footsteps are almost silent towards her bedroom, it’s been SO many days - and still nothing. but reinette comes to a halt in her tracks as she enters the lavish suite. a figure, standing by her fireplace. 

for a second, her heart pounds, could it be? but glimpses of blonde hair and a smaller stature dash hopes before they could ever really be appreciated. still, it’s too bizarre of a circumstance to be ignored. 

“you’ll have to forgive me. you see, i wasn’t expecting visitors, this evening. is there something wrong with it? the fireplace, i mean. i told the king it wasn’t to be touched, it’s an ANTIQUE. it’s precious to me.”

IMPOSSIBLE

weeks have passed since the departure of her fireplace man, perhaps even MONTHS. a weak heart and a low threshold for PATIENCE stopped her counting after the first few days. reinette had lost hope that he would ever return for her. such is the life of a man lost in TIME, she supposes. 

but NOW she finds herself faced with another stranger in her bedroom, stood by the fireplace - in clothes that only HE would have worn. perhaps BEFORE, she would have raised hell at a stranger in her bedroom, but she knows a different world now. 

“there are no more MONSTERS, if that is why you are here. there was a man, a BRILLIANT man. he saved us all.”

and she fears she may never see him again.

hey, so s.tan lee passed away. i’m not the biggest fan of comic books but i understand that he was an incredibly talented man who touched a lot of people’s lives. my thoughts are with his family, friends, and the entire m.arvel fandom today.
