This hereās Amble.
Probably not his real name, but its the one everyone uses. Itās pretty appropriate, being a vaquero. He goes about wandering the plains with his herd, giant luminescent, monstrous cows belonging to a high fae, his patron.
Ā He came to his patron, (he calls her Maam out of respect) when he saw her in his dreams. Many saw her, a call, a desperate one, crying out in the night but none but Amble took to finding out what it was about.
Ā Took him days to walk it, but he got there.
Ā He saw her.
Ā The fae was growing old, not as humans do but growing i suppose, incoherent, unstable. Her once humanoid form had grown into the earth, her hair taking root, her skin blooming catci flowers and thorns, but her eyes, amble had thought, looking at the great monolith of the desert this fae had becomeā¦
Ā They were alive, ān so so sad.
Her cry was for her animals, her herd, lost without her guidance and Amble, a kind and laidback, but not very social fellow, couldnāt really stand to see these beautiful beasts crying back for their mistress, lowing in miserable voices that quivered strangely in the cool night air and thought, he might be able to do somethinā about it.
Ā So he took them on, and their mistress as his patron, and heās livinā a pretty good life he reckons.Ā
Ā Quiet, no one nagging at him, his beautiful ladies to keep him company, n even if that dwarven sheriff comes visitinā, thatās no so bad either.Ā
me and @zenyattaslaughā got the urge to make a western style elf/dwarf couple and hereās the elf who wandered into my noggin.
