lucky calls a Brazillian dance girl called Daphne, whose footage is mostly lost sadly. We can see that she’s dark skinned, has earrings and wears purple and orange.
The Italian boy called Lorenzo, who I think looks like a clown, is performing, before he calls a Swedish girl on a bike with her dog Spike called Olivia. The two sing together before Lorenzo goes back to dancing.
An African boy called Hahn and some other children from various countries sing together with his pet parrot.
A Belgian boy named Arthur seems to be decorating a concert poster with an Egyptian boy called Pascal, getting interrupted by Pascal’s cat as they laugh.
A Dutch girl named Julia and her dog, Spot, point out a concert poster and she prints an orange card, possibly a ticket, with the conductor on her computer screen briefly.
At the concert, a group of children are shown singing the song in blue and yellow uniforms. They are accompanied over a video call by the conductor and three violinists, who play remotely. The choir kids are called Helen, Christopher, Priscilla, Mark and Brittany.
Finally, a German boy named Conrad plays piano with his friend Ken, with bluebirds surrounding his screen as the two play.
Three extremely blurry children sit and a screen appears, seeming to depict another child as one of them says ‘ciao’. This animation was completely missing from all but one video, which has been completely deleted. Though I couldn’t salvage the entire video including audio, I have 2 ways of viewing it. I screen recorded the original video of the trio, and then included the rest of the video in the background of a YT video with my voiceover over it. The rest of the footage included video we had seen previously, so it isn’t a loss audio-wise.
World Chorus was a pavilion sponsored by France Telecom during the opening of Disneyland Paris, and was open up until 2010, when it was replaced by Princess Pavillion in 2011. It went through two phases in terms of colours, as it began in a white and pale blue colour scheme, but after a repaint, appeared far more vibrant and beautiful!
A photo of the building being constructed.
The building was accessible after finishing the main ride, in which you would exit and then head into the pavilion. It was housed in a building known colloquially as the octagon or snail by cast members, and each morning they would walk through to ensure all the buildings and their animations were working perfectly.
The building housed many styles of animation.
Static silhouettes
2D animated loops
Animatronic animation
CGI
The static silhouettes appeared on the walls through buildings and LED lights, alongside fibre-optic shooting stars that would appear to light them up. The 2D animations were projected through Pepper’s ghost into a miniature 3D environment. The animation was a singular doll about the size of a human head, who was a small conductor doll. The CGI was inside phone booths and mimicked the lip movements of talking guests, allowing them to be represented by an it’s a small world doll, a feature added in 2004.
The animations were produced by Walt Disney Animation France and directed by Chris Bailey. Mr Bailey stated in an interview with Mickey Mouse Park that “Modern technology makes communication across the world as simple as calling next door”, and that the project was well-defined by the time he was brought on. Barry Johnson Esq was brought onboard, as was Olivier Panhuys, and the end result was a gorgeous and unique representation of human connection transgressing all borders thanks to the power of human communication and technology. This message is even more pertinent nowadays, and continues to live on as a hope for peace in an age where we are more connected than ever.
The animatronic in question was a small conductor doll with very limited movement, being merely his arms moving up and down to mimic conducting. The podium he was standing on also spun for the majority of the time he was around, and I estimate he was about as tall as an average adult’s head, and has a different face to the rest of the small world dolls, one that is not smiling, oddly enough!
World Chorus closed in 2010, to make way for the Princess Pavilion, and what has become of the buildings, animations and animatronics inside is unknown. I hope that this blog may help me find answers, so if anyone has anything, please leave a comment or DM me on Instagram, any and all information is greatly appreciated!
