She was, in truth, disgusting, and Triton made sure it was clear by the way his lips twirled, a smirk turning into a grimace as he stared at her. “Now what would you know about parenthood, my dear?”, he asked, his boldness starting to fade as quiet rage replaced it. "Oh right, I forgot about that seaweeed you call your eels".
"Well, congratulations. You have successfully ruined Ariel."
"Now, why would I even accept your criticism?", there was a smile on his lips, mocking her and her words and her foolishness in believing he'd give a damn. "And why would you even care? Ariel ruined herself, I had no part in it".

Christoph barely heard the brunette's words, but when he did, he laughed out loud, spilled half of his beer on himself and stood up on his fishing boat, still on the sand, although he believed he was sailing."I've always been here", he yelled, opening his arms. "I'm the king of the fucking ocean".

H E A D C A N O N: As the King of Atlantica, and the ocean surrounding it, Triton has the power of deciding who lives and who dies, among the shiprecked sailor and foolish humans the merpeople often find. Basically, when a mermaid finds a human whose life is in danger, Triton is the one who decides whether they should die, or whether they should be given the gift of immortal life, becoming that mermaid's companion forever — it's not a fate you'd wish to your friends, as it means you'll be enslaved to that mermaid forever. Still, mermaids seem to care deeply about some humans they find. After Athena's death, however, Triton has become a lot less merciful with the two-legged creatures, and no human has been granted the gift ever since. To him, they're all the same: filthy creatures whose sole good action could be dying.
