“Alright,” he sighs loudly, rubbing at his own cheek from where it’s cupped in his palm, lips pursing in distaste. “Alright, I’m giving in, I need the money. Do you know any ways I can get quick and easy money for Christmas gifts that aren’t stripping or selling my body?”

“Nyariri wants to eat cheese!” she says in a high pitch voice before laughing at herself at such the cringe-worthy action. “Buy cheese for Nyari~!” she finally says before laughing even more at herself. GOD that was embarrassing. She should never do aegyo again.

“Nari,” he says, voice soft and consoling, “Nari, as your friend, I’m telling you you need to stop. Just.. shh.” Wren reaches forward and sets his entire hand on her face, willing her to please, please just shut the hell up before his ears start to bleed.

Namsoo couldn’t help but laugh at his comment. “Oh my god… you’re joking, right?” he asks Wren. “Oh Wren… if you really think you’re attractive enough, you are very wrong. I’m actually surprised why you’re even getting laid. Have you seen yourself? You’re a fucking mess. And throwing yourself at others won’t do you any good, especially if you’re causing so much fucking drama with them.” He suddenly stops for a bit to breathe. He was far from done from practically yelling at him. “God… I feel so bad for the people who have to deal with you and your bull shit. I feel so bad for the people who actually manage to stand by you. They obviously don’t see how much of a fake person you are.”

Wren’s fingers furl so tightly into his own palms it’s a surprise his nails don’t break through the skin, arms trembling and mouth set into a thin line. And god if Namsoo’s words don’t sting, but he’s never been one to back down to quickly and he knows, “You don’t know a single thing about my relationships with other people, or my drama with other people. If you honestly believe that any of the problems I have stem from me ‘throwing myself at people’, then you’re so sorely mistaken I feel bad for you.” His fingers cramp and he spreads them out, movements sharp, jerky, knuckles cracking from the effort, “Just get over yourself already, Namsoo. You think I’m such a bad person and that I’m so fake, but you don’t even fucking know me. You should know more than anyone that rumors aren’t ever actually the truth.”

( kwonxnamsoo ):

Oh no, he didn’t. Namsoo’s patience was already being tested but it seems as if Wren just made him even more furious. He’s gotten on his last nerve now and Namsoo wasn’t going to be light on it anymore. “No,” he replies. “I don’t. But instead of telling me the ‘truth’ about my appearance, I’d rather prefer you to stop sleeping around with people. Honestly, do you think people are comfortable with having to hear you rocking it on with someone? Like god. If you want to get laid with a random person so bad, at least do it at a place where there aren’t people. Everyone would be happier if you didn’t just sleep with some guy who has a large dick.”

“Who the hell are you to try and dictate what I do with my body?” Wren’s voice raises and he laughs quietly, derisively, mostly playing the other’s words off though his stomach turns uncomfortably and his throat closes up considerably. He covers his navel with a hand, fingers furling into his own shirt tightly, “It’s not my fault you’re such a fucking voyeur you can’t put in headphones and walk out of the goddamned room, it’s not my fault you’re a prude and can’t handle the fact that I’m attractive enough to have other people attracted to me. At least I’m getting some. Just because you aren’t doesn’t mean you have the right to look down on me.”

( kwonxnamsoo ):

“Same applies, you’re not really helping anyone here,” he grumbled. “Why did I even ask you in the first place? God, you’re always unhelpful, you little brat,” he seethes. “Why do I even bother thinking that asking someone who calls me an assmunch would help me in anything?“ Yeah, Namsoo. What were you thinking? It was pretty well known that the two definitely didn’t get along and it was obvious to Wren that Namsoo really couldn’t stand to see him open his mouth and say something. If anyone thought the two would get along because of roommates and friends, Namsoo wouldn’t hesitate to laugh in their face.

Frowning, Wren mostly just gives up on trying to be nice -- it’s been established that he and Namsoo don’t get along and despite trying to put up some sort of front that they might tolerate each other, the other does seem to want to bother to try to do the same. “Why in the hell are you lashing out at me, when I’m giving you the honest answer you wanted? Would you rather I lie to make you feel better, tell you that you’re the most beautiful person on the planet?” His eyes are harder than they should be, tongue sharp against the roof of his mouth, “Because you’re not. Your eyebrows are thick and your eyes are narrow and your mouth is offcentre and you have funny hips. Is that better, Namsoo? Do you prefer that?”

( moonkwanhoon ):

Kwanhoon supposed that the awkward air around them was better when the two of them fought when they were together. He wasn’t even sure how they started arguing so much, but it was true that them being in a relationship was a horrible idea.  His eyes shifted, hearing the older speak of moving on - he himself had no reason to be jealous, but he would be lying to himself if  he said he wasn’t a bit curious. “ Moved on ? You’re seeing someone else now ?” The rebel questioned his tone casual - his eyes flickering from Wren to the dorms that were in sight. 

Wren sort of regrets is words as soon as they come out, grimacing and slipping his hand to rest atop his own stomach as it turns uncomfortably beneath his palm, “Um, I mean seeing them would be too generous. It’s, um-- it’s a thing, maybe? I, uh--- I don’t know.” He huffs loudly, ducking his head to his chest and shaking it out both to clear his head and maybe unstick his wet hair from where it splays across his forehead, “It’s confusing, ok?”

( moonkwanhoon ):

Kwanhoon belatedly realized what his words could of sounded like, and he mentally cursed himself for putting himself forward like that. An awkward sigh left his lips, before shoving his free hand into his pocket. “ I didn’t mean it like that - no offense but you’re not really my type anymore.” Not that he particularly had a type but a flash of long hair and a contagious laugh did come to the rebel’s mind. “ We’re…good as this…whatever this is.” He wasn’t sure if he could count Wren as someone he could rely on - but he still sort of cared for the older even if when they were together it was more keen to a trainwreck than a relationship.

This feels like the right moment to bring up the fact that he can distinctly remember a goodbye kiss on the cheek from their last meeting, but Wren can’t quite find the words to say it without coming off wrong so he just leaves things where they are, mumbling, “Whatever you say.” He rubs his hands up and down his arms to try and warm himself even a little, thankful when the dorm building comes into view and speaking maybe a bit too loudly, “I’ve moved on, anyways, to new people. And stuff. That chapter of my life is over.”

“You can have your share of my floor when I kick your ass out of my bed,” he remarked without glancing up, already knowing that the other would have taken up more than enough space.  Once he finished with his chore, he pulled open a bedside table drawer to retrieve a lighter.  “Move the fuck over or I will kick you off,” he warned as he turned around, finding his own spot on the bed before taking a hit from the bowl and carelessly blowing the smoke into his room.  That was the biggest perk of living alone aside from the lack of people: nobody to hide the smell of smoke from.  Handing over the paraphernalia, he sunk further into the comfort of his bed.

“Har har,” he grumbles, only moving when he feels the bed dip beside him to sit up properly and leave enough proper room between the two of them. “I figure it’s better to ask before you’re even lazier than usual -- are we going to open a window, or just bathe in the smoke like last time?” Wren reaches over and it takes a few tries to spark the lighter properly but then he’s leaning down, taking a long drag and holding it a few moments with a wince before he tilts his head back to blow the smoke up at the ceiling and not right into Juno’s face, lungs stuttering a little on the exhale when he hands the material back.

He really couldn’t help but let out a chuckle at the other’s hurried response.  It was almost as if he was afraid that Juno would kick him out if he didn’t answer quickly enough – which might have actually happened.  “Yeah, yeah, don’t remind me,” he muttered, disappearing into the room once more to work on the bowl he had promised.  He didn’t look up when he heard the other enter the room, deciding to focus on his work.  “Make yourself at home or whatever.  Just don’t hog the bed, I swear to God.”

Sidling after Juno into his room, he automatically flops facefirst into the middle of the bed and rolls over, limbs spreading every which way to take up as much space as he can. It’s only a second thought when Wren scooches over a bit to the side and retracts his left limbs a little to leave some room, “Your definition of hogging might be different than mine, just saying. Sharing is caring, anyways.”

“I don’t care what you do,” Juno replied with a shrug, moving away from the counter to slip into his bedroom.  In less than a minute, he returned to the doorway in a pair of sweatpants, raising an eyebrow in the other’s direction, “Are you staying or not?  ‘Cause I’m about to pack a bowl, and I’ve got enough for you.  But if you plan on smoking and leaving, you can just get your ass out of my apartment right now.”

“I’ll stay,” he mumble-yells, making a big deal of smushing his palms to the cupboard and slowly, slowly getting up to his feet. He wriggles his arms around again until the sleeves of the sweater slip over his fingertips, holding the cuffs in between his fingers with a small hum, “When have I ever done that before, anyways? I always stick around until you kick me out fully.”

“It’s very clear why you’ve fallen so hard for me,” Juno remarked, shaking his head to hide his own smile.  It felt stupid to smile over something so dumb, but it was better than feeling angry.  Running a hand through his hair again, he let out a sigh, “Are you done mooching off of my heated apartment, or are you hoping to stick around?  Because I have a nap planned in about half an hour.”

Wren only hums as sarcastically as he can manage in response before he glances down at himself, arms raising to his sides and wriggling to flop the sleeves around a little, “I mean, I am in your clothes. It might look weird if I come walking back from your apartment in your pjs.”

Juno watched as the other slid away from him on his kitchen floor, causing him to question every decision he had just made.  “You know what?  I take it all back.  I hate you,” he said matter-of-factly, although his slight smirk said differently.  “You’re the worst person I’ve ever met, and the most annoying person in the world.”

Wren has to struggle not to outright grin like an idiot and brings one leg up to rest his chin on its knee, “You are just too sweet with your compliments, Juno. You’re really making a run for my poor vulnerable heart.”

Juno just stood still, biting the inside of his cheek as he waited for a response.  The other sank to the ground, and he wondered if maybe he should check on him, but then Wren was talking and it seemed unnecessary.  “Yeah, well,” he sighed, taking a step closer to his friend before delivering a gentle kick to his thigh, “you’re an idiot.”  Despite his words, a small smile found its way onto his lips.

Tipping his head back to face Juno, he makes a farting sound with his mouth and smushes his knuckles into the other’s shin, not hard enough to be a punch, “If I’m an idiot, you are too, cause you like me and my idiocy.” Wren scoots back a bit to lean properly against the cupboards, hands curling around his ankles, “Although I still feel like we haven’t really gotten very far with this conversation, since I already knew you were a loser.”

Juno let out a huff, annoyed that they were just going around in circles.  Still, he supposed it was better than yelling at each other like they usually did.  But if he wanted the conversation to actually progress, then he would have to say something different.  “God knows why, but for some reason, I like you.  In basically every way that I shouldn’t like you, I do.  As a person, as a friend, as– I don’t know, something else?  It’s infuriating for me, because things would be so much easier if I hated you like I do everyone else in the world, but I don’t.”  He took a deep breath before letting out a small ‘fuck’ in English, backtracking once more to lighten the situation a bit, “But don’t take that the wrong way.  I still can’t fucking stand you.”

Wren manages a weak smile at the last quip but then has to carefully lower himself to sit on the ground, legs shaky and head spinning a little because wow, it’s a lot to hear everything laid out like that. And fainting really doesn’t seem like the appropriate response at the moment. “Um, wow,” is what he gets out at first, ruffling with his hair a few moments before continuing in a quiet voice, “I mean, I’m sorry that existing is making you frustrated, but---” Crossing his legs neatly beneath himself, he pats at his thighs idly and snorts to himself, “I’m not gonna lie, it makes me the littlest bit happy that it’s me and not someone else. For obvious, I like you too reasons.”

“I didn’t change my orientation,” Juno frowned, wondering if that’s what the other believed had happened.  To him, being aromantic meant that he wasn’t romantically interested in others.  That hadn’t changed at all.  He had only said from the beginning that he felt something more than platonic, but that didn’t mean he was suddenly going to feel a romantic attraction.  “Why are you so caught up on my sexuality anyway?  It’s what I feel, and what I want to call it.  Even if I did change my mind, I’m allowed to do that,” he had to remind himself not to get irritated, taking a deep breath before running a hand through his hair.  “I can like people – or dislike them – in whatever way I want.  Just because I picked a label for it, that doesn’t mean I have to stick to it.  And don’t act like you’re more confused about it than I am.”  Furrowing his eyebrows, he removed his hand from his hair to smack the other away from him, “I am being honest.”

“I didn’t---” Wren trips over his own words and gurgles a little, taking a few steps back and rubbing at the spot where he’s been hit. “I didn’t mean to make it seem like I meant you weren’t aromantic anymore, that’s not what I was going for. Of course you have the right to your own sexuality and I didn’t mean to make it about me, I just-- I don’t know.” He raises both hands and rubs at his face yet again, keeping them there and mumbling, “I don’t know how to say things without making them bad. You talk, if you want to do this. I can’t.”

“I thought we already went over the fact that I don’t have normal human emotions, nor do I know what to do on the rare occasion that I do feel something,” Juno’s tone of voice was dripping with sarcasm, but his words were mostly true.  He had no idea what he was doing, or what he felt, or if he was even feeling anything.  By all means, there was no reason for the other to expect him to react in a way that anyone else in the world might have.  “You didn’t hurt me,” he stated with a blank expression, leaning further against the counter as he averted his gaze to the sink.  “It was just… annoying.”

“Exactly,” he says, opting to mostly ignore Juno’s sarcasm. “You went from being aromantic and not even having those kinds of feelings to apparently suddenly having them, and for me, and it’s kind of hard to believe, let alone deal with?” Wren’s talking too much and his voice is shaky all over, but he still has enough energy to reach over and flick Juno’s temple, “Don’t lie. I’m being honest with you, at least do the same for me.”
