En bref: Tamer Mamdouh - The Man that Saved the Tournament Media!!!
Oh bless him.... I've told you already about that bright young man, that not only handles transport - one of the most difficult roles there is on a major tournament, with picking up/dropping people at the airport, and organising Shuttles from and to the venue/hotel/plus if affinities.... He added to that duty taking care of SquashSite, plus tourist guide, and we onl had to ask, the answer would be yes. It allowed Karim and Engy Darwish to concentrate on the real troubles!!! He managed with his team to get Mr and Mrs David Campion's luggage, Sarah Kippax got her bag back just in time after it got lost at the airport. But as important (More?), he got the World's Trophey back! These achievements are NOTHING compared to facing the whole of the Ministries of Egypt to get SquashTV kit back!!! "It was not a day I had, it was a whole year!!!!" he joked upon his arrival at the hotel. "First, I had one hour in a taxi to get to the Minister of Youth, Sports and Tourism. I stayed there for 2 hours. I eventually managed to get the paper that would release the Cameras kept in customs. But I then had to go to the Ministry of Finance, as I needed a letter from them too. "Unfortunately, the first paper didn't say exactly what it should have said, so I couldn't get the second one. After many, many many discussions, the Finances accepted the Fax for the new letter, as they initially wanted me to go back there. "That took 3 hours. "Then I went to the Airport, peak traffic time, that was about 2h. At the aiport, they asked for a proof that I was who I was, as in sent by Wadi Degla. After many many many discusssion, they accepted to be sent a fax. Trouble of that was that the fax office at the airport was now closed.... After a few difficult minutes, another fax was found. I still will have to go back there on Saturday morning with ALL the originals - not the fax only - to allow the kit to leave the country... "But that's not all. After all that, when I finally arrived at the hotel, it was now 11pm - I left at 11am - the security guards told me I couldn't get the two boxes in the hotel, that they would have to keep it outside, in a secure room.
"Well, I said, with the trouble I had getting those two boxes, I'm going to sleep ON THEM. So, if you don't let me through, I'm just going to another hotel, cause THOSE BOXES AREN'T LEAVING MY SIGHT!!!!!" And that my friend, is how you do things in Egypt....
Press Alerts : lots about the Wadi Degla World Champs in the World's Press ...

When "Face" Charity Kids have a Ball in Wadi Degla It's soooo nice to see the smile of kids when they discover squash for the first time - well, at that level anyway - and the whoooooo, and ahhhhhhhh that come when they see the players pick up shots that are not pickable!!!!! FACE is a great Charity based in Egypt. Just take 15s of your busy life to have a look. The Kids thank you....
A trip to the Pryamids ... and more
You can't visit Cairo without going to see the Pyramids, so on Wednesday a busload of players and others went on a guided tour of the Giza Pryamids, reports Steve Cubs. You can see for yourself what happened, suffice it to say that the sights were awesome and the camels were enjoyed by everyone, especially the eight riders.
Camel comments of the day were 1) look at the b**** on that, and 2) is your camel bumpy too ??? We'll let you guess who said those ...

On the way back we stopped off to see how papyrus paper was made, and to sample some Egyptian essences and fragrances - the biggest seller there being the very strong "anti-snoring" mint. Again, you guess who bought that ...

En bref: Boating on the Nile with the Players!!!
En brefs: From This... to That.....
Basically, like a few players, David Campion and his wife Sarah Kippax had their luggage lost for a little while. It was bad enough that Sarah had only a training kit with her on the plane, but also the Trophey was lost as well, as Laura Massaro won it last time....! Welcoming David with my favorite opening line "Shave!" I was given the best of answers "I CAN'T!!!! I DON'T HAVE MY KIT!!!!" Thank the Gods of Squash, bags and trophey was recovered, and proudly carried by David and Mohamed El-Shrkawy into the Venue. All is now good, bags recovered.... And David closely shaved...

Hi, My Name is Darwish... Omar Darwish....
... but you can call me Mouri.... You have noooooo idea the work I had to do to get you guys over here. First, I had to support my dad, with all the work he has with the Club Wadi Degla, he is the Mr Big for all Sports you know, and he is the Face as well! If you go on the 6th October Bridge, you'll see him everywhere.
Then, I had to take care of my Mummy. My mummy is the most beautiful woman in the whole world, and I'm not just saying that because she is my mum. I see it in my Dad's eyes everytime he looks at her. So, plenty of people everywhere, even the Mad French Woman that has been chasing me everywhere in the corridors. So, you haven't seen me ok? Still, so nice to have allllll those GORGEOUS girls, just for me. Merci Papa.... Thanks Daddy....
Road Signs you wonder why exist in Cairo....
My Arabic is not that great, but I guess it's means, don't you use horn....
Hahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahha!!!!!
Another one that is funny, again, you need to be here to see the joke...
In love with Egypt....
Laura excited to defend title in Cairo
Just days after adding the World Team title to the individual crown she captured earlier this year in Malaysia, England's Laura Massaro is excited to be in Cairo to defend one of her two world titles ...
"I'm really looking forward to the event in Cairo. Not everyone gets to go into a World Championship to defend their title so I am looking forward to having that experience. "I have some good memories of playing in Egypt and I am excited to head back there. "We had a great week in Niagara last week and it meant so much to finally get a gold medal in the teams event. I hope I can capitalise on my form there and play well this week in Cairo."
Fun with the Kids :
You may be forgiven for thinking that the grownups actually had more fun, but the students from the Darwish Academy certainly enjoyed themselves on court with Nicol David, Low Wee Wern, Camille Serme, Omneya Abdel Kawy, and more ...
Gotcha !!! Delia Arnold "keeps eye on ball" and gets a result ...
Dare we ask "more effort please" ??? It certainly was a great effort from Hania El Hammamy ...
