i was watching a hindi language dub of sleeping beauty with a kid and its version of the iconic ‘once upon a dream’ song was surprisingly really good… like the lyrics were perfectly translated and rhymed and whatnot…. <3 it’s cute ngl…. like when she says “mujhe ajnabiyon se baat karne ki ijaazat nahin hain…. par hum to pehle bhi mil chuke hain…. sapne mein….”

okay. hi. or dia duit as we say here in ireland (thats a lie we say that to tourist and if we’re in the gaeltacht.~our language is dying~). anyways a few posts today caught my eye and that lead me to looking on the wikia for Mallory Keen, a northern irish demigod. i knew that she was irish from just…general knowledge kinda stuff but i didn’t really read mcga so i didn’t find out much about her. so the wikia was…quiet something. 

now, disclaimer. this post and the issues im talking about have significantly less impact than the issues that people of colour, Muslim and Jewish people have talked about for the past few years and more recently and intensely, the past few days. if I see anyone reblogging this who hasn’t been reblogging the much more important, well-thought out and valid criticism posts from bloggers of colour, i will hunt you down and batter you with a hurley, cú chulainn style. ignorance is just as bad as being visibly racist or islamophobic. your silence is loud and i will fuck you up.

I'm from Ireland and I've never had a school lockdown drill. We do get bomb scares, my brother's school was cancelled once because of one but we see them as more of an inconvenience that a danger lol

virals: 0/10. they were on a boat cheering about defeating the bad guy. all the loose ends were wrapped up. i literally didn’t even consider the possibility that there was a second book. someone had to tell me that a sequel existed

exposure: 100/10. i’m still not over it. it’s been five years. i still gasp whenever “chance’s eyes ignite with molten red light.” i remember throwing the book across the room. i am not even a little bit over that twist

Most of the daemon imagines posted on Tumblr.com are too wholesome. To paraphrase George Carlin, “one of the things I really like to do in my life is complain,” so I’ve come up with some that are more accurate to the Salty Bastard Experience.

Imagine you and your daemon swearing at other drivers together.

Imagine the suffering of everyone else in the car, because there are two of you.

Imagine your daemon watching while you play video games and making fun of you every time you die.

Imagine writing a “strongly worded” email to a coworker, landlord, etc. and your daemon looking over your shoulder and giving you advice on how to make it more subtle, or more polite… or more blatantly passive-aggressive.

Imagine your daemon baring their teeth and snarling at people who try to make small talk on public transportation.

Imagine un-settled daemons intentionally turning into the largest form they can to strategically blockade the entire couch from their siblings.

Imagine your daemon actively encouraging you to turn on the sprinklers when the neighbors’ kids are in your front yard again.

Imagine instead of getting the children of people you hate a recorder or a kazoo as a present, getting them an “educational” picture book about extremely loud animals like the White Bellbird, because their daemons will definitely try out those forms.
