The news had slapped her with the realization that they needed to be all together. "How much time do we actually have here before we have to get on the move?" She hoped they would manage to regroup with them before they had to pack up and go.

Luna: Fuck, they came to the manor and the shot up everything. I heard them calling my name.

Luna: They called my fucking name. And Donnie was there, my ex husband. And I could hear him laughing as he yelled for me.

Luna: God fucking damnit why didn't I go with you guys. I don't even know where I am, my phone is dying, people are looking at me like I'm insane. I'll call you when I find a phone.

Uriel pulled a face. How self-centered was this person? “Why the fuck do you think you’re important enough that I’d throw a book at you? I don’t even know you.” Bending down he picked up the book. Then mustering up all his strength, he looked her in the eye and apologized in a way that could only be described as strained, “It was an accident and I’m sorry.” Thinking that was done with, he walked away back to his spot under the tree where he’d left his other books.

Crap, crap. She knew this was not the way to start in fact it went against everything she had planned. Apparently fucking up had been a thing lately. "There's no one else near your vicinity. So what can we summarize from this? " She probably looked like a mad woman and she didn't expect the apology to be nice persay but she followed him anyways. Lizzie's just got to hold it in. That's it. "Look, sorry. I was...admiring the weather." It was an odd hobby but it was better than giving away what she can do. Try to be friendly, Liz. Why wasn't Luna here to give her pleasant feelings? "What we're you reading?"

A bunch of books in hand. He sits himself under a tree and pulls the first one out, staring dubiously at the cover and mouthing the words of the title before flicking it open. It takes all but a minute for him to fling the paperback across the park in frustration, biting back a howl as he didn’t want anyone to see his shame. Still it took him only a few seconds to get up and fetch it. Scolding himself in angry murmurs which all came out in one unintelligible jumble due to the fact he was trying to say two things at once; ‘don’t ruin nice people things’ and ‘why is reading so hard’.

Lizzie had been admiring the sky, always so vast and open. It was so tempting to make a tempest brew in it's wake. Her dreamy stare was broken once she felt some force being applied to the back of her head. She rubbed the back of her head. Ow. Her brows were knit and lips were tight, she was quick to turn around to see who wanted to start a fight with her. A permanent scowl was on her face even when she realized it was the person they had been looking for. Uriel. The last thing she wanted to do was frighten him. "What the hell was that for?!" A sincere talk her ass. She couldn't quite make the jumble of words strewn from his mouth. "I think you've earned the award of pissing me off the fastest. Do you normally throw a book at a random stranger who's done nothing to you?"

He shook his head. “Lucien is too violent. He snaps when you mention the wrong word and turns you into an ice-cube.” He leaned back, legs going on the coffee table in front of the couch. “We’ll do fine. You’ll be fine as a leader, you were kind of born to be one, Liz. Don’t worry too much about it. If you don’t fight, he won’t either. How about we send two people. We need innocent faces.” Warren closed one eye, as if he was aiming and pointed a finger at Lizzie. “Like yours.”   

"But he has things under control. It's not like the guy will offend him right?" Zach and Warren had put faith in her because of her ability to lead them. She just didn't want to lose any of them. They were a rare breed nowadays. "Haven't you heard? It's a leader thing. Two people? Who do you suggest?" She questioned before laughing at his next suggestion. "Me? Innocent? I'm a sinner, not a saint."

"Ugh, fine. No fun." She shrugged as they finally reached the hotel. "Warren just likes to flirt with anything that walks. Don't pay attention to him. He likes to do it to get a rise out of you." He wasn't exactly like that but that was neither here, nor there. "Coffee?"

"I never said I should do it. I just approve of my own plan the most. If we send in Ever, you or Zach, you will have enough power to run away whatever attack he tries to throw at you. But I don’t want to send in Zach, because he’s been too hot headed about this whole thing,"

"You can track people or did we forget that? We're not going to able to go to Uriel with all of us having different ideas on how to run this thing. You're nicer than I could ever be, Warren." There's a faint smile on on her lips. "Lucien is good for the job and so is Scarlett, as much as I don't like her. So are you. I'm trying to send in our best to handle this. I'm just scared it won't be enough and so where do we go from there? It's why I want back up. Would people still listen to me if this goes wrong?"

"I don’t like the idea of back up. Growing in numbers will only freak him out and make him doubt us. We shouldn’t offer anything, we’re fighting the people who imprisoned him. Going for a sincere talk with him is the best option for me and that’s the only plan I intend to stick to. No matter what the team decides.”

"That's not an excuse."

"What happens if the sincere talk doesn't go the way we think it is? He's volatile so what if he doesn't let you just go away? He could ask for a fight too, even if we don't want one. If he proves himself stronger than you think, you''ll need help. It's not your guys life that's on the line too, it's also my integrity as a leader. If you guys get hurt or anything, it'll be on me. I'm the one who came up with the plan and so that's also my responsibility."

"Can't I call you anything?" She questioned. She would have rather said anything other than Lucien. Too long for her tastes. "Okay, I didn't know about that." Her eyes widened at his words. What the hell? Had these ten years really changed Zach? "So how was the car ride here?"

But with Isabel’s death fresh on his mind there was no way that he would befriend so easily. "I thought that too. the only reason I said I would freeze him is because we do need him, and some time under ice always calms people down."

"Good for you, Frosty." At least the two we're getting along. "Also about Zach,I know he's been rude to you but I don't think he can trust outsiders so easily. Maybe it's because of everything that's happened in these ten years." She'd talk to Zach about Lucien. He'd listen to her. "I hope he doesn't take it the wrong way."

"The file is only going to tell us so much. That's why we split up into teams and we find out what we can. Scarlett, Lucien, and you will obviously find him without any problems. When you guys reach him, we'll text through disposable phone and whoever is close to your location, they'll come as back up. Just in case anything goes wrong. We relay whatever information we can about Uriel via text. The books are part of the peace offering. He can keep them too even if he doesn't want to join our party. I'm going to make a storm so we can have less collateral. Easy enough?"

Looking at her he willed the snow to cover the tree before turning in towards the Hotel. "I think i’m calm enough to be back in the hotel. Lets go before they think we abandoned them."

"It's not as bad you think. I was like that once upon a time. It can't be terrible if you let your guard down with one person, you know." She laughed a little as she begun to make her walk towards the hotel with Lucien. "Give him an option to walk away too. We can't fight him since it'll give away our location. If we get him on our side, he needs to know he can fight along side us. Force isn't an answer."

"Actually my plan was to go and talk to him, explain the situation as it is. Lying seems pointless. And I don’t plan to fight the guy at all. If he doesn’t want to join, he shouldn’t. This isn’t the government anymore."

"And how many of us actually kept up with that training after all those years ago? Let me guess, not a lot of us."

"That's all I wanted. Yet some people we're here gunning to say no to my plan without listening to all of it. It's not lying. We're all fighting for our freedom. It's the truth. If he joins us, he can have a shot at it. Simple as that, Stud."

"I don’t drink…or more likely I can’t. My powers are directly attuned to my physical and mental state. If i’m drunk I probably would end up freezing all of utah on accident." He knew that turning Utah into America’s own personal antarctica was a bad idea.  ”Well between throwing knives and binge eating I think im doing really well”

"I know how that feels. At any moment, if I'm out of control this place will feel the wrath of it. It's not just Utah, but I can feel it anywhere. I can affect anything." If there was anything she could understand about Lucien, it's that their emotional state was tied to their usage of their powers. It's not just one place that's she connected to, it's every place. Every nook and cranny exerted some amount of energy. "When you talk to to Uriel nicely. Offer him freedom. It's what we're all fighting for."

His expression turn cold, as did his heart. “Sure, teaming up with me makes you weak. Very understandable,” he agreed with a flat tone, sucked dry from any emotion. “Yes, but some plans can get us killed faster. Like going to the guy with books. Was that it? Your master plan? Scarlett didn’t go into details.” He shrugged. “I had personal things to take care of.”

"I didn't mean it like that. I meant that if we strip away our powers, what are we really? Can any of actually defend ourselves if it comes down to it." She rolled her eyes. Of course he would take Scarlett's side. "You know you don't even know the whole plan. Do you actually think taking him down would be the best plan? We don't know his full abilities. All we have is what's on paper. Do you actually think Uriel will listen to us if he's met with the same persecution from his own kind? Do you actually think we can appeal to him by fighting? Tell me, that's a smart plan. At the end of the day, he's going to have to fight on our side. Could he really trust us if he has to work with some people who tried to kill him for not seeing their way? What we all really want is? Freedom? So we offer it to him with those books." She hadn't mean to let the anger seethe through but it just had. "It's called knowing the enemy inside and out and trying to manipulate the situation in our favor. If we go in there and just attack him, that's also a one way ticket to the ASHC finding out about us. We wouldn't be able to move as freely as we can."

"Idiot is an understatement, It’s like he doesn’t realize that my life is at risk as well." He couldn’t stand the fact that he let someone get under his skin but for the moment all he could do was practice what he was taught. "Thank you. That really means a lot." He tried to give her a smile but he was sure that the face he made was one of pain. Shaking his head "Isabel taught me this to control my anger and emotions, if anything it’s relaxing." Lucien knew that he could plunge a room into the negatives with an inhale so the knives were just a distraction from his real abilities. 

She laughed a little. Zach was still her idiot regardless. "All our lives are at risk, at any moment the ASHC can come in here and screw things up." She never knew what happened when someone got captured but she imagined it wasn't pretty. They probably would be looked at like test subjects. "Welcome. There's a lot of ways to control you anger. I'm surprised I haven't become a zen master in anger control." She joked, hoping to lighten the heavy air. "At least you're the only who's actually sober in the team."
