Huey smiled, nodding. âYeah, it was nice. Really got me feeling like, I dunno, we sorta ended up in some campy movie? But, like, in a good way. Like, I love those types of movies. Itâs not really like one of those movies, I donât know why I said that. Itâs just⊠yes, this is a good escape,â god he was still all over the place trying to talk to him. He hated that. But Art was right about the perspective. Even though he was still a mess, he felt like a relaxed mess. A mess surrounded by good friends in a good place. He was a mess, but his life wasnât. He nodded again. âThe perspective feels good out here,â he chuckled. Huey waved him off. âNo, man, it was good. I liked hearing the music you like and what everyone else liked too. It was nice. Sorry if I played too many songs from the eighties and nineties.â He smiled. âThanks, but I think Iâve got it. I didnât bring too much.â Which, was a first. He tried to pack a lot lighter than he usually did. He had his backpack and one of his smaller duffles. âIâll also come back out and help unpack more stuff, too. Also, Iâd honestly be fine sleeping on a couch. I got two brothers, Iâm good with sharing space.â
Art laughed, something pure and unrestrained for once, thinking of the road trip scenes in the best movies heâd ever seen, thinking of the few stops theyâd made along the way when the music had faded just right, and Huey was right. It felt like a movie, and not a bad one either. âNah, youâre so right,â he beamed. âLike, coming of age spiritual journey kinds of movies, though, so theyâre totally right on. Right vibe, good mix of unknowns and classics. We nailed it, bud.â The mix had been nice, everyone playing music that somehow made them make a little bit more sense to Art at the very least, even though he wondered if he was getting the deep dark vibe songs or their curated âbest ofâs. Either way, it seemed like it was only indicative of better things to come, and he was feeling great about it. âYour music was awesome, my friend,â he applauded, and nodded towards the trunk. âSeriously, man, I can grab some of your stuff and bring it in, save you the trip, let you get comfy while I finish up and get everything going. This is a family kinda house, so thereâs plenty of room for us. Nothing wrong with having a little space for once.â He winked, beaming brightly. âAnyway, you still have to pick your room, right? Get a look around.â
