Red-headed Woodpecker

Whoever named this species of woodpecker was probably not the most creative. In addition to wrecking trees in search of insects like other woodpeckers; these pretty, little, jerks will also catch them mid-flight and hunt them on the ground.

I missed my 365Objects project from last year. Time to start a new one! Going to attempt 2 historic events each month as well as something else to pad the time in between each piece!
