“And that’s why you just barged on in?” the Doctor asked, “That’s a bit rude, isn’t it?”
“Well, shovin’ your phone box in everyone’s faces is rather rude, how about that?” She retorts quickly, eyebrows furrowed in defense.
The Lover watched her, enjoying the sounds of her giggling. It was so sweet, so innocent. At her suggested name, he reached up with his free hand to touch the column of the console. “What do you think girl, do you like the name? Why not try it out, eh?” The TARDIS maid a whirring noise and vibrated softly. He looked down at Stella and grinned. “I think she likes it. Here, reach out to her.” He lifted their joined hands and pressed hers to the column next to his.
“See? I have a knack for names, I guess.” She had just began to brag when she felt his hand touching hers, pulling her forward as she feels the cool glass under her palm with an amazed expression. Despite the wonder that filled her eyes, she had to pull back after a few moments. “This is, a lot. Sorry.” Stella excuses shyly, despite not releasing his hand.

“Well, didn’t work too well for you this time, huh? Super noticed the box.” She teases, leaning on one of the railings with her right hip. “Well, saw a police box. Hadn’t seen a police box in decades, and wanted to see if the damn thing would even function.” Stella explains with a shrug of her shoulders.

Stella Luna had predicted that her comment would either cause him to be angry at her to the extreme, or that’d it make him at least a little happy - sure he’d find some amusement in her sass like usual. Well, when she didn’t hear him clear his throat or start lecturing her on her tone, she assumed it went her way. “Oh, is that a threat?” She said with an almost sing-song tone, glancing at him as she fixes the last bits of a much more proper gown.
Sass was acceptable out of public earshot, amongst family and friends it was a different matter where it was not necessarily King George they were in the company of, thought that too was very mood dependant on the temperamental man. He glanced to her when she gave that sing-song tone. “If -it was, would it encourage you -to behave?” Though he was smiling and clearly meant it as a joke.
She lets out a cheery snort, using one hand to bring her long brown hair over her left shoulder so it can hang loosely in front of her, snickering. “You know me better than that, I’d hope!” Stella replied with closed, smiling eyes. “It would easily encourage the exact opposite, naturally.” The woman had almost expected being around Bertie to maybe make her even slightly less of a ‘rules were made to be broken’ type gal, but it hadn’t had an impact quite yet.

Stella currently truly believed that Lover was the most interesting person she’s ever met. She hadn’t known him for long, but if something happened to him, she’d fight everyone in a ten mile radius and then herself. She thought he was funny and most definitely more than interesting, he seemed to be made of otherworldly knowledge and it almost made her speechless a number of times. “Uh, yeah! Lover, you can’t just call her a type 67.” Stella Luna thought this seemed decently obvious. She had named all of her things from toys to paper boats when she was little, not naming a toy - less a spaceship - was weird to her. Well, so was everything, but this stood out.
The Lover ran his fingers through his hair and chuckled sheepishly. “You humans have such odd thoughts on attachment.” He quickly smiled and squeezed her hand. “But don’t get me wrong, I think it’s adorable. Having affection for inanimate things nearly as strongly as living beings.” He lifted her hand to his lips and kissed it softly. “So tell me Ms. Luna, what should I name her? I’ve never really thought of it.” His TARDIS had always been just that, his TARDIS. Human tradition often dictated vehicles get names, but he never followed the idea.
“Yeah, can’t argue that one. I’ve named all my favorite sweaters since I was five.” She giggles, smiling at their hands with a happy aura about her. “You’re too sweet to us. We even made a whole movie series about living inanimate objects, guess it isn’t galaxy..Versal.” She had a train of thought, but it slightly went off rails as her hand was kissed, shyly looking back at the console with a small bite of her bottom lip and a smile, looking the large cylinder in the middle up and down. Instantly, her favorite little creature popped into her head, and she raises an eyebrow. “Navi? Maybe?”

“Right. Dreadful person to ask.” She replies from behind the wall before squinting and leaning to poke her head around the doorframe with a squinted expression. Stella knew he was resisting father-mode, but wasn’t sure how long he’d last before fully falling into it. “No. You mean you would be uncomfortable with the amount of whispering and pointing, Bertie.”
She had earned a little smile from him at her reply, amused but not wanting to show her that she had managed to make him smile, he assumed he was safe from her gaze when she went to look for appropriate attire, his own eyes busy with adjusting his cufflink and missing that squinting peer from around the frame. “–Having been on the –receiving end of such -ridicule in the –past, yes I would be uncomfortable. Best not -to give excuse to make a —–king uncomfortable, Stella, don’t you think?”

She clicked her tongue, slightly kicking back and forth with her heeled feet. “Okay, you genuinely have me there. They just feel so..” Stella squeezes her shoulders up and towards her, making a face, trying to think of the right word to use as she lightly spins in a circle. “Constricting! How do people even sit comfortably in those things…” She lightly complained, but did move into the other room to look at a selection of dresses again - more for him than herself.
He just regarded her when she expressed her dislike for the dresses in a gesture, brow raised and focusing his will power in not putting his hands on his hips and slipping into ‘father’ mode. She was not his daughter, no matter how much she reminded him of his youngest. “Having never -worn one, I wouldn’t be the one –to ask how to sit in one.” He commented but was pleased when she seemed to go back to look for one. “You –would be more un—uncomfortable with the whispering and the –pointing should you attend in what you’re –currently wearing.”

Stella scolded Dandelion quickly for being so rude as to sqwuak, of all things, at their guest. “I swear, he’s usually much more polite.” She excuses the bird with a cutesy grumpy expression. “The cold must be getting to him, know it’s getting to me. Should I go get us something hot? Tea?” She asks, letting the now grumpy and sulky parrot climb onto her shoulder.

She was never told she had the best sense of humor in the world, to be fair. At his grin, she gave a smile, which turned very confident as she stuck her nose slightly in the air. “It’s very correct! And very cute.” She only slightly mumbled that last part in, letting him figure out the rest as her eyes widen in the direction of the console. “Uh! Yes, definitely!” Stella Luna exclaimed, face having an almost childish glee. “Does she have a name?”
He caught her mumbled words and grinned, trying very hard not to preen like a damned peacock at every compliment. The Lover was used to compliments, but every one from her came from true wonder, not just the desire to get in his pants, and he oddly appreciated that fact. He led her to the tall column, All the buttons and levers were directly on the column, some jutting out. Her question caught him off guard and he cocked his head. “She is a TARDIS. A type 67 to be precise. She doesn’t have a name? Should she?”

The Doctor walked into the TARDIS console room and was a bit surprised when he saw a woman there, staring at him. “Who are you and how did you get on my TARDIS?” he asked, very concerned. He wasn’t sure why nobody ever seemed to just knock.
Stella had already been more than surprised and taken aback by the machine around her, and the man coming into view made her jump a good few inches into the air in sheer shock. “It has police- Police on the top!” She tries to explain herself without getting too out of breath with excitement. “And you are most definitely not police, and the inside of this thing is huge! What is up with that?!” Her ability to remain calm snaps, causing her to burst into excited questions.
“I asked first,” the Doctor pointed out, “Who are you, and why did you enter? Do you usually just go around entering any random box you see? That seems like a good way to make people upset.” He shrugged, “I’m the Doctor by the way, and this is the TARDIS.”
“Stella. Stella Luna, at your service.” She introduces herself quickly before shrugging. “Yeah, I tend to, mostly prefer the blue ones. It usually lands me in either bad spots or real good spots. This, seems like a very, very good spot! Look at all those levers...” She leaned over the console with interest before her blue eyes look back over at him. “What are you a Doctor of, exactly? Police-ing?”
