okay so, recently I've purchased Bioshock 1 after it went on sale because I loved a playthrough of Bioshock: Infinite so freaking much. I've never played an FPS game before, will Bioshock be too difficult for me? Can you change difficulties in the middle of a game? Do you have any recommendations to what i should do before/while playing it?

Bioshock was my first FPS as well and it wasn’t that hard to figure out what to do! The game runs from easy to some sort of super hard mode. You can totally change the difficultly at literally any time in the game ( i always go on easy tho :^)c )

and honestly the only tip I have is to use your plasmids often. Find the plasmids that work best for you and your fighting style (the whole fight or flight) and use those to your advantage. I use the shotgun and pistol super often just because they make for quick kills so you can continue on with the level, but that’s just me. Also, when you get one, USE YOUR RESEARCH CAMERA!! It’s a pain in the butt to take photos while someone is attacking you, but the rewards you get afterwords make the game super easy B)) Hacking: do it. Hack everything in sight. Hack security bots for some mobile body guards. Hack turrets for pretty much the same thing. Hacking comes with a mini game which I’m not a great big fan of but that’s just me but just hack everything

Hey i just played bioshock infinite 👌 but before infinite, i never played any bioshock before. It was amazing and now i want to play more. A friend said that the burial at sea episodes explain some things from the other bioshocks.. --To be continued

So my question is.. Will the wow-effect be as good if i only play rapture before burial at sea or do i have to play them all? What do i need to play now? c:

Hi!! It’s actually great how you found out about Bioshock because for me it was the same way!! I saw Infinite and was like “oh my gosh i must have more.”Burial At Sea wraps up a lot of loose ends in Bioshock 1 (and to a lesser extent, Bioshock 2) so to me I played it like

but no matter what order you play it in, things will make sense here and there as you start picking up references to previous games. 

The “wow-effect” will happen either way, Bioshock 1 Rapture and Burial At Sea Rapture have two very, very different atmospheres but still very beautiful and one of the best experiences in my video game playing life.Bioshock is one of my favorite series and I’m not the best with putting my words into comprehensible sentences but I hope I answered this correctly!

I’m going to weigh in on this too.

For the best experience, play Bioshock 1 before any of Infinite, but that’s not your situation. If you play the first game before Burial at Sea, it’ll wrap up a lot of loose ends for you.

I personally think Bioshock 2 is worth playing, but it’s a love-it-or-hate-it experience and can be slotted in before or after Infinite and the DLC.

utxpian is amazing and does a great neutral eleanor. I wish she got more attention. She has a hard time because people don't like bioshock 2 or only know good eleanor. I feel like people would love her if they gave her a shot.

Let's give it up for the mod behind sanctasara and jxlene. I am SO glad they're back. The fandom and the RPing community just isn't the same without them and they're amazing OCs and canon portrayals. I literally can't get enough and they're a wonderful partner.

My favorite OC, without a doubt, is thehermiit. There’s so much work that’s been put into developing Ralph, and he’s really come quite a long way. I feel like that specifically hasn’t been appreciated enough, and even looked over sometimes, but I firmly believe he is one of the strongest in the fandom.

Do the admins have rp blogs in the fandom?

We do! That’s partially why we came up with this blog, because there was so many great rp blogs that got very little attention and appreciation.

However we won’t go out and say who we are due to the fact we aren't a promo blog!!

I hope the Bioshock RP community makes a comeback soon. It's a small fandom and the numbers seem to dwindle. I hope that we can all pull together and make our community bright again.

I miss elishacomstock/sonofprophecies. They were such a nice mod with such fantastic art and I hope no one forgets about them. All they did was be a nice, supportive force in the fandom, draw for people without them even asking, and act as a pillar of tolerance as well as being original, creative, fun, and overall just a good person.

Sisterlutece deserves a shout out as well. She's always a kind and personable individual that it really makes me happy to see her on my dash when I'm able to. I hope to be able to do more threads with her in the future and that she knows she is very loved and very welcomed.
