I understand the concept behind the statement but I feel like blindboxes are not super comparable to gambling apps. I guess unless you're sinking loads of money into finding a specific thing but i don't know why you'd buy a blind box if you weren't okay with getting any of the items possibly contained within. And then you at least have a Thing instead of an app (possibly) with your banking info

A slightly later Kodak Six-16 Art Deco camera in brown, this model was made between 1932 and 1936. It is a marvel of design and engineering for its era, with a much nicer lens and shutter than the earlier cameras. The textured leather has faded over time; when it was new it was a richer, warmer color that was somewhat closer to the warm brown of the enameled metal parts. Some vestige of the original color is preserved under the flap of the carrying case. I do wish the baseplate/door had the lovely designs of the earlier Art Deco series.

another heavy handed symbolism moment: my mom has a potted sunflower in the kitchen. because it is a sunflower, it keeps turning towards the light from the window. my mother keeps rotating it so it faces inward because she wants "to see its beautiful petals and have it really brighten up the space!" . the sunflower is visibly wilting .
