top takes people love to drop on any klingon related post:
(on a post analysing the deliberate allegorical aspects of an episode) do you realise klingons are massive hypocrites? they actually act dishonorably all the time. you're really dumb for defending them
fun fact, according to beta canon [plot point from a book written 50 years ago that paints klingon society in an unfavourable light], so when you think about they're actually just [weirdly racialised and reductive comparison]! isn't that hilarious?
if you think about it, klingons are like that because theyre just stuck in [era of western european history], they never advanced past their [era specific to one area of western europe] so that's why they seem so backwards and savage, they just never got a chance to develop into us, the natural conclusion which all life is trying to reach!
(on a post about worf made by tumblr user worflesbian) lol worf is just [a bad father/a hypocrite with no real values or skills/an incel/a weeb]
worf is mean and unlikeable. this is my personal opinion which is fine but im gonna make sure to add it to the post of tumblr user worflesbian anyway
(on a post about ds9 polycules/multishipping) worf is the token straight who's on thin ice, worf gives me homophobic jock vibes, worf is an incel, sisko is the team dad i don't ship him or worf with anyone
hot take - klingons r actually bad at fighting? we beat them all the time so i guess all that warrior skill is just an act and theyre actually massive losers? this is so funny theyre just like those gym bros who act like theyre so hard but cant take a punch, humans are the real badasses of the galaxy. this pattern of the Protagonists Winning cannot be an intentional part of the show since the 1960s this is 100% a novel observation I have just made.
(on any b'elanna shipping post) has anyone made a comment characterising her as sexually aggressive yet? they have? okay well heres another
[post uncritically rehashing the nagging sitcom wife trope with b'elanna and tom as if it were the height of romance]
[post uncritically rehashing the spicy latina/white boy who 'can't handle all that' stereotype with b'elanna and tom as if it were the height of romance]
i never really thought about b'elanna as a sensitive romantic, i guess i just always saw her as [stereotypes]
(on a post about how misogyny affected the writing of jadzia) and ofc while talking about how jadzia's interiority was disregarded in favour of folding her into the stories of other characters we have to remember to bash her relationship with worf as much as possible, as if it were the root cause. in fact if we can go so far as to say it was the symbiote that made her love him bc something something curzon's klingon obsession and just really lean into this idea that had the "real" jadzia not been erased by joining she would never have chosen worf, that'd be a really productive addition to the conversation about writers room misogyny. the interracial relationship is the real enemy
hot take: worf is the most bigoted racist character in star trek bc he refused to give blood to save the life of a romulan (please ignore the fact that the romulan refused the donation because he didn't want to pollute his body with 'klingon filth', worf is definitely the bad guy here bc the allegorical politics of xenophobia are more relevant than the imagery of a white man in alien makeup refusing blood from a black man in alien makeup)
(if you think i have been uncharitable with any of these im not being sarcastic i would love for you to let me know, i am always interested to hear people's explanations of why they see aspects of trek in a certain way. however please do not do more sci fi racism on this or any of my posts, or anyones posts, oh my god can we please think critically)
