Hi! 🪱!
I hope everyone has a wonderful day! 🪱!
I miss my leeches for all the normal pet reasons but I also miss being able to use them as a one-hit death blow to end stupid conversations. Whenever I defend the ecological importance of parasites someone will inevitably crawl up and go “well I bet you wouldn’t feel that way if you had them” and oooooo boy let me tell you. It was so fun to hit back with “I DO” and then whip out my phone and show them 30 pictures of my fucking Worms
What were your leeches named?? Please i need to know please please tell me about your leeches oh my god
Wormitha, Burrito, Chungus, Chocolate Chip and Squish Baby. I collectively called them The Squish Squad
if you want butterflies, you need to live with caterpillars.
i am not being metaphorical, i work in a garden center, stop buying plants 'to bring in the bees and butterflies' and then immediately poisoning every caterpillar that dares to consume a single leaf
you will not get butterflies if you kill all the things that turn into butterflies! what are you doing!
getting a lot of responses to this going 'ok but it would be good as a metaphor though' so I will accept a metaphorical interpretation as long as you ALSO (!) promise to be considerate towards larval forms of insects specifically and biodiversity in general, deal?
Earthworms!Any species

Have you seen a typical earthworm (Order: Crassiclitellata)?
I have now
Yes, in photos/videos
Yes, irl
I'm not sure
The first species is a large jumping worm, the second is a chestnut worm.

Flatworms pt.1!
This is lowkrakenuinely one of the best posts on the whole internet. They love milk time! Adorable...
Flatworms pt.1!
This is wonderful, but one thing: They *do* have true brains! Not only that, but in some ways their brains have more in common with ours than most invertebrates:
The planarian is the simplest living animal having a body plan of bilateral symmetry and cephalization. The brain of these free-living flatw
Especially incredible because they don't even *need* brains to live. They just like to have them, as a treat!
Imagine getting trapped in the circus and you're a fucking worm on a string
