i think one understated aspect of how starfield sucks is that it completely fails at one of the core bethesda fantasies, which is to stumble across an interesting abandoned place and explore it. the setting is fairly young in terms of whats been built by humans and is culturally monolithic in being nasa-y so youre just coming across the same moon bases and research facilities with the same dull lego architecture a billion times. and for some reason they decided to make a "grounded" space game instead of pulpy sci-fi so youre never gonna run across any crazy new alien society or anything it's just unmemorable non-sapient creatures and little else. turns out realistic space exploration is really boring even if you sprinkle some space animals into it so you have something to shoot

SEVERANCE 2.10 "Cold Harbor", dir. Ben Stiller IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE (1946), dir. Frank Capra
Stiller: “It’s a Wonderful Life” — it’s one of my favorite movies. There’s that moment of that phone call where Donna Reed and Jimmy Stewart are together, and they’re listening to her ex-boyfriend, they’re together, side by side, and you could just feel the energy between them. For some reason, that image was in my head when I was thinking about the two of them as they’re finishing the file; where they’re focused on the screen and they don’t know who’s watching them or what, so they can’t really embrace. But I felt like that closeness, that energy, was something that made sense in that moment. Lower: They’re putting their faces close to the phone, but they’re really just trying to listen to each other breathe. This is their [Helly R. and Mark S.] last moment to listen to each other closely.
'Tis the season!
Do you know how long it takes a working man to save $5,000? Just remember this, Mr. Potter, that this rabble you're talking about… they do most of the working and paying and living and dying in this community. Well, is it too much to have them work and pay and live and die in a couple of decent rooms and a bath? Anyway, my father didn't think so. People were human beings to him. But to you, a warped, frustrated old man, they're cattle. Well, in my book, my father died a much richer man than you'll ever be!
