I will! I know I haven't posted much lately, but I do have some new posts coming soon! I have table sets ups to show, and much much more! And with the wedding in only 9 days!! Ahh so close! And of course I will continue to post after the wedding to show the complete and final product!!!
How long did it take you to plan? I'm only asking because me and my hubby want a WoW wedding someday
I've been actively planning for about 6 months, and I'm still working on it! :-) we have about 6 and a half weeks til the wedding and I'm still finding small details to add or how to "tweek" this decor item or that one. I have tons to still post and more indepth posts about each table or each decor placement but I want to have some more pictures ready before I post :-)
FOR THE CAKE!
Cake ideas and cake topper ideas have been something that we thought about almost instantly. We totally wanted a castle cake, one that was similar to Stormwind Keep. So we are going to make our own cake, and pray it comes out close enough to the real thing. :)
As for our cake toppers, I know there are a ton of people who have made copies of their toons. In fact, there are even companies that make replicas of your toons for you. Well we had a person make ours out of polymer clay and I must say they turned out awesome!!
what about necklaces for the ladies?
Hmm this is definitely a HUGE possibility! Now to go find them! Lol! Thanks for the suggestion!! :-)
Noble Men
I didn't know how to incorporate World of Warcraft in our wedding attire. Of course, i could have made the men wear suits of armor, but I didn't want to make it a cos-play wedding so I was looking for something suttle enough to make it known but not scream it out loud.
So to solve my problems, I purchased alliance lion pins for the men to wear on their tuxes! With black tuxes, horizon blue vest, white shirts, and alliance lion pins.
Still not sure what to do about the girls yet though... Hmmmm....

All eyes on the centerpieces
10 tables, 10 lands, all different from the next. My original centerpieces just weren't going to cut it. I mean could you imagine, blue white and yellow flowers sitting on a table labeled Orgrimmar? Its almost laughable! LOL
While searching for all the right ways to make these table look fabulous, I went with simple flowers in vases centerpieces, with candles and floral beads with lights in the vases to make them glow. :)
However, I didn't want all the tables to match considering all the lands across Azeroth are so different. I simply wanted them to match their lands, well somewhat at least.
So, every single table has different colored flowers on them. Some flowers are repeating, like i have some roses and hydrangeas on a few tables, BUT all of the colors pretty well go with the area in which they are trying to depict.
I'm going to push the envelope a little further as well and instead of just rinky-dinky white table cloths and napkins, I am going to have white table cloths with colored satin table squares in colors reflecting the different cities and flowers. I am even thinking of off setting the napkins in another color that matches well also. :)

If you have any suggestions of how to add anything to our tables to keep more with the theme, I would greatly appreciate any ideas you all have!
Some of the things I was thinking of adding to some of the tables are like: Darnassas-wood slices to elevate the vase/candles IronForge-Nuts/bolts/metal plates SilvermoonCity-Some beta fish to float in some jars to symbolize the mana worms flying about the starting area Orgrimmar-Sand in the candles Dalran-Some gems and tulle(for the whimsical effect) --So as you can see I don't have many ideas yet, and any/all ideas from you all are more than welcome, even if you have something to add to the tables from what I already have would be perfect!

Table-lands?! WHAT?
I spent a lot of time thinking about how to number the tables. I thought about just plain ole numbers, I thought about stats, classes, races, all kinds of different ideas from WoW to keep with our theme.
Then it hit me, why not name the tables after major cities from the game! Although our main color scheme is Blue and Gold, Stormwind, I thought why not let each table depict a different land from the game.
In my head it makes perfect sense, lets not just represent Stormwind, lets represent the alliance game!
Discouragement set in after that. Scott hates the Horde, but there just weren't enough big Alliance cities to make it worth while to make all the tables Alliance city tables. So I gave way and threw the idea at Scott to have the 4 major cities from each faction plus Dalaran and Shattrath to make up our 10 tables. He immediately shot this idea down to the ground. **He hates the horde that much btw, me on the other LOVES the horde**
So, we went through all the other ideas for Alliance cities or Alliance friendly areas, Gilneas, Gnomergan, Booty Bay, etc. but none of them just seemed right.
For a few weeks I kept pushing for my Horde cities, and then the magical moment came when Scott finally agreed!!
Our tables are now named: Stormwind, Exodar, Darnassas, Iron Forge, Orgrimmar, Undercity, Thunder Bluff, Silvermoon City, Dalran, and Shattrath!
One would assume the delima with the tables was now over right? WRONG! Now our table centerpieces didn't match the "theme" of each table... *face palm*
Mail Time!
So for our wedding present/card table i decided to/attempted to recreate the alliance/stormwind mailbox to set out for all the wedding cards. Please excuse my terrible craftsman ship. I am by no means a painter, BUT considering my lack of artistic skills, I think it looks pretty darn good! :)

I've scoured the Internet for favor ideas. I've seen it all. Everything from bottle openers to candy to stickers! Trying to keep with the WoW theme I didn't think any of these things were going to work. So I kept looking and the perfect idea came to me. Why not give little "royal satchels" filled with little items that you would typically find in a toons backpack!! Keeping with the colors of yellow and blue, I have decided to go with little royal blue drawstring bags, and I'm going to fill them with a hearthstone, a health potion, "honey"mint tea, "chocolate" gold coins, and a "thank you" enchant scroll. I mean how awesome is that idea?! Right! For the health potion we have purchased mini corked bottles and I'm going to fill them with red dyed honey, which can be put in the mint tea (which will be in bags) to make the honeymint tea we all know and have used at some point! Pictures will be coming soon if some of the materials we have so far! If any of you have any extra ideas or input please feel free to let me know! :-) happy gaming everyone!
Bridal Bazaar!
On a much lighter and brighter note, last Sunday, July 28th 2013, I went to the bridal bazaar down in San Diego. It was a BLAST! So much to see, so many booths and ideas. I was on total bridal overload.
Now, of course trying to plan the ultimate WoW wedding and a bridal bazaar don't exactly mix well together, BUT it was neat to see all the different ideas for catering, dj's, table decor, flowers, etc. I got a few really good ideas for how to set up the centerpieces to keep them a little old world feeling for Stormwind, while still keeping with modern flowers. I'm excited to play around with all the different ideas.
Watching the bridal fashion show also proved to be amazing!! I had previously bought my dress. It was a dress that worked and I liked it but it wasn't truly the dress I wanted. So after watching the fashion show, my soon to be MIL offered to fins me a dress that I feel fits better overall! So I'm back on the hunt and I think I have found one. Its simple yet has a lot of little detail. I think its a dress that will fit with the old world, traditional, yet whimsical style of WoW and at the same time will make me look and feel like a princess!

Trials...
Well, this post actually has nothing to do with WoW specifically.
My maid of honor, and her husband who was my photographer, have opted to bow out of being part of out wedding... This is really put a dent in my planning and my wallet.
My MoH and her husband wanted to do our photography for free as a wedding gift to us. We were delighted to have them offer such a wonderful gift considering the prices of photographers these days. However, a week ago i received a message, on FB, exclaiming that they feel they are too busy in their lives to fulfill the duties in which they were needed... Kinda hurtful, but I definitely understand that if they feel they don't have the time or the want or whatever to be part of our special day, I am glad they told us sooner rather than later.
However, we are down to just at 5 months until the wedding and I am down a MoH and a photographer, as well as still not being sure if one of my bridesmaids can make it because she lives 3000 miles.
This is actually so cute! I hope it all goes amazing for you : D

Picking and "Saving" a Date
When it came time to decide on save the dates, I wasn't sure where I wanted to go with them. I thought perhaps I could use a picture of our toons, or maybe just a picture of us in real life considering not everyone would get the avatar reference. I even went as far as to play with the idea of a simple calendar save-the-date idea from Pinterest.
My first attempt at a save-the-date didn't turn out the way I wanted. I tried the simple calendar idea. It was a royal blue background, with a yellow calendar. All the had was Save-the-Date written on it and a place to circle the month and the day to save and had 2014 written at the bottom. It also had a spot in the middle made for either a picture or a place for tiny stickers to give your recipients to mark their calendars with. After I made them ALL, all 75 of them, I reconsidered. They just didn't look they way I wanted them too. Nothing about them said WoW. Other than the colors of the alliance, but who was going to make that connection? We did put a picture, and it had us holding the alliance banner, but because of the cropping of the picture you can only see the top of the banner. So it was a NO GO!
For a few days after I decided to scrap the calendar idea, I scoured the internet searching for ideas. WoW ideas. Someone, somewhere had to have tried this before. The closest I got was a picture of an engagement picture. Two people dressed as their avatars holding an achievement sign, the title saying, Get Engaged. That Was It! I got my idea, take the achievement banner and turn it into a save the date. Now how was I going to find out how to do that...
There was a website that would allow you to make your own WoW achievement but trying to get the lettering aligned perfectly was proving to be a problem. So my process included making an achievement titled "GET ENGAGED" and then type in my own descprition using a different software.
And with that a masterpiece was created!! Behold the Save-The-Dates!
Keep in mind the yellow is just a background I used for the picture, it is NOT part of the save-the-date.
