Week 9: Moving Forward with Our Campus Clinic System

As we enter Week 9 of our capstone project, we're excited to share our latest updates. Our goal is to create a helpful Campus Clinic Information System for Xavier Academy at Initao, and we're making steady progress.

In Week 8, we simplified our project name to "Campus Clinic Information System for Xavier Academy at Initao." This change makes our mission clear – we aim to build a system that helps the campus clinic run smoothly.

We're grateful for the feedback we've received, especially from Sir Gulfan, which has helped us improve our project's initial chapter. We've also improved our project documentation to make it more reader-friendly.

To make things clearer, we've started working on a flowchart to show how our system will work. This visual tool helps us understand the step-by-step process within our information system.

We've also been using Unified Modeling Language (UML) to create a simple diagram that explains how the system will work for nurses and patients.

Our project documentation continues to grow, showing our dedication to keeping track of our progress and sharing it with others.

We've created a web-based prototype using Canva, which visually demonstrates the main features of our system, like the dashboard, student profiles, inventory management, consultations, registration, analysis tools, and an "about us" section.

Our team, including Hacker Posadas, Hipster Caironisa, and Hustler Bajao, is focused on making our project successful. We're determined to create a useful system for Xavier Academy at Initao, and we're excited about the progress we're making. In Week 8 of our capstone project journey, we maintained the momentum of our progress and pushed forward in our mission to deliver a valuable addition to Xavier Academy. Several noteworthy developments and refinements were made, signaling our commitment to creating a comprehensive Campus Clinic Information Management System for Xavier Academy at Initao.

One significant update in Week 8 was a further refinement of our project title. After careful consideration, we simplified our project name to the "Campus Clinic Information Management System for Xavier Academy at Initao." This change aligns perfectly with our vision to provide an efficient and comprehensive system for the campus clinic.

We continued to receive invaluable feedback, with Sir Gulfan's insights contributing to the enhancement of our project's initial chapter. Our documentation underwent further improvements as we introduced narrative listings to enhance clarity and readability throughout our report.

In this week, our project took significant strides towards becoming a valuable addition to Xavier Academy. We've made several key developments, including a change in our project's title, improvement in our documentation, and the creation of essential visual aids. This week, we decided to simplify our project's title by removing "streamlined." Our project is now officially known as the "Campus Clinic Information Management System for Xavier Academy at Initao." This change reflects our dedication to creating a comprehensive and effective system for the campus clinic. Sir Gulfan provided valuable feedback on our project's first chapter, which we've eagerly incorporated, and we've enriched our documentation by adding narrative listings that enhance the clarity and readability of our report. We recognized the need for a visual representation of our system's processes, and thus, we're in the process of designing a flowchart. This flowchart will serve as a vital reference, allowing us to visualize the logical flow of operations within our information management system. To further enhance our project's structure, we embarked on a study of Unified Modeling Language (UML). In Week 6 of our capstone project, we made significant headway with the "XavierCare Streamlined Clinic Information System" for Xavier Academy. We continued discussions with the clinic staff to understand their needs better, began project planning, and researched industry best practices. Our tech team laid the foundation for the system, and we started documenting our progress for the final report.

We faced some technical challenges related to hardware compatibility, but we're working closely with our client to find solutions. The XavierCare system aims to streamline clinic operations at Xavier Academy, and we're committed to delivering a robust solution. Stay tuned for more updates!

CAPSTONE PROJECT PROGRESS

Week 5: "From Fleet Management to Medical Records: Our Capstone Project Journey"

In our capstone project journey, we initially chose "Fleet Maintenance and Bus Management" for a rural bus company in Mindanao. Unfortunately, the company's manager said no. So, we talked to our Capstone Adviser, Sir Gulfan, for help and to change our project.

We got lucky when a local business, MedPharm, offered us a chance to create a "MedPharm Sales and Inventory System." Our adviser approved the new project.

But here's the tricky part: the MedPharm folks used only tablets, making our web-based system plan difficult. We talked to our adviser again.

Still, we didn't give up. After facing lots of challenges, we found hope with a new client, a nurse at Xavier Clinic in Initao. We got permission from the school director to work with them. XavierCare Streamlined Clinic Information System for Xavier Academy is the Title of our topic

We interviewed our new client to learn what they needed. This was the start of building our project, specifically, Chapter One and Chapter Two.

CAPSTONE PROJECT PROGRESS

Week 4: Exciting Developments and Collaborative Prospects

During this fourth week of our capstone project, our dedicated capstone advisor, Sir Gulfan, provided a thoughtful preview of the first chapter of our project report. Unfortunately, we have not been able to make as much progress with Chapter 1 as we have planned. The gift came from unforeseen circumstances—Caronisa’s cousin fell ill, which understandably required her attention and time. In the midst of the challenges, however, there is some encouraging news. Our client showed us some enthusiasm even though he was late. We were given clear instructions on the proposed arrangement. While we are eager to participate in the project, we are now eagerly awaiting their extensive approval, which is the next important step. Once we get the green light, our plan is to conduct an extensive virtual interview with our client to gather requirements and detailed information. These initial interviews will be the foundation of our work, ensuring that we align our efforts with their specific needs and objectives We are also planning follow-up interviews on Sundays to delve deeper into the complexities of the work. I must express my sincere satisfaction with what our client has offered. Their commitment to the project and clear communication have been very reassuring. It is clear that they value the efficiency and understand the importance of reducing bus retention, as it directly affects their bottom line. This aligns well with our mission to develop programs to address this issue and enhance their operations. Furthermore, it is encouraging to note that our clients have previously committed to active participation in the project, particularly in providing critical infrastructure. Well for the success of our capstone project. Pending final approval, we are optimistic about the road ahead and excited about the impact our program will have on our clients’ operations.

Week 3: Project Planning and System Focus

Our main focus right now is writing a letter to the Office of Rural Development, where we explain our project's goals. We initiated the creation of a dedicated Google Drive repository for our project team. This collaborative space will serve as a central hub for storing and organizing all our project-related materials, including ideas, documents, research papers, and various resources. We're also searching for articles to stay updated. In our discussions, we're figuring out the best technical parts for our system, like what goes on behind the scenes (backend) and what users see (frontend). As for why we're making this system, it's because we want to help rural development projects work better. We're still gathering ideas on why people should accept our system. We believe it will make rural development projects more efficient and improve decision-making. We'll explain this in more detail as we go forward.

Week 2: Conversations with RTMI's Transportation Planner and Introduction to the FMMS Project and RTMI's Transportation Challenges

Caironisa and I recently conducted an insightful interview with our client planner who oversees the Rural Transit Mindanao Inc. (RTMI) project through online meeting. During this interview, we delved into the planner's vital role and responsibilities within the project. One noteworthy aspect of our discussion was the planner's management of seven crucial reports that play a pivotal role in shaping the project's direction and success. This interview provided us with valuable insights into the planner's contributions and the strategic vision guiding the MRTI project. In Chapter 1 of this project, titled "Introduction," we delve into the critical importance of an efficient transportation system for businesses, particularly the role played by transportation companies in ensuring the timely and secure movement of goods and people. With a specific focus on the responsibilities of a transportation planner, we explore their pivotal role in managing vehicles, maintenance, and generating accurate reports. This chapter introduces the central objective of the project: the development of the Fleet Management and Maintenance System (FMMS), designed to streamline operations, enhance efficiency, and provide real-time insights for transportation planners. Furthermore, we establish the project's context by examining the challenges faced by Rural Transit Mindanao Inc. (RTMI), a major transportation company, and its decision to improve its manual reporting system by transitioning to a web-based solution.

Today, our team had a productive online meeting to kickstart our capstone project. Our main focus was brainstorming potential project titles that encapsulate our goals. A well-crafted title is crucial for guiding our project effectively.Additionally, we discussed identifying the unique project needs by thoroughly analyzing the problem space, considering stakeholders, and reviewing existing solutions. This analysis will help us create a robust project plan that exceeds stakeholders' expectations.This meeting marked a critical milestone in our project's early stages, emphasizing title clarity and our dedication to meeting our domain's specific needs. As we move forward, we'll refine our project's scope to align perfectly with our goals and those of the community or organization we aim to serve.
