having a quiet life is so.. underrated. i don’t mean it in the sense that people who’re open and loud and busy aren’t important, but when our culture has significantly put so much emphasis on the definition of success as fame, extraordinary accomplishments, greatness and importance and excessive wealth, i think there is so much power to be found in our own anonymity. in the silence of life. in not being constantly perceived, analyzed and performing for the world. in being able to take a walk, smile at strangers and just notice the world without all that noise. taking the biggest pleasure out of the smallest joys, like a cup of coffee or blowing out birthday candles. knowing that our lives don’t have to be a grand spectacle for others in order to have worth and cause a good impact.
”The part of life we really live is small.’ For all the rest of existence is not life, but merely time.” — Lucius Annaeus Seneca
The moment we stop believing that God loves us, like really loves us – that he forgives us, chases us, wants us – in that moment we slowly turn our back at him. If you turn your back to the light, you’ll be left with darkness. The longer you look at the darkness, the more the hope inside of you fades. You start to believe the lies it whispers. You can try to remember what you’ve learned in the light, and at this moment, this dark storm will reveal which beliefs inside your heart cannot be shattered. But your best bet to get out of this darkness where you stuck is to rely on one truth that will be valid for eternity: Jesus can save you. Come back to the cross. His sacrifice made a way through the impossible back to God. And every time you are lost, turn back to the cross, because there is the way! There is the life! There is the truth. There is the light. Come back. The father waits with open arms.
No one can ever hold you back except yourself.
I personally find it horrifying how casual sex is not only normalized now, it's expected of you
Also the notion that being sexually inexperienced or a virgin past a certain age is "embarrassing" is incredibly stupid and I don't even think I need to elaborate
“Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes, but when you look back, everything is different.”
— C.S. Lewis
“The best way to live above all fear of death is to die every morning before you leave your bedroom.”
— Charles Spurgeon
God Wrote a Book x
On your worst day, when your body hurts and your soul is tired from all that is going on, seek God. And seek people and talk to them about how good God is. Let thankfulness fill your heart & soul and watch how it changes your whole mindset and emotions. It will give you new strength. If you are courageous on the day of trouble, you’ll get new strength.
“If you falter in a time of trouble, how small is your strength!”
Proverbs 24:10 NIV
